Sabah or north borneo is not yet part of Malaysia at this time, Sabah, Sarawak and Singapore join Malaysia Federation on 16 September 1963. but Singapore left Malaysia on 9 August 1965 bcuz of some racist affairs happened at that time.(more like politic affairs)

The people of Borneo showed incredible bravery, risking their lives and those of their families to help. The death march is not well known in Australia as the story was so distressing it was covered up as the Ministry felt the relatives of the victims wouldn't be able to handle the thought of their loved ones being tortured, beaten and starved to death, some, after the war was officially over. And in the rush to reconcile with Japan in the post war world, after the initial war crimes trials, the story was over. Also, because there were only a handful of survivors there was never a critical mass to tell the story. All six survivors were Australians. Not one of the British prisoners survived to tell their story.
ada orang dusun di yunan ka bro?i'd like to see the community of dusun in yunan..can you show me?where do they live?or give me a link,so i can find it on the internet..tq..appreciate it..
Keith Botterill is my father, he escaped with Bill, Andy and Nelson. Unfortunately "Andy" Anderson died at the hut near Ranau, but without the invaluable and heroic assistance of the Dusun people my father and his friends, Bill Moxham and Nelson Short would not have survived. I thank the heroic Dusun people.
