Thanks you so much for this pattern. The only part I wish you didn't skip is how to end the top strap. Is it attached with a slipstitch? And I am going to add like peplum, make it longer. Just wondering if you might have idea's for what stitch to use.
thanks for this pattern, this top is so cute!! 💖💖 also I think I understand what that commenter was saying about yarning under - when you do your double crochets, you yarn over, pull a loop through, and then yarn under twice instead of yarning over the entire time. I really don't think it makes a difference, though. it's just fun seeing how different people crochet ☺
I had never even realized that’s how I crochet until that one comment pointed it out. Now I think about it all the time 😂I have tried crocheting with the consistent yarn over but there is almost no difference so I just keep on doing it my way .
Thank you, its a nice top. Only wish you would tell what hook have you used and more details on yarn and the sizing, like what size is this top. Scared to try :)))) may be I will find more detailed top, I'm a bit new in crocheting. But its a nice idea, thanks!
I have published the written pattern, which contains better instructions on how to size up. illjay.com/collections/crochet/products/pdf-pattern-boho-crochet-halter-top
I see it's an old post. But if you haven't fogured it out yet. If you make this pattern longer how it is, it won't properly fit anymore. It stops before the hips. What I am doing is follow the pattern and when it's done I'll add more that Will also go wider.. like peplum.
Why do you yarn under when you do your stitches? Is it intentional for this particular item or is that just your stylistic choice? If you're purporting to teach people how to do something (for example I noticed it right away on your double crochet stitch) you should do it the proper way so folks learn to do it right before adding their own twist.
Thank you for sharing your design; easy to follow tutorial. I love my new halter top. 🫀

Yarn under keeps your stitches tighter.

4mm hook, worsted weight cotton, all sizes start the same and add more rows for larger sizes.
Cute top, you never mentioned the yarn weight. Is it a weight 3 or a weight 2? I can’t tell.
Weight 4 cotton
@@crochet.with.illjay Oh wow it looks thin! thanks for replying

This is so pretty! How do you size up for a bigger size?
Just do more rows, the beginning the the same.

If I make it longer to cover the tummy will that affect the fit over the bust? Like if I add about 8-10 more rows?
Yes I think it would make the bust wider.

she's literally not doing anything wrong. that's just the way she learned to crochet.
