This is absolutely amazing! True dancing! I took Ukrainian Dance for one year and loved it but this is true professional dancing! I could not imagine dancing to this this takes true skill and talent!!! :) This is pure dance talent! :) Any one else agree? :)
I'm blown away. Nevermind the masterful dancing, the music itself is beyond astonishing and the orchestra is just performing so sharp. Unreal and uncommon to hear an orchestra literally play so crisp and as a single unison!! you want to hear a little hybrid of Johann Strauss and instrumentation/orchestration mannerisms of Rossini, and yet completely original!!
I have Ukrainian danced for years, being first generation canadian we stay close to our Ukrainian heritage and I can say with great strength that Ukrainian dance is just that Ukrainian. We are not base of ballet or anything else. This is our culture and each dance tells a story as many folk stories are told, ours by song and dance :) Of course this group is AMAZING!
They are very very talent!!! 😳😱 these figures are so hard to make but these guys looks like birds.they did all of figure so softly and beautifully.👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👍🏼
FANTASTIC !!! BEAUTY !!! BEAUTY !!! GOD BLESS YOU !!! ENDLESS BEAUTY !!! I LOVE YOU ENDLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESS !!! ALWAYS WITH A LOT OF LOVE AND LIGHT YOUR ETERNAL FAN Nadya Mirkova from Sofia - Bulgaria
There are DNA taken by scientists that UKRAINIANS were not only the Aryan race but dated back to the 5000 B.C.E. Ukraine had the Cossacks as the last knights, not only defending their nation and faith but had an independent Ukraine: fighting Turks, Poland/Lithuanians, even the fighting force for the Russian tsardom until Katherine II disavowed the 1554th edict promising Ukraine Independent for the Cossacks fighting force. What Russian Moscovites regime did is unbelievable to add their totally different history to be that of their own. Unfortunately, even recently having Putin make our St. Vladimir last year pronounced and ordained as the saint of Russia. Moreover, he announced to the French President at a public assembly of Queen Anne as Russian as well. Of course, this is a total falsehood since St. Volodymyr is part of Ukrainian history. He christened his people in the Dnieper River in 988 A.D.. Since then there is a monument dedicated to him with a trident, overlooking the Dnieper River. It is also said that St. ANDREW put a cross on the place that became Kiev Rus, the Capital city of Ukraine. The (Kiev Rus) Dynasty had no connection with Russia since it didn't exist until 300 yrs. Later.
The dances date back to the Cossacks. The Zaporosh Cossacks should be credited also for the Kuban Cossacks as well for they are part of a division that chose to occupy the Kuban, Ukraine territory after the last Hetmam died. Again the Russians mainly got involved. Tsardom indicated that their land was given to them and continued to work on future generations of this myth, just as the present army of Cossacks are serving Russia.

"Hopak," the most typical Ukrainian Kozak dance has many variations, some more military-like, while others, like this one, include some "lyric" parts danced mainly by women. In this latter case, it takes a form of competition for ladies' attention: who is stronger and better fit with? of course, a lot of flirting... If interested in knowing about the Ukrainian Kozak culture and dances read below: Another sample of Ukrainian military Kozak dancing: Танец-ползунец by Марина Арестова on UA-cam. "Povzunetz" (the name of this dance) is a rich part of Ukrainian military Kozak culture which has nothing to do with Russian, and I will explain it a bit later. It is danced almost in that position which is symbolic for a "military recognizance mission" in the area Kozaks had their statehood: Ukrainian steppes - mainly flat. So in order not to be visible as a "military recognizance" they dance it that way, not "sticking" out... The Kozak statehood was a first attempt in Europe (it started at the end of the XV cent.) to establish a first democracy: all its Hetmans (presidents) were elected... The Kozak state had its first European constitution written by Orlyk who later had to emigrate to France when Zaporizzhia Sich (the name of the Kozak state) was dismantled by Russians. He became so famous that Frenchmen named their Orly airport after him. So, after a total destruction of Zaporizzhia Sich by Russian Empire, Kozaks were forcibly dislocated to Kuban area and the area of the contemporary Rostov in Russia. All their songs and traditions were proclaimed to be of "Russian heritage," even though it is clear of the opposite: the Kozak culture was founded on the principle of freedom from landlords while the Russian one - on slavery that existed until year 1861 (!!!) In this period Kozak detachments in Russia were mainly used for repression in Russia, Poland and Ukraine and in stimulating anti-Jewish pogroms. But I have to restate: it has nothing to do with the genuine freedom-loving Ukrainian Kozak culture. Today we witness the mental difference between Ukrainian and Russian people in their attitude towards the state: Ukrainians revolt when pressed to much by the state, while Russian are happy to put military shoes on and glorify their state. That's why they came up to Alaska and further to California (Russian river) I wonder if one day they start claiming Alaska back.... :) They might!
