A Day In The Life Of A Professional Cellist

- I figured I’d show you a snapshot from my life as a professional cellist. Here’s a sample day, where I have both a dress rehearsal and a concert. Join me to learn a little bit about orchestra life, my routine when I’m going to play a giant symphony, and much more.
Oh, and a special feature of Johann Sebastian Bark! :)
As always, I’d be honored if you said hello in the comments, and/or liked/subscribed. And if you’re an adult who wants to start learning cello, please check out my course here:

And if you’d like to connect on Instagram, I’d love that!

Make sure to check out the other videos I have, too, especially if you need help with something particular at the cello. I’ve not only done a series of online master classes on UA-cam, but I’ve also uploaded over 100 practice videos on all kinds of different pieces.
I hope you have a beautiful day, and I look forward to seeing you in the next video!

Life is good here my friend.
Do you know of any interviews done with professional cellists?
I'm thinking of possibly aiming for it as a career, but I don't know the exact details of everything it would entail yet! Like how often are group rehearsals, and if the pay is liveable, and if the atmosphere of the orchestra is similar to one of youth orchestras!
I'm not sure of any interviews, but there is a lot of stuff about this kind of thing on my channel, with more to come. To answer one of your questions from my own perspective, rehearsal schedules depend, but we usually have a maximum of 4 rehearsals, including the dress, before a concert. Fewer sometimes, including occasionally just 1, and sometimes more for something larger in scale, like an opera. It's a really tough path leading up to getting a job in an orchestra, but it is rewarding if it happens. I hope that helps you as a starting point to your questions!

That stove you cook on has to go away. Cook with natural heat. Cook with fire.
I agree with you, I definitely find it easier to cook on a gas stove...unfortunately, I don't have any choice in the matter as a renter!
@@CelloBen Then you need to find another place to live. It’s so important. You can’t play your cello well if you are sick.
