I have 2 in college now and a 7th, 5th, and 3rd grader. I have always homeschooled and would not have it any other way. We also start school around 10 and usually are done sometime between 1 and 3. I have noticed that a clean house is key. When my kitchen is a mess it stresses me out. Spending time with the Lord in the morning helps my patience and mood. It is not always easy but it is always worth it. I thank God for this blessing everyday. We start with Easy grammar, move to A Reason for Spelling, then everyone does Teaching Textbooks. If we are hungry, we stop for lunch. Then we do Abeka Science and History. They also do Handwriting without tears for cursive practice. My 3rd grader is still doing the old version of Hooked on Phonics. Then everyone does chores and is free to play or read. That is our day. God bless you and thank you for sharing. 😊🙏♥️
You are wonderful. I'm a mom of 5, I'm from Romania. I love your videos. I love the fact that you are teaching yor kids Bible verses, prayers.... may God bless your family!!
I don’t homeschool but I love watching homeschooling content because I get ideas about things I can teach my kids that I know they aren’t getting in school. I feel like it just helps me connect with my kids in different areas. Thank you. I also love listening to videos of you just talking. I find your voice calming and you inspire me!
❤ Thank you for sharing! I don’t homeschool but I have 5 kiddos so seeing these videos helps me out so much. Keep up the amazing work at home, on UA-cam, and just in life 😊
I've been anticipating this video for a long time. I love your channel and admire most of the things you do for homemaking and the like. I am happy to report this didn't disappoint. Our day looks very similar to this. Your kids are absolutely adorable. And it was fun to see you up there teaching.
Great family and great advice. I remember in your other house you all fitting in at your kitchen table working so hard at school. You are so blessed to have such a great room for school now. So good to see the kids again. You have such a beautiful family.
We start our school day at 8:30. My son is 9, he is up at 6:30am does all the farm chores and is back in by 7:30 to shower, get ready and have breakfast before we start our morning. We work until about 11, have lunch, then 11:30 start back up until about 2:30. I don’t utilize any video lessons, I do all the instruction and lessons for each subject. We cover, Language Arts (sentence structure, parts of speech, grammar and creative writing), Math, World Geo, US Geo, Saints, Virtues & Character, Science, Music, Art, Catechism/Religion, Reading Comprehension, Spelling, Poetry, Latin, and Root Words. At 2:30 he practices his piano for 30min and reads 3 chapters of the current chapter book. He goes outside to play with his siblings until dinner which is 5:30. We have 5 kids. 21, 19, 9, 2 & 10months :) We thrive on structure at our house! So cool to see how you all do school!
That seems like a lot. I’m all for structure and discipline but at 9 years old, are you sure there is enough time, between all the subjects taught and chores, to rest?
Love that you go with the flow but also have structure. Balance is key. What do you have the little ones do while you help the school age kids? I have 3 3 and under plus school age. I’m not sure how to keep the younger ones busy long enough to focus with the older. ♥️
We actually just started back to homeschooling! We tried out a charter school last year and a few weeks this year and it’s definitely not for us! So back to homeschool for us! We prefer a slower pace morning. I always get math and LA done first then add in extra things based on attitudes and attention spans. I have 5th, 3rd, 2nd, early pre K (Almost 4) along with a 20month old running around lol Days can get busy and a bit chaotic but I wouldn’t change it for anything! ❤
Good morning I don't have young age kids my two boys are grown and have their own families but enjoy seeing you. You make it seem so easy. Thanks for sharing! 🙏🏽💜
This is soo helpful!!! I’m only on my 2nd year of homeschooling and sometimes feel like I’m still getting the hang of it 🤭😅😂 it’s helpful to see how others mamas do it and inspires me to incorporate different things. Thanks for sharing!
I have a few questions: What are your below school age kids doing while the big kids are doing school? What activities are you doing with the little ones? When are you cleaning, resting and editing videos?❤😊
Little ones get poured into before we begin so that they are happily playing in the room right next to the classroom. Some days they aren’t so happy and I try to include them if possible with playdoh or something similar at the table. We do language and math during nap time for the littles. We do most of our chores in the morning before school and in the evenings after dinner. I’m very quick at editing videos since I’ve been doing this for nearly 10 years. I usually do that after the kids go to bed and when I wake up early for my mama morning routine. I rest on Sundays :)
Thank you for sharing your routine! We are homeschooling our 4 kids ages 9, 8, 6 and 3. Baby on the way for January! We use Charlotte Mason's Mater Amabilis right now. I feel like this past year I've been painfully in a growth period for homeschooling, but so far our year has started ok. We also have our kids do chores on our very small homestead (we try what we can). We live in Malaysia, I am American. Not many homeschoolers here, so it can be a bit of a lonely vocation. We are committed though! God bless.
I'm in my 3rd year homeschooling and some days I feel like I'm still flying by the seat of my pants 😅. I loved watching how you do you day! I have kids 10, 5, 4 and almost 2 years old.
Thank you for your videos ❤ I was wondering how do you get your kids motivated to get their chores done before they start their day...And what types of chores do you do? Do you check to make sure they are all completed? Thanks so much 😊
Спасибо за видео ❤️ хотелось бы увидеть, как вы отдыхаете всей семьёй) куда вы любите ходить, какие места посещать? Любите ли вы театры и музеи, кино и экскурсии? 🍬
My name is Heather Lavender and I have two boys ages 8 and 14 and this year is our first year homeschooling and we are using Sonlight Curriculum. I am still learning how the best way my family does best? You helped me to understand how to get both kids done together since my youngest needs more help and my oldest can do it all mostly on his own. I will have to do verses, history, and one or two more things with them together and other things on their own. Thanks for giving me some ideas about that and have a blessed day! Also we have been traveling a lot so homeschooling has been helping so much, and thanks for the encouraging daily routine.
My kids are 6,4 and 2. We also start school at 10am with Handwriting and spelling after that we usually do Kahn academy and then finish up with the good and beautiful math for my oldest and preschool workbook for my 4 year old. Depending on the day i read lots and we also like to watch science videos.
Hi nice on what you are doing with children keep up good work you foing as mom i never see your back school haul also see uour shopping haul love it god is good love teach them about the bible 🙏🙏🇯🇲
Hello Tabitha, fellow homeschool mom of 4 from Switzerland here. 🙌 How do you schedule/ incorporate cleaning/ house work tasks into your homeschool days? Have a great day, Miriam
I am obviously not Tabitha but I thought I would leave my thoughts for what works in our home :) So, I do at least a load of laundry every day and I start it right after everyone is dressed for the day. My children all have a chore to do in the morning. My husband always unloads the dishwasher every morning for me and starts my coffee. If he doesn’t go into the office he brings me coffee in bed with my Bible haha. Then after breakfast I wipe down counters and the table. I do this after every meal. Most evenings my husband does though. He is very hands on 😊 Every Sunday we do a “house blessing” and we ALL clean the house together with worship music playing and just make it fun for the kids and encourage them to be good helpers for their future wives. I hope that helps 🤷🏼♀️
I do the fly lady method of cleaning! I have play lists about it!! Morning chores, lunch chores and an evening routine covers all basis pretty well. I do a bit of extra cleaning on Saturdays.
@@ThisMamasHouse thank you! I am also doing the flylady method and enjoyed watching your play list. 🥰 I have been thinking about doing some extra cleaning on Saturday’s as well.
Oh my word!! My 15 month old is up between 6-6:30😩 BUT I drive my kids to school, which take 50 minutes total, so he has to be up no later than 6:30. Lol. On the weekends he’s up by 7 and he sleeps terribly 😩😩. You are one lucky mama❤❤
How do you deal with drop-off and pick-up for your child who isnt homeschooled? This was always such a production for us. My husband wants one of our kids to try in-person school next year and I am struggling to figure out how I could make it.
When do you guys do playdates/extra-curriculars/co-ops, etc if you dont get done until 4pm some days? We are always getting done by 10am so we can do playdates. Just curious!
We usually get up 5:45am get showered and dressed, breakfast with Daddy before he goes to work, I have a coffee with Daddy before he goes to work, we then do our exercises sing a hymn then pray and do homeschool between 8:30am - 11am, then have lunch and they have the afternoon to relax do crafts or go out in nature, days out etc. We do Mon- Fri also. I love watching your content, thanks for sharing Tabitha. ❤
I have that problem with breakfast! Im wasting 2+hours because they (husband included) wake up in different hours. Drives me nuts. Is so so hard to wake up my teenagers
Hi Tabitha. Where are the smaller kids when you're homeschooling and what are they doing? This is my first year homeschooling and wondering what to do with the 2 year old? Great video.
I try to really spend some one on one time with the toddlers before we start school then set them up with playing close by. We’ve done things like sensory bins, busy boxes and just trying to include them. There are lots of interruptions and some days are harder than others. We do independent lessons when the youngest naps or if he’s preoccupied
I’m a single dad. I homeschool my kids too and work at night. We get it done and it works great for us. I know it’s odd for a dad to be the only parent but it’s my life and I love my children. Where we live, too many kids bring hand g*ns to school and I’m not ok with that. Plus when my oldest was in kindergarten, on day two, he was about to cry so I was on my knees reassuring him that I’d be back after school and I saw the teacher throw a kid in the opposite direction he was going. It was the second day. They didn’t know the routine yet. I left him that day, reported her and went home. The next morning he woke up with a fever and I took him to the doctor and he had mono so they said start him next year. I said can I start him at home? The superintendent said yes you can homeschool. So I have.
What do you recommend or suggest for me when my oldest doesn’t want to do school lessons and whines about it lol she’s in 1st grade and we are a homeschool family as well. Mom of 3 - 3girls! 3yrs old, 6 yrs old and 8mnth old
Keep pushing through! If you’re following a hood routine so she knows what to expect each day just keep going. Maybe a sticker or a sucker as a little reward for good behavior and completing her work
I don’t know if our homeschool days will ever get better. They goof off constantly. My 6 year old boy doesn’t have any interest in sitting and focusing on learning anything. My oldest gets stressed out with simple things like writing a spelling list or basic subtraction and she’s in 4th grade. Every day is full of yelling and tears. I like the idea of having slow mornings but then when it’s time to sit and do work they don’t want to. Every year of homeschool seems like I get no where and it’s just full of anger and frustration. I’m just over it…
Hi! Homeschooling mom to 4 and soon to be 5. This can be very frustrating and this was me 6 years ago with my oldest 2 boys. I will say, making sure discipline in the home is understood is more important than you might realize. I have found that giving them 3 warnings with the third being a disciplinary action from dad when he gets home makes them straighten up real fast. Also, taking privileges away from them helps too. It’s frustrating but you are in control of your day and you are the parent! Hope you take this as constructive and not judge mental! God Bless you ❤️
I think everyone feels this! Take away privileges even if it’s their favorite snack. Let them know why they can’t go school. Getting time alone or out away from everyone for the day may help to. Stand your ground it take 4 or 5 days of them pushing you but they see your not going back down! And they going loose privileges they will stop just stand your ground. My momma use say it’s easier correcting at 5 than 13 boy is that so true!!!!
Not the most popular opinion but if you’ve tried different methods including a disciplined schedule and it still doesn’t work, you might need to put them in some type of school environment for them and also for your own sanity. At least for a little while so they can truly understand structure. My children were in public school for their first few grades and then we began to homeschool. And because they had already been taught certain structure in the school environment it came naturally at home. Now our plan didn’t happen by design, as we didn’t know much about homeschooling at first, but now I can see the “pros” if you will of starting out with some sort of regular schooling.
YOU ARE ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC !!!! YOU ARE SUCH SN AWESOME MOTHER WITH A BIG HEARTBAND A KOT OF RESPECT FOR YOUR XHILDREN!!!! XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX YOU KNOW, THERE ARE OTHER PARENTS , WHO COERCE THEIR KIDS TO WAKE UP AT THE CRACK OF DAWN, AND NOT TO HAVE BREAKFAST TILL MUCH LATER, UNTIL ALL THE CHORES ARE DONE, AND PLENTY OF MOTHERS EVEN FORBID THEM TO GOBDOWN TO THE KITCHEN BEFORE HALF EIGHT, EVEN A FIFTEEN YEAR OLD!!!, ALSO, INSTEAD OF COOKING THEM A PROPER BREAKFAST AND GIVE THEM TIME TO EAT IT SLOWLY, AS FOOD SHOULD BE EATEN,BEITHER THEY JUST GIVE THEM DOME FRUIT TO HAVE THEM EAT QUICKLY, HURRYING THEM TO START THEIR STUDIES, OR THEY MAKE THEM START BIBLE STUDY WITHOUT BREAKFAST, ONLY A FEW SNACKS JUST TO SHUT THEM UP, WHILE BIBLE STUDY IS ON, OR THEY ARE PERMITTED TO HAVE BREAKFAST, BUT TO HURRY THEM ALONG ALL THE SAME, THE BIBLE IS READ TO THEM WHILE THEY HAVE BREAKFAST!!!, THEY ARE NOT WORTHY TO BE CALLED PARENTS NOR CHRISTIANS ETC, WHEREAS YOU ARE A LOVELY LADY, REALLY A FANTASTIC MOTHER, WHO DOES RESPECT HER CHILDREN, AS ALL PARENTS SHOULD, FOR THOSE WHO IMPOSE KIDS THESE PREPOSTEROUS AND HEARTLESS RULES ARE CHILD ABUSWRS, WHOM GOD WILL PUNISH AGAINST THEIR SO- CALLED RICHTEOUSNESS, AND IM SURE YOUR CHILDREN ARE VERY HAPPY AND RELAXED, THEY LEARN, THEY STUDY, BUT ALL ALONG THEIR RUGHTS OF EAT IN PEACE WUTH RESPECT TOWARDS THEIR DIGESTIVE SYSTEM ARE RESPECTED, AND YOU LET THEM GO AT THEIR PACE, FOR CHRISTIAN OR NOT, YOU DO RESPECT YOURKIDS AND THEOR RIGHT TO EAT ENJOYING THE😮R FOOD,BWHICH ISBEVERYBODYS RUGHT!!!, LOTS OF LOVE XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
Mom of two boys-ages 12 and 9-We use a Mennonite curriculum because I love the simplicity of it for language arts, science, Bible and social studies. We use Apologia for math which my boys love! We do art ourselves in various ways. We do lots of nature walks and historical places around us. Sometimes UA-cam videos but we are a low screen family. We are usually done with school by 2:00pm if we take some breaks and we usually start around 9am.
@@ThisMamasHouse there is no beauty in considering that the god all mighty who is not in need of one of his creations and who is superior to all had to make a human son and put him through killing in a very bad way just to forgive you, we believe in jesus and in his mother marry, they are creations of god who is the creator, the most merciful who can forgive just by asking him for forgiveness, even our prophet M.o.h.a.m.m.e.d is not equal to god, he is also a creation of god, i am saying this to you beacause we believe there is only one way to heaven, and i do love you and follow you long time ago, i have four kids and you have helped me alot through my journey with house work and i even made a brave choice of homeschooling them because i saw that your experience was very positive, i do wish you go to heaven with all your beautiful family, and to accept my invetation to read a translated version of Quran , if it doesnt convince you at least it will be an increase of knowledge.

I have found that giving them 3 warnings with the third being a disciplinary action from dad when he gets home makes them straighten up real fast. Also, taking privileges away from them helps too. It’s frustrating but you are in control of your day and you are the parent! Hope you take this as constructive and not judge mental! God Bless you ❤️
@@naturallycatholic22 thank you. I’ll take all the help I can get ♥️
I think everyone feels this!
What are the little guys doing?
YOU ARE ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC !!!! YOU ARE SUCH SN AWESOME MOTHER WITH A BIG HEARTBAND A KOT OF RESPECT FOR YOUR XHILDREN!!!! XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
YOU KNOW, THERE ARE OTHER PARENTS , WHO COERCE THEIR KIDS TO WAKE UP AT THE CRACK OF DAWN, AND NOT TO HAVE BREAKFAST TILL MUCH LATER, UNTIL ALL THE CHORES ARE DONE, AND PLENTY OF MOTHERS EVEN FORBID THEM TO GOBDOWN TO THE KITCHEN BEFORE HALF EIGHT, EVEN A FIFTEEN YEAR OLD!!!, ALSO, INSTEAD OF COOKING THEM A PROPER BREAKFAST AND GIVE THEM TIME TO EAT IT SLOWLY, AS FOOD SHOULD BE EATEN,BEITHER THEY JUST GIVE THEM DOME FRUIT TO HAVE THEM EAT QUICKLY, HURRYING THEM TO START THEIR STUDIES, OR THEY MAKE THEM START BIBLE STUDY WITHOUT BREAKFAST, ONLY A FEW SNACKS JUST TO SHUT THEM UP, WHILE BIBLE STUDY IS ON, OR THEY ARE PERMITTED TO HAVE BREAKFAST, BUT TO HURRY THEM ALONG ALL THE SAME, THE BIBLE IS READ TO THEM WHILE THEY HAVE BREAKFAST!!!, THEY ARE NOT WORTHY TO BE CALLED PARENTS NOR CHRISTIANS ETC,
WHEREAS YOU ARE A LOVELY LADY, REALLY A FANTASTIC MOTHER, WHO DOES RESPECT HER CHILDREN, AS ALL PARENTS SHOULD, FOR THOSE WHO IMPOSE KIDS THESE PREPOSTEROUS AND HEARTLESS RULES ARE CHILD ABUSWRS, WHOM GOD WILL PUNISH AGAINST THEIR SO- CALLED RICHTEOUSNESS, AND IM SURE YOUR CHILDREN ARE VERY HAPPY AND RELAXED, THEY LEARN, THEY STUDY, BUT ALL ALONG THEIR RUGHTS OF EAT IN PEACE WUTH RESPECT TOWARDS THEIR DIGESTIVE SYSTEM ARE RESPECTED, AND YOU LET THEM GO AT THEIR PACE, FOR CHRISTIAN OR NOT, YOU DO RESPECT YOURKIDS AND THEOR RIGHT TO EAT ENJOYING THE😮R FOOD,BWHICH ISBEVERYBODYS RUGHT!!!,

I wish we were allowed to homeschool in germany 🙄
May I ask if you having another baby?
Nope. Just leftovers from 7 pregnancies 😉
Great ideas tho I don't agree with pushing religion on kids.
Hey tabatha, you are a great mom, i wish you discover the beauty of i.s.l.a.m and study quran may god guide you to the truth

Hey tabatha, you are a great mom, i wish you discover the beauty of i.s.l.a.m and study quran may god guide you to the truth
Jesus is the way, the truth and the life! Many beautiful aspects of Islam but we have found home in the one holy apostolic church
