I remember when Newcastle FC sacked Sir Bobby.
Even though I think he was heartbroken, he still attended signings and appearances that were previously booked.
The T.V. interviewer asked what he thought about their decision to fire him, and he said something along the lines of: "I love Newcastle, I'll always love Newcastle and wish them the best. I don't want to comment on it. I came here today because I didn't want to let the fans down".
That's a man.
That's a gentleman.
Rest in peace.
We need more Gazzas in today’s game
Yes, more players that beat their wives.
I won't pretend Im qualified to pass comment on the tactical abilities of Bobby Robson, but of one thing I'm sure of my capacity to pass judgement, he was of the finest quality as a human being.
I knew Gazza when I was a young man between the ages of 14 and 22 he was a quiet lad never kicked around on the streets to much was always at football training . Back then nobody called him Gazza that was an invention of the press years later when he started to come to their attention in the very early part of his career. He was known as Gasa by eveyone and called Gasa by everyone ..I remember his first "free car " sponsored by some dealership when he was in the reserve team for Newcastle it was a shitty brown coloured Renault 5 , he was dead chuffed pulled over at a junction when he saw me behind him in my equally shitty ford fiesta and jumped out and shouted " like the car Pete , I just got it " I said I didnt know you had passed your test and he replied "I haven't laughed that naughty laugh of his jumped in and drove off... he always was a genuine lad and character . I can't claim to be mates with him or nothing he was a few years younger than me and we lived on the same estate in Dunston way back when ...but I wish him peace and happiness , he deserves a happy life and good health because he is one of the good people out there in the world (football aside ) I really hopes he beats his demons and alcohol and lives a happy life without the pain that is so well documented by the press...good luck Gasa and best wishes from an aquaintance of 30+ years ago ....
Bullshit.
Brian I didn’t even get past the first 5 sentences ! And you called it,well done !!
Reportedly Bobby Robson kept calling Bryan Robson "Bobby," until he said "You're Bobby, I'm Bryan!" Truly eccentric manager and his managerial record speaks for itself, as do the many anecdotes about what a lovely man he was to know.
Bobby Robson sorely missed!
'Garth get warmed up' brilliant. God Bless you Sir Bobby.
Everyone has a hilarious gazza story. He's a brilliant, kind hearted man, crippled by alcoholism. I don't think people should ever give up hope on him. He's helped so many and a lot of people owe him favours

The wonderful, amazing man.... That was Sir Bobby Robson. 💖💖💖💖
Absolutely. Bobby robson was a great manager and great human being.
Indeed
I was lucky enough to meet Sir Bobby before a home game against Wolves in 2004. I was 13 at the time and me and about 20 other kids were waiting outside the stadium for Bobby to sign our programmes. One kid got really excited and started shouting "Bobby! Bobby! Will you sign my programme?" Bobby looks at the kid and says, "what do you say?" and the kid, a bit embarrassed, says "sorry. Please can you sign my programme?" Bobby smiles and signs all of our programmes. He was a true gent of the game and I was heartbroken when he got the sack.
BOBBY "Your playing against the best midfielder in the world"
GAZZA "No, he is"
Brilliant from Gazza
We lost the Semi
Ipswich took him on as manager who was unproven. The gamble paid off and he kept them in the 1st. Div. ( there was no Premier League then ) A couple of seasons later he had created a team that qualified for European football 10 years on the trot. An outstanding coach and a very warm - hearted individual. We won´t see the like again.
Bobby Hundreds.
Garth :-D
I've met gazza several times in London and in Spain and he is the friendliest nicest person in the world
To Robert,
Best wishes,
Bobby Hundreds. xXx
Bobby, Jack Charlton and Brian Clough all missed
Bobby Robson probably the most respected manager in English football
Newcastle have been in decline ever since they sacked the late great bobby robson. Rip great man.
Mattheus really was playing against the best midfielder in the world
Rangda Rangda gazza was english best player but no way was he the worlds best hes career was.too short didnt fully fulfil his potential
John Smith Certainly, Gazza's prime was too short because of injuries, and his battle with alcoholism / lacking personal discipline off the pitch.
@@johnsmith-mk3zq he might have been during the 90 wc though
The Bobby Hundreds story had me laughing out loud :)
gazzas story lol
gazza wat a legend
rest in peace bobby, greatest manager there has ever been,,,, what a man, broke the mold when god made him,,,, the greatest
"I took on Mattaeus, I can handle Moat and a Fishing Trip"
I am italian so if we talk about football i am a teacher without a doubt 😆😆 i was wondering so many times why england did not win european cup or world cup with so many great and fantastic players that s a mistery to me
Probably the most natural talent we've ever produced. Unreal talent in his prime.
"He wasn't the best with names."
LOL true. He once called Bryan Robson, "Bobby".
Bobby Hundreds 😂
Awesome
I feel sorry for Gazza. Most technically gifted player England has ever had. Shame his life went the way it has
Gazza is a legend
"bobby hundreds" 🤣
Haha gazza was great
Gascoigne and Hoddle were the two greatest english talents i saw. And Gascoigne could be way better if he did not have so many personal problems.
Robson1898vascao in what could he actually of been better? he was truly world class and has yet to be surpassed by any english footballer since he retired and for sheer natural ability i can only think of george best as the one player who you can compare him too. funny how they both have the same demons.
ukfirebird He could win more titles, be more recognized, could have a solid career, could've even be nominated to a ballon d'or or best world player. He had talent to achieve this. But he was most of the times overweight, had lots of personal issues.
And lets be honest, english players dont impose a high standard.
Robson1898vascao you can't compare Hoddle and Gazza, imagine if Hoddle didn't retire of the national team in 1988, and making in the 1990 world cup squad, imagine, that midfield roles, Robson,(Platt), Gazza, Hoddle, and Waddle, a very unstoppable english midfield
Bobby Robson was a good manager and great footballing coach . The press was cruel to him to make copy. None of them really knew about football. I can bet a reporter has never played football.
hahahaha yes Gazza!
LOL Gazza omg what a guy...such a shame about his personal life could have been one of the best ever...the one signing I wish UTD would have gotten, Fergie would have sorted him right out
Phillip Carr I’ve seen so many Man U fans claiming if Gazza had signed for them he wouldn’t have been such an alcoholic. What arrogant bollocks. George Best, Ray Wilkins, Paul McGrath. Three of examples of players who battled alcohol addiction whilst at Man U.
Synthesizer Patel He only got started on it at Spurs ! Fergie would have got him young and kept him straight ! Name one player that came in at the start of his career under Fergie and ended up with a drink problem ?? Zero !! Get you facts right !!
I'm saying nowt. I'm related to Gazza ha ha
how about signing the petition to get Jimmy Greaves a gong before it's too late
Playing bloody tennis lol
Aha gazza
🤣🤣🤣
lol classic
Gary Lineker why didn't you tell the story of when Steve Bull gave you a good hiding for being taking the mick out of him?
Gazzas story is about him not Bobby
England 1966 v England 190
I've always had a bit of a dislike of Newcasle United after the way they treated bobby Robson.
Chris Moyles DC?
Take that up the board. Freddie Shepherd was a quality chairman and the fans absolutely adore Sir Bobby.
Ki beh cosco cobbler ceo kobey hobey reh 💀⚽
so many of the best athletes in history have suffered from bad mental illness. what ever lable you want to write on it. bi polar, hyper active, adht, depression, the very best seem to spike so high and fall so far. its like you cant have the high without the low.
Well that's 3 mins and 21 seconds I'll never get back
Gazza's story is more about himself than Bobby Robson. The latter at least had some class about him.
bobby robson bloody legend wish we still had him now instead of whoy rogson...
er gazza was to young and beasant saved one penalty in the cup,was only a club player non league for christ sake.
good point mate
And we lost that game, oh if Gazza had been able to just grow up
Rest in peace, Gazza xxx
What?
He's not dead you fool.
Clive Bindley
Wow. I didn't know a man had to be dead to hear me say _Rest in peace._ How does that even work?
wat a fukin tool
