    David-
This was a fine piece of work, and your 2-part video is the ONE video that rules ALL ground wire by-pass videos on UA-cam, of which there are many (and poorly done). Your detailed info helped me correctly solve my Silverado crank/no-start problem by showing all the myriads of ground directions that would have been impossible for me to trace.
I can't imagine what madness drove you to stripping down the entire engine compartment wiring harnesses but thanks for doing it, this was a truly meaningful documentary. Best regards to you.

Extremely detailed I'm a wiring guy from stereos to police car up fitting with schematics for led lights, sirens arbortrator camera but this is detailed much simpler than schematics. He didn't have to do this. Much appreciated sir.

The ground wire that goes bad is below the driver side exhaust manifold. Just grab the wire and pull on it and when it breaks you need to crimp a new end on it.

Thank you! Helped me a lot found the faulty ground wire behind thr motor diver side. Every time I moved the harness pretending to be a bump on the road my engine would go low power track control and brake light on. Rewired that faulty ground wire and now I have no problems thanks!

This is a very useful overview of the gm vortec wiring harness and it's potential faults due to particular wire failures. thank you. this could help aid many specific truck conditions, and implies logical ways to fix those issues.

I cut all those splice packs out and used regular butt crimps , solved most problems, on the back of the motor drivers side that harness tends to wear through exposing bare wire those control the trans O2 sensor and speed o found those repaired them transmission is smooth as butter

Thank you so much. I watched the whol video but I was wondering if there are any grounds to the steering sensors or anything to do with the steering position signal? My 2007 avalanche had a code for the steering position signal wnd also for the rollover sensor performance. I got an alignment done today and the shop only did a reset not a relearn and the steering shows uncentered. I replace the boot at the bottom of the steering column and think i messed something up but dony know what..

David- I have a real challenge wanted to see if you can help. I have a 2004 Chevy Avalanche and when I go to turn it over all I get is the clicking. Long story short I replaced the starter, did work. I then replaced my still under warranty battery still didn't work. I thought it may be starter relay but didn't work. I then checked my battery with multimeter while it was running to make sure the alternator was charging. I only got 12.6 volts max. So decided to replace the alternator but it is still not charging my battery and truck won't crank without my jump box. Please help!!!

My '05 Burban 2500 goes into low power mode. Left headlight was dim while it was idling. I unplugged the headlight and that killed the engine! Messed my brain up...now it cranks, but no start. And I have to wait 2 mins before it will crank again! Grrrrr.

That one there goes to there, this one here goes to that one over there, that other one is also a ground that goes to there, these three here go to there, on the other side there are two that go here, and one that goes back behind there and another one that follows the other one to there also... 😆

Turned it on and it was showing 17 on gauge. Pulled it into garage and turned it off and on then regulated again back to 14.5v let it sit overnight and no problem. Took it out tonight and turned off gauge didn't reset stayed at 14v when off turned it on and now it's a 19v radio didn't turn on but was super hot any idea of bad ground possibly?

I found the ground to firewall broken today but only problem I have is fuel gauge quit working and it’s not holding fuel pressure once key is off to engine…I also have high circuit check engine light P0463. I’ve been trying to diagnose fuel for a bit now with work kids and also trying I fix my 96 Sierra this just said hi today what are the chances? I know this a avalanche myn is 11 sierra 5.3

If you're loosing fuel pressure after ignition is off it's not an electrical it's a fuel system problem...mine when switch off fuel pressure dropped like a rock and would restart hard and smoke....turned out diaphragm in fuel pressure regulator was busted and dumping fuel through vacuum hose to intake manifold...how do you check?...pull intake manifold end of vacuum hose going to fuel pressure regulator and sucknon it. If you taste gas then diaphragm is broken and fuel is going thru where it's not supposed to....replace fuel pressure regulator
