- The W Singapore has 240 rooms, of which, 27 are Suites! This is an excellent ratio making it more likely to get a complimentary Suite upgrade!
Before arrival, I had some questions and communication with the hotel via the mobile chat function on the Marriott Bonvoy app. I mainly chatted with Charlene who was AMAZING! She was so quick to respond and organised everything (and more!!!). She really impressed me!
On arrival, I was greeted by Stacey who checked me in and also Sebastian (Room Director). We had a warm and friendly conversation and I was upgraded to a a Corner Marvellous Suite overlooking the marina! This suite is fantastic and you can check it out on You Tube at Love Flying and Hotels. It Is very luxurious! As an Ambassador elite member, I opted for Breakfast as my welcome gift. The other choices were 1,000 points or the local amenity which was a W t-shirt. Stacey gave he t-shirt free and 2 complimentary drinks vouchers (from a selected menu). Stacey showed me to my Suite and was very friendly and welcoming - nice girl!
As I explored the grounds, a staff member called Jaya gave a warm welcome and gave me a private and thorough tour, whilst others had a friendly chat! Being alone, this was very welcome!
During my stay I again interacted with the hotel via the mobile chat as well as face to face - and both Vinny and Rex were so amazing - exceeding any expectations! They were so friendly and Vinny also responded several times despite having already left work for the day!
There are 2 pools, a large pool shared between children and adults and a smaller but still large, infants’ pool. There is a Spa open from 10am to 9pm and a 24 hour modern fitness centre.
There are a number of restaurants onsite and the food is great! Check out Skirt which is the signature steakhouse where they offer the option of choosing a set menu with wine pairing. Another option is the Kitchen table where you can enjoy a seafood buffet or Sunday brunch and everything in between. Being vegetarian, the hotel allowed me to order from the in-room dining menu as it has more veggie options and eat at Skirt (as the Kitchen Table was closed). This was a very nice gesture!
Prior to arrival, I asked the hotel to organise a special breakfast for me - cheese omelette with a side plate of fruit - specifically, berries such as strawberries, blueberries and raspberries, some mango and avocado. The hotel was more than happy.
There were a few other things that the hotel did for me and clearly went over and beyond my expectations - they had set the bar very high and it is a hotel I highly recommend worth visiting - I will definitely be back along with the St. Regis. The review on the St. Regis will be coming soon!
Solid overview of the property! I'm planning a trip for my wife and I and have narrowed it down to this W and the Singapore Edition. I was originally thinking we would book two solid days in Singapore with travel days on the flanks (from BKK and to HKT). We'd then spend a few nights at one of the Khao Lak resorts. But now I'm going to propose if we stayed at the W, we could eliminate that extra travel time and add a couple of days onto the Singapore portion and if we stayed at the W, it wouldn't be as quiet as Khao Lak, but also not as remote as that region is. You're really bound to your resort or driving distances for excursions. Years ago we stayed at the Library on Koh Samui and liked the vibe there and the ability to just walk into town and explore.
@@SaltWaterSound Thank you! My stay at the W was excellent but I will mention that the hotel (bar) is not always very lively and I went in peak season. But if you are okay with that, or prefer it not to be too busy/lively, then this is an excellent choice! I also wanted to stay at Singapore Edition but didn’t get a chance. I will do hopefully within the next 12-24 months😀 I know Khao Lake is limited as is Mai Khao but nice for just chilling and enjoying good quality resorts😀 I hope you enjoy your trip! All the best 😀
Wow! What an amazing experience. The donuts look scrumptious and stunning views🤩
Yes! And, I am sure you liked the bathroom and bathtub!
What a great review mate! We travel to Singapore a lot and usually stay in the Fullerton….but this maybe our next hotel we try in Singapore looks like it has the wow factor thanks mate great review keep up the great work 🙌🏻
Thank you for sharing and such nice feedback! If you do stay, I really hope you enjoy it but I am releasing a few more videos for Singapore : The Westin (No WOW factor), The St. Regis (My new favourite :)) and The JW Marriott. You may have already stayed at these or seen videos already but if not, I hope you enjoy these videos too! :) All the best!
@@loveflyingandhotels aren’t them hotels owned by the same group ? So many amazing hotels in Singapore it’s hard to choose sometimes! The charlton on orchard road is very nice to 👍🏻 will be watching the reviews as they come in mate 👍🏻

@@Neil-clare Oh good! You will love this upcoming vid!
thanks for sharing! is there a t-shirt size for u to choose or it's just one size? thanks
Thank you😀 That is a good question. Unfortunately I didn’t ask this. Do you want me to try and find out?
But I did ask if I could choose a different colour and there was only one option
@@loveflyingandhotels haha no worries. I stay in Singapore so I will find some day with good prices to check it out by myself. thanks :)
How is the location of Sentosa Cove? Is it too far out?
Also, not a fan of those W couches. More for fashion than function.
Hello! Yes, I too am not a fan of these type of couches, I like a higher back rest! And, how come only 1 cushion? lol
So, it is a little far out. There are a few restaurants and bars next to the hotel (30 seconds walk) but I didn't visit these as had little time.
If you want to venture further out and head to a mall or city centre then you need to take bus/monorail. Again, I didn't do this as I find it difficult alone and being 99% blind.
😀
