Don't forget that a Chinese, Indian, African restaurant with a 3.5 is likely to be the best most authentic place. Your gtg if the reviews are alot of one stars from people not liking the service. Or alot of people saying the food is to spicy.
Or people complaining the waiters were rude. If the waiter at the Chinese restaurant is too nice then I don't trust the food!

I think the reason people think anything below 4/5 is bad is because they're erroneously thinking with school grade percentages, so 5/5 are A, 4/5 is a B, 3/5 is a D, 2/5 and 1/5 are F, whereas realistically 5/5 is A, 4/5 is B, 3/5 is C, 2/5 is D and 1/5 is F.

Toss VR re reviewed it in the stream where companies send him games and demos. It was (for him) a standout game because he could be a monkey and swing around... in VR. Sadly Mouse currently lacks the mobility to play the game.
The Japanese give negative reviews if the chef isn't polite enough, along with staff. The review do not purely reflect the taste of the food.
Americans are the reason why youtube videos goes from 5 stars reviews to likes and dislikes.

youtubes user engagement numbers and corporate/advertiser influence are the reason for the likes and dislikes. yeah i greatly prefer star ratings though and with exact decimals ideally. a binary is more misleading
That's just California I guess, everywhere I've lived has reviews ranging from 1-5 stars not 1 or 5.
It’s an American cultural thing. It’s not like every review but it’s definitely something you just see and it’s not geographic (having lived in five different states)
because Japan actually care about what they put in their body, and since they also care about the amount of food, they would want the limited amount that they eat everyday to be the best that they can get
