I have a theory on what the corruption is, or at least what powers it. I've seen throughout every single Corruption Mod that every time, it's the player who is in control of the corrupted character, mostly BF but sometimes DD or Pico. Every time we as the Corruption fight someone, we beat them, and they are overtaken by the corruption. Now my theory on how this happens, no matter how strong the character is, is because our resolve to beat the song and win the fight is driven through as corruption. So when we go through a hard song, we try our best to hit as many of the notes as possible because we want to beat the character we are going up against, and since our will is so great, we hardly ever fail and that character gets corrupted. Our will to win overshadows the opponent's will to survive, and then they are corrupted. Although, sometimes people can break out of the corruptions hold and even break some other characters free as well, because their will to live at that moment is greater than ours, thus pushing the corruption back until that will expires and our growing will to win once again overshadows their's. This is all a theory.
I like how bf uses his angel power cuz I think bf never showed his power to anyone I think he keep it secret and I also think he only uses it for emergency it's like bf is a demon I thought he was a demon when he has an yellow glowing on his eyes but now I know he is angel

id say if this were to happen, bf and gf would cannonly have endless tries to beat the corruption, making them technically immortal&immune to the corruption
But as stated by Shaggy, whenever Boyfriend loses, he reverses time so he can fight again, and whenever you mess with time, a new timeline is created so in those timelines where Boyfriend loses he is corrupted in those and there will be no hope for that world.
