- I went to capybara & cat cafe in Japan Tokyo, which is called Capy Neko Cafe Kichijoji. There are several cat cafe in Japan. But it's quite rare that you can communicate with capybara & cat at same time😍 I's first for me to see capybara actually. But capybara is so cute and really healed me👍 This cafe is very popular now, so you better book before you visit. 😀👏 It takes only 3 min. walk from Kichijoji station at Tokyo. So this may be good place to visit when you travel around Tokyo😀👍

Capybara are very social animals and live in a group of 10. They should have atleast one more capybara
A nice place. But they should have a second Capybara, the are social like their relatives, the well known guinea pig.
This is what I thought too. I asked shop owner that looking for second one. I hope second capybara will be came soon.

Capybaras need friends of their own species plus water to swim in plus more space to move around!
Usually capybara cafe has another space to swim or take bath. Shop owner already know need to add other capybara and now looking for another one.

Capybaras are social animals who require access to water. There should be at least 2 (preferably many more) in a group and water there can freely access and at least wallow or preferably swim in.

Fear not! We have capys throughout Brazil as well. Not in big cities, of course. I used to live in a small town and I've seen a fair share of capybaras just chilling. Honestly it's kinda funny how as a kid I was terrified of them - a giant rat (that probably makes all da rules /ref) would easily scare an already cowardly kid, I'll give younger me some compassion for that, hahah
Though wild ones can still carry diseases. It's wise not to touch them if you see them strolling on the wild. "Domesticated" and rehabilitated capys, not so much, they're pretty safe.
We do have a few family units here in Curitiba. Dunno if it counts as a 'big city' but they are pretty popular for just chilling in one of our parks.
sure, tons of capys in Brazil. but you can't pet them which is a problem for someone who wants to pet them 😂😂

Shop owner of capybara usually know that capybara needs place with water. So usually there is another place to take bath or swim👍
You really need to bring to a pool or lake to let it swim around; other wise its like not letting dog run around. They get sad and depressed otherwise and just sleep all day.

This is weird! When I think of capybaras I imagine them loose in their natural habitat, relaxing in rivers and lakes, interacting and living with other capybaras, and feeding on forest vegetation, not in a room just eating and lying down.
