At first sight, I felt Viktor was a jealous assistant distilling hate in the shadows, as apparently shown in the first 5 seconds of the video. But with each passing episode, he built himself as an ambitious, deep, but caring individual, concerned by Jayce's well being as a colleague and as a friend; and at the same time dealing with his illness and condition. Watching him enhance himself through Hextech was a heartbreaking but logical step for his character development into the champion we know. He desperately looked for a solution to his condition, to be able to finally walk, run and live without constant pain. I think we will see the completion to this transition in the next iteration of Arcane; but we will cry as a MF when that happens

Idk if you went and read the LoL lore alr but essentially he gets kicked from the academy after Jayce goes to the counsel abt an ethical disagreement him and Viktor have over one of vik’s inventions. Most of his scientific work is scrapped and once he’s back in the undercity he spirals. He falls onto a depression and ends up removing part of his brain to rid himself of emotions + pain and starts augmenting himself with steel prosthetics. Arcane is rlly divergent from canon lore tho so I hope that the writers take some creative liberty 🤭

Viktor's current personality traits already set him up as an idealist who feels short on time, and options. He's a sweet young man who nonetheless had to claw his way to where he is, and that past experience can be a major thorn to his sweeter side as he keeps moving forward. Especially since he's tampering with forces that feed on human blood, with a disregard for safety protocols. From what we've seen so far, his idealism overrules his wisdom. When he refuses to let his inventions be used for war, it's not out of discernment or sensitivity to the current situation, but out of the ideal of helping all of humanity. And that's a good ideal to have, but if he keeps placing his ideals first sooner or later he's going to run into issues. For instance, what if one day he decides that "helping all of humanity" means forcibly augmenting everyone with Hextech? This is an extreme example, but it's to illustrate a point: even a good ideal can go bad without the proper discernment, and again we have no real reason to believe he's fully developed that discernment. This doesn't mean he's a bad person, but rather that he's pretty much set up to make some really, really bad choices later down the line. Especially after the initial early success he had with "healing" his leg. He is going to get overconfident. I don't really see how he can personally have a happy ending unless he lets go of Hextech, and I don't see how he can let go of Hextech with his values and priorities being what they are. He'd need a major revelation of some kind, and I don't think he's going to get one.
