those were some really cool portfolios. I have one (but I haven't paid for the website in a while so it's unavailable XD) because I needed to have one for my university, but it's also really useful to just send to whoever is wondering what kind of thing you can do.
Also I never thought I could put a full scene in a show reel.. I think I'll do that, because I've been writer/director and single shots don't seem to get what I've really done across.
I agree, most people make music video show reels but for some job roles (like director) it makes sense to show the whole scene. When I looked at the portfolio submission guidelines for film schools/universities they tend to ask for full films instead of show reels with clips in them
I’m trying to get into filmschool and they need a portfolio from me to consider me being enrolled. But the thing is that i don’t really have stuff correlating to the study to put in my portfolio. I draw a lot but i don’t think they’re looking for artists. They expect me to have made short movies already but isn’t that what i’m trying to achieve by enrolling?
@@poebaker8556 hope you get better luck than I did haha. I ended up getting rejected sadly, but i was kinda expecting it. So now I’m taking a gap year, which I will use to get a good portfolio for applying next year! (Also a lot of traveling hopefully). Good luck friend
Trying to get into a film school
Thinking about it too, how’s the journey so far
