Why is it that almost every Mexican outlet loves to cover the “what if” story. We knew Alexis could’ve gone to Europe but we all know why he didn’t. This is one of the reasons Mexico is where it is. Too concentrated on the past and caught up in the obsession of old rumors
people discuss the "what ifs" because it we get examples of Mexico's problems with every single generation of players. We have u17 world cup championships (2005, 2011) u20 3rd place (2011) olympic gold medal winners (2012) bronze medal winners (2020) and ONE top flight/professional world title in the 1999 confederations cup. If we cant see what could've been then there is no way to figure out what went wrong along the way. Young players are not just competitive but winning, on a consistent basis, against South American and European teams. Teams that eat Mexico's lunch when we face them in serious competitions. What if we sent more young talent out of Mexico? or what if the liga mx wasn't such a comfortable place for mediocrity? What if the pest players actually played and the popular players sat out international games? I don't want it to sound like I'm forgiving the federation for their corruption and greed, but without thinking we could be more, there is no point in fixing the problem.
While this may be true, the US team has no chance of winning a world cup for the next 20 years and that's a fact. Best athletes does not equal best team at all. The US is trash lol
@@kevGrajeda09 We know what the problem is.. looking at past events is to Learn from them apply them to future generations. You know Mexico clearly isn’t doing anything to benefit their young players. Your point stands if we take a step back and say damn what went wrong. In Mexicos case WE all know what’s wrong and nothing is changing so why obsess over “Chucky could have gone to x team” or what if Vela played at Barca. Like cmon we know the truth behind the disaster that is liga Mx and the federation
The only reason why we suck is because of the Mexican federation that is so corrupt not allowing us call up youth players to the senior squad to allow to develop players that’s why we suck we do have prospecting youth players it’s just they go un noticed and when we do give younger players a chance they don’t get any minutes to even our best player Santi gimenez is treated horribly I he should always be the starter and it’s not fair to him how Mexico treats him
jajajajaj la unica razon por la que estan "atascados" es porque son horribles y sin talento y eso que son 130 millones jugando futbol, dejen de inventar teorias conspiranoicas. el unico decente de ese equipo es un argentino nacionalizado
@Clips_FN: You're right, but also it is the sum of all its parts. While I never played soccer in high school, I did play American football. As a player, I took responsibility for everything I did and didn't do on the field. I lived in Mexico, I know it's every kid's dream to make it to the Selección Mexicana. So, I know the players want to win because they want the become national heroes. The only possible, logical, and reasonable explanation is that the team has some type of mental dysfunction. They play the game with a heavy heart, trying to overcompensate, and end up playing with a lot of anxiety and failing to perform. So, what I'm trying say the Mexicana Federation has a lot blame, but in the end, it is the guys (or Gueyes) in the field should have the final responsability.
santi had to go to wc and they took raul,,who was hurt, not 100%, that is pure corruption, favoritism, they need to always play santi and others always together, getting to know each other on the field,,,they have playeres like romo, charly, jorge sanchez,,national team is full of corruption, several coaches have said this too, they take players that they are told to take that they don't want...raul scored yesterday and watch how they will talk about that for over a month,it's incredible how they want certain players
As a US fan, Mexico’s mentality is one of the big reasons why they are where they are currently. When your best talent is reportedly unprofessional, then you have big issues. The mentality of the fanbase is also a problem. They still buyout the product that’s on the field
Thank you 🙏 for admitting that you’re biased in the beginning of your reporting. Some decent insight in what you’ve said but in the end about El Tri winning it all in 2026 😂was indeed a laugher, even more so as watching the Mexican fan’s reaction when they lose again by the infamous score of 2-0. Maybe I’ll subscribe to your channel for some more laughs 😂, the saying is laughter is the best medicine, so please 🙏 bring it
Agreed, mexican fans are paying these liga mx inflated salaries with their continued viewing and following the league. They dont have the sense to realize they need to stop and request better
1. Limit the number of foreigners in LigaMx. 2. Improve youth player development. 3. Leagues Cup is a better metric of MLS vs LigaMx as it is in the middle of the MLS season.
Agreed. Mexican teams have like no break in their split calander so they are always geared to go for the most part. When Champion's League/cup rolls around for MLS, they're barely getting out of bed in their season. Gives the Mexicans teams a huge boost. But that's also MLS and Don Garber's fault for putting them through that.
@bulletproofman323 yeah and you could also say mexican teams are coming in tired and MLS Teams are coming in fresh bottom line stop using that excuse bruh
@DanielGarcia-lr6vr are you an athlete on any level? Because I'll tell you that it's much harder to play more games (34 in the current MLS season) and take more time off (3 months) than it is to play 17 matches (the current Liga MX season) and have a month off and come back. You don't lose as much conditioning during the break, you hit your stride quicker from coming back to play fairly quickly. Not saying MLS is right in doing that, I hate that it's a thing, but it's true. The Mexican teams aren't that far above in terms of their quality of play, the scheduling just gives Liga MX a leg up in general no matter how you slice it (again, Don Garber's fault). My point is, the gap in play is not nearly as big as you think.
The federation is controlled by Televisa & sponsors, who control who plays in the national team. That’s why Raul Jimenez went to the WC while still not being fully recovered because he came through America which had rights from Televisa.
@@calc1657 Jamaica is playing with strong physical prowess, their skill is still mediocre. Soccer is a team game, and if you are only trying to play for yourself, like Mexico players, then the US is possibly the best in North America.
As an American, I've extended my branch from "I want the USA to win a World Cup" into "I want a North American team to win a World Cup." The USA is the best team right now, but in terms of natural talent and love for the game, Mexico is our best hope.
We could have all the young talent in the world but good would that be if they’re not given the chance to show it? The federation would rather have scrubs like ochoa and others to play instead of actual young talent
Mexico our best hope? Mexico has had the same soccer culture for the past century and got nowhere near a world cup. The US is entering a golden generation and the game is only growing - who knows how big it will get here. Going forward I'd say the US are the biggest hope. Mexico could do it, but then again not much has changed for their soccer culture in the last 100 years to bring them any closer.
@@TheStoneCodeArt Good job bud, you really got me there. Glad you were able to understand what I implied, I will do better next time. My apologies for referring to a group of people the exact way they have been referred to for the last 250 years
Mexico's problem is allowing too many foreigners into their clubs, nepotism, and greed. Every team in Mexico has 9 out of 11 players from Columbia, Ecuador, Argentina, Peru, Chile, and Uruguay, those players block young talent from getting a spot and because the foreigners are a cheaper low-risk investment, so teams don't bother bringing up good talent because it's too much work and effort. Also, because of a lot of nepotism, players that don't deserve to be there get through to clubs and the national team and block other youth talents. Worst of all, what little talent gets through is often ignored for the sake of keeping players like Ochoa on the squad, Ochoa bring in way more money from sponsors and fans because he is more famous than players like Malagon so it is crucial for the money that Ochoa is there and in goal. Those problems stunt growth, produce shit, and throw out what little goods there are to the wastesides.
True but every league in the world has mostly foreigners lmao so that ain't an excuse they just ain't good enough tbh , talent isn't there , and yes hella corruption. I'm not a Mexico fan but I'm js how it is , also they seem happy with beatings the Honduras panamas of the world rather than beating some real competition
The Central American and south American foreigners bring down the leagues overall level. Back then liga Mx players could handle European Leagues because the foreigners limit was 4 on each field. The only ones that I’m fine with are players like javairo, Gignac, and others who have player in European leagues because they bring the leagues level up. But Mexicos biggest enemy is itself.
I missed the part about telerisa and how azcarraga family has the national team by the neck.. And only alloweds players from america play Also bring back copa mx and let the 3rd division and 2nd division participated in copa mx screw the leagues cup... Bring 20 or 22 teams to the first division.. Relegate the 3 worst team each season.. And also they should stop about the certification of the Stadium ... Have ppl even seen the tigres stadium or pumas stadium.. They are really in bad conditions All they care is about the money and not the fans or team i know this sport is a business but come on at least they should hide they real colors
It’s funny how club America doesn’t send their own to Europe with a 10-20% future income when the player is purchased. Like if they want malagon or quinones to be the “hero” then why not send them to Europe. They’ll earn much more with sponsorship and will end up giving more money to club America in the long run. Who know Quiñones may turn into a 100M player but only if club America lets the Mexican players migrate to European leagues.
@@Domestic-r1i 100m ?😂😂 no one wants Mexican players because they’re weak mentally , expect to start for being average , and clubs would rather have a South American cause they’ll actually work for their spot. They make more money in Mexico unless your a superstar sponsorship money isn’t life changing to them.
First time viewer that has nothing to do with México, a very informative and very well edited essay that I didn’t know needed to know, but liked watching all the way. Lemme just… hit… that..subscri- yeah there we go. Much love from germany amigo:]
Lol right? I love being a USA fan. When we win, it's special. When other national teams lose, they cry, go on a bender, trash their bedroom, etc. When USA loses, we're like "Oh no; anyway..."
USMNT fans have our issues/concerns as well. We've got corruption in our federation same as Mexico does. That's how we ended up with Gregg Berhaulter (twice). Our advantage is that 1) MLS clubs have less power in our Federation. 2) Our players (for the most part) have challenged themselves and fought for places in European leagues. We may not have as many players in the EPL as we once did, but our players have found homes contributing in the Championship, La Lega, Seria-A, Holland, Belgium, etc...
@@bb-double-yuh im mexican american, so i had ample time on who i wanted to support. i eventually went with USA. why? the disrespect that happened to Trinidad in 2015 gold cup. at that time watching that match i was supporting Mexico because of obvious reasons, but when that trinidadian player got pelted by trash while trying to do a corner kick and immeidatly scores. i was like "karma's a bitch".
It's pretty funny how Ochoa lovers always say "See, we told you so. We need Ochoa" when we lose or "See how it isn't Ochoa's fault?" but in reality we're playing catch up of all these years we could have benefited from having a younger goal keeper to gain experience. Maybe it isn't Ochoa's fault that we sometimes call some of the worst, most uncoordinated defenders but it is Ochoa's fault that he's not willing to step down so younger keepers can gain more confidence by playing both big and small games. I know that he himself suffered a long time when conejo Perez kept getting called and he would have to sit on the bench but he should be the first person to know how that feels! He needs to break the cycle, not keep it going!
On Henry Martín, the US made him look like a jobber, straight up garbage. On the US side, what the US has decided to do is develop talent and sell it to Europe, an example would be the Chicago Fire sold their outstanding goalkeeper to Chelsea and with that money bought Shaqiri. Liga MX in my opinion, should do that, develop players and sell them and get money. Number 2 the federation needs to do what Germany did during the 90s and 00s in order to compete with the rest of the world. A good video I recommend is HITC seven's video on México as well.
There’s too much money to be made with potentially good Mexican players. The FMF don’t care about talent they want to market the name and make as much money as possible.
The problem is that Liga MX is trying to be the MLS, by making it a closed league (no pro/rel) and the expansion of liguilla (just like the MLS playoffs expanded)
We just don't evolve and we are still depeneding on memo to save us when his best days are behind him the level of mexican futbol has just dropped in general atleast its what it feels like i always think of our old squad with players like oswaldo sanchez, torrado, rafa marquez, osorio, salcido, omar bravo, jared borgetti, ramon morales, pavel pardo, andres guardado, arellano, bofo bautista, palacios just to name a few.
Ive already Accepted that mexico will stay dogshit for another decade or two after that world cup that i knew they were not gonna make it out of that group, So ive made my peace and moved on from em and honestly thats the best one can do until the federation corruption is gone which as we all know is never so GGs. Side note : in a recent post fan nterview of the Venezuela mexico game, the "fans" going to these games legit said they dont care about the loss and only thing that mattered was them being in the stadium and cheering the team which gives another reason why the federation dont give af about the results they get since even the fans dont care either lmao
Very good video. I’m a USA fan, but a rivalry is only good when it is competitive, and for the past five years it hasn’t been. Hope Mexican football can sort out its issues, it’s bonkers that they’ve never even made the semis of a World Cup. Biggest underachievers in world football history by far
One of my favorite thing to do in Mexico is play soccer over there and see all the talented ballers they have , its sad to see the S/hit players we send to the world cup with all the talent they really have
There’s many reasons why Mexico doesn’t have many good players left. First one, There’s too many foreign players in liga Mx that are old which prevent Mexican youngsters from playing. Last night, a the golden boot winner from the u17 gold cup debuted with a goal. That spot was originally given to an old washed up foreigner. Second, the managers don’t want Mexicans to leave to Europe and instead they send their own to Europe. For example, the Pachuca coach said that he’s aware that Erick Sanchez is a go to player for Mexico and that he doesn’t want to let go of him. The pumas coach said that he too doesn’t want to let go of Huerta because of his potential and his ability to play well. The foreign coaches hold them back which leads to less skilled players for the Mexican national team. Third, the bottom tier teams got rid of promotion and relegation which lead to liga Mx’s quality to go down by a lot. Back then Mexico could grab a squad of Mexicans that mainly played in liga Mx along with two that played in Europe and reach 2nd place in copa America. Now, the team struggles to play against its own in CONCACAF and Uzbekistan or Australia. Fourth, the FMF sees Mexico as a product to make cash, yes it’s been a thing for a while but now it’s worse. Most players that get called up are either heavily sponsored or forced upon that come from or are in club America. Some of them deserve the spot but others don’t and it just makes the team worse. There’s like 5 that don’t deserve the spot and still get started. My family has always told me that televisa(owned by the same guy that owns club America) forced players into the nations team. Coaches have come out and said that players were force onto the team. the fans keep going to the games. They just keep going and the FMF makes more money off of dollars than cash. Mexico is the only team that doesn’t play home games unless they are qualifiers or when they host but that happens every ten games. Hopefully Mexico gets back to where it was because right now we have many youngsters in Europe that probably won’t be ready to play until 2026 or 2030. It would be a miracle if they do reach their main teams in Europe.
The USA is worse historically. The reason Mexico gets so much backlash is because everyone knows they have the spirit and players to become big again. USA on the other hand are just starting to get big
Bro the problem isn’t just logs MX and the federation. It’s that you guys don’t send younger players to other leagues as well. Not to top off how the Mexican Federation is corrupt and the coaches don’t ever get enough time to train or help the players before they get replaced or fired. This is actually why the US is getting younger n younger talent, as the MLS works with their young talent to export them into prime leagues like Germany, England or even France.
Shit at this rate, Mexican soccer won't even have LigaMX over MLS at the rate that talent is raising in MLS lmao. The US has always been clowned on by many countries, especially Mexico, but football was never taken seriously in the US up until the past decade or so really and in that decade, theyve grown so much past Mexico that it's crazy. You'd think with how passionate the people of Mexico is, that there might be a ton of talent pouring out from there but their just isn't. Unless major changes happen soon, the US-Mexico rivalry is going to continue being extremely one sided.
As an American I agree with everything you've said. As much as I hate to say it, it's kind of sad to see the decline of Mexico's National scene as they were always fun to watch. I was definitely hoping they would do better in the 2018 world cup than they did. I was hoping they would go through to the round of 16 so I could see a North American team competing against the giants.
Bro I’ve been watching the national team since 2005 and everyone who saying this is the worst national team ever either forgot the past or just started recently watching the national team like since 2017. 2013 was the worst national team, don’t forget the only reason they qualified was because of USA, if not, there would have been no World Cup for Mexico in 2014 despite a good performance in 2014. In 2013 they couldn’t beat USA and lost to USA then. When was Mexicos best? In 2005-2006 when they were close to beating the best? Mexicos best is Argentina’s worst performance
Thats true bro, honestly it comes down to recency bias alot of the time lol. What we’re seeing unfold infront of us feels so recent so every bad period is going to feel like “The Worst” you know?
In my opinion, Liga MX have been importing South American players since 2000 and relegrates native players' playing time. Have you notice that Liga MX topscorer sheet every season in the last 20 years have been loaded by South American players?
Welp we got the humiliation defeat from Uruguay happened. I am so pissed off, even my DAD is pissed off the most. Me and my dad mostly talk about how much we miss the old days of Mexico pre 2016 especially LigaMX. I can’t blame my Dad since he is a PUMAS super fan and keeps saying he misses a lot of the old days. Now we are watching more of the Premier League of England and it is COMPLETELY NIGHT AND DAY DIFFERENCE. We are so engaged of the matches they have, especially the system they used, and we are so entertained by really good players. Which LigaMX should’ve done everything what the premier league does. It’s so frustrating that our favorite national fallen off hard and we can’t bear to see it again. I hope changes will happen, like the get rid of the corrupted higher ups of the federation and change the whole system.
Relegation is dumb. Because Veracruz atlante etc will only bring in more foreign players that will not benefit the future young players, specifically when they are under pressure to getting relegating. Chivas and atlas for example will probably suffer the most and both clubs have good youth academy’s.
You forgot to emphasize that NOT only do these players get paid an ABSURD amount of money, but they also live like CELEBRITIES in Mexico. Not only do they get those MILLIONS of dollars a year ($14,000 per DAY, in your example) but the price for things in Mexico is WAY way lower than the average price for things in say, USA or even Europe. In this example, $14,000 dollars would go A LONNNNNG way for your average low to mid class in Mexico: that's ALOT of money. These Mexican players could get paid your average MLS players salary and they'd TECHNICALLY still be rich. (Just because everything is WAY cheaper in Mexico) Yeah, its fricking CRAZY.
this is good for lLga MX its time for Mexico to developed their own style and if that means trial by error then so be it. look how bad Brazil has fallen, they are disaster having a coach sticking the JOGA Bonito way but the players inherently only play the "technical EPL Way"
Theres definitely an argument to be made that trying something new can be beneficial but atleast short term it doesnt seem to be working out. But lets see how long term goes
Truthfully I use the the Mexican national team and Liga MX as an example of why I do not want to keep the US’s best talent in MLS. Liga MX club owners did everything in their power to prevent the exportation of talent to Europe the team has gotten worse. First off Mexico’s best talent doesn’t get face top notch players till a international tournament. Secondly how many U17 top players spend their early 20’s riding the bench in Liga MX? A lot.
I think MLS bringing in stars like Messi and Suarez could be beneficial, not just from a financial point of view but for mentorship to these U S. Players as well. Think about it, if a player takes his time to learn from Messi and implement these changes to his game. They would come out for the better and get better deals overseas. Mexico is hindering their player's growth by keeping them in the country, only competing against each other and being comfortable with their salaries.
Messi & Co coming to MLS COULD be a great opportunity for MLS if they capitizle on it but theres also other issues like Pro/Rel and play offs which hinder the seriousness of the league
Im 100% american. I support the US but there’s SO many problems with mexico that it’s gotten to a point where it’s just lowkey saddening. Call me a conspiracy theorist but i think the players that do get called up have a better chance of doing so if they play for teams like Chivas or Club America since those clubs are household names. And to another extent, Monterrey, Cruz Azul, and Santos Speaking of Santos, Ochoa should retire to force mexico to call up Carlos Acevedo. But what do i know? Im just a pinche americano.
As a part-time Mexican, the 1973 TRI was the even worse that this team. but really, Mexico has had a really sad international "Soccer" history , In the first World Cup in 1930, Mexico was the first country to received a goal, also was the first country to lose a game. also was the first country to score an own goal , and consequently was the team to end up in last place in a World Cup. And it wasn't until 32 years later, in 1962, Mexico won its first WC game. However, Mexico managed to become the local superpower for a lot of years. Now, the future seems very bleak. I am very sad to see what is going on. But also, I know that my country USA has a tendency to strive for improvement in all fields of life, I cannot see EL TRi becoming the predominant pwerhouse that it once was. Still, I would like it to do so. I have so many precious memories when Mexico scored. Buena Suerte a todos!!
There’s definitely avenues that Mexico can take to regain a dominant status but it all depends on how they handle this departure from COPA America! Informative comment bro thank you!
HAD HOPE FOR THIS TEAM FROM WATCHING THE PAST GAMES BUT ONCE AGAIN THEY DISSAPOINTED ME I STILL HAVE HOPE FOR EM BUT I KNOW THEY AINT PERFECT ALOT TOO WORK ON ESPEICALLY FROM THE HIGHER UPS
With the right coach Mexico can compete against anyone. WITH Liga MX players. But Jimmy is NOT the right coach, also locking up out youth talent (not letting them play), over paying players, and not playing youth player is not help either. 100% we have some of the best youth academies, but the development stops at the senior side. Mexico doesn't need to send players to away IF they're bringing top talent to Mexico. EASILY Liga Mx can be the next Eredivise if they focused on the youth and brought in players like Oussama Idrissi. Still, there is no excuse to why Mexico can't beat US. Personally I think Mexico only ever played good under El Piojo. Mexicans are short and quick. We are MADE for quick counters. We have never been good at possession football, and we struggle all the time against teams that park the bus.
You don't need any "qualifications" to talk about why the Mexican national team is a joke right now. The problem is so obvious that any football fan can put two & two together except for Liga MX fans who are so die hard for their club to win another domestic league trophy. They encourage their best players to stay in their league to win more meaningless trophies. The real growth will always bee in Europe.
Mexico has a lot of soccer talents, even in the US, but soccer is not only emotional and talent driven, but also should be directed to the right goal. Currently, Mexico has no direction, no talents, and majority of the players are for themselves.
Tbf at this point I think the only reason why Liga mx is better than MLS is because of the wages. Some Liga Mx teams have wage bills higher then some European teams (obviously not higher then top European teams like man united, Real Madrid, and etc.) but some do have higher wage bills then some medium-good size European clubs. While in the MLS unless someone is a designated player teams can only spend less then what? Like $6 million a year on the players who aren’t designated players. In my opinion even though I prefer watching Liga Mx since I’m a Monterrey fan if the MLS either increased or removed their salary cap I don’t really see Liga Mx being the better league anymore since their are American players who couldn’t make it Europe but they come back to the MLS with European experience while some Mexican players don’t even have that experience since many of them haven’t left for Europe before. I know this video is mainly about the Mexican national team however I see this also having a potential impact on Liga mx in the future as well if like I previously stated if the MLS was to remove or increase their salary cap.
Yuuuup thats very real bro. Many people compared the signings of MLS vs Saudi when messi and ronaldo moved and people forgot theres a salary cap. So many MLS teams have crazy money but cant/dont want to spend.
Mexican football has been on a slow decline ever since 1999. Even though things got rough especially on the road to Brazil, there was always hope from the fans. But at Qatar, it was deader than hell. Even now that the world cup is back in Mexico there really isnt any feeling or expecation from the fans. USA has way better odds of becoming champions than Mexico does nowadays
From watching the last USA v. Mexico game, I'd argue Ochoa is the reason it was only 2-0. The thing about Mexico friendlies here though: most games in the South West of the USA are basically home games for Mexico anyway. AT&T stadium had more Mexico supporters at it than USA. I will say that the pro/rel is definitely holding both Liga MX and MLS back, and so is the fact that 18 out of 29 MLS teams make the play offs (9 from each conference), which is the majority of teams. So both MLS and Liga MX are promoting being mediocre. But, you totally hit the nail of the head. MLS is developing young talent and then selling it overseas which allows young Americans to develop, while Mexico keeps all it's talent in Mexico, and while there is nothing wrong with that, there really isn't the skill level of the competition to really push the players to the next level. Sure Liga MX wins most of the CCC matches, but outside of the MLS there isn't really any league that can compete for that. Even the best Caribbean and Central American players are going to Europe, MLS, or USL to play professionally which is why the national teams are gaining on both USA and Mexico. TBH, all of CONCACAF needs fixed because it's seen as one of the worst Confederations in world football
Thanks for the comment bro but yeah I definitely agree. Concacaf as a whole in unfortunately hinder by alot of the socioeconomic factors that are involved but from a footballing sense we could be doing way better
The US looks strong only against Mexico. I haven’t seen them play with as much passion against any other national team. If the US focused on playing like how they play against Mexico for every other game they would be dangerous.
Team sucks also because team owners only recruit players with rich daddies that can pay extra to get them in the team. It’s short term profit without any regard for long term success. To them, success is making revenue, not winning championships.
There has never been any "downfall" in the team itself, it's just that Mexico has never progressed as a national team so it just looks like a downfall since everyone else got better and prgressed
It’s not just Mexico is regressing. But the United States is better than they have ever been. They have great players at some of the best teams in Europe and doing well there!
Yeah grizzlies, the US has seen a progressive football culture thats taken some time and unfortunately for Mexico their shortcomings have been expedited
And they believing on Simpson's prediction that mexico and portugal will go to the final😂. Lol not a chance coz too many national teams also improving. Maybe Netherlands could win first the world cup before Portugal
@@crow_g1639 when it comes to football they missed spectacularly then, mexico and portugal on a world cup final is something that can only happen on playstation lol
There are too many issues that were pointed out. Start by playing games in Mexico. The mexican kids will not get looked at in the USA. So, don't reward the US market.
The US best players are not playing in MLS. So any case against the US due to MLS not being competitive with LigaMx is a non starter. Take all our team a mostly U23 side with Pulisic, Tyler, Weston, Turner as over 25. All those U23 guys have dozens of caps from 17-23 in European leagues. They have a huge head start over Mexican top players who are still considered young 25 getting first starts in LigaMx. That is one of the major problems the Mexican team faces when they can’t use technical ability as the deciding factor vs the U.S. anymore. The US players have always been physically superior, now with that technical ability it’s like Mexico is facing a mid tier European side every time they play. Plus the US coaching Berhalter and BJ (interim head coach) have out coached Mexico three head coaches this decade. Mexico will have to up its game and find a way to get even with the US otherwise it will be over because the pipeline for the US is only just beginning. Now Mexico will have to take a hard look at where the US is at to get there. Ochoa statement about the US looking toward Mexico couldn’t be more further from the truth as results point the other way.
By far, this is definitely the worst version of this national team I have ever seen. The FMF has to be one of the most overrated teams I have ever heard but also has one of the most loyal and passionate fan base I have seen in professional and international sports. Mexico national team definitely deserves to be on the world stage, but sadly, there is just so much corruption in that federation where they only care about filling up stadiums and taking money from the fans. Overall, the team has to go through a full rebuild, the same way how American professional sports do
Bro now you understand what’s like to be a chivas fan there’s not enough good “talent” we seen some of the best prospects like chofis, Antuna macias Pizarro Vega zendejas. Mexican players only care about money. Alexis Vega cordoba laniez damm etc only are cashing checks they aren’t making that effort to be good enough for transfer to Europe. USMNT players leave at very young age to Europe.
Funny enough bro i AM a chivas fan lol. There has been so many players who didnt apply themselves for us or chose to chase money and its been such a pain
@@Cisco3 I think the problem in chivas is the media. Because let’s not forget most of the players from chivas are very young. The media do anything to sell a story. I remember when they said pocho punched Pauno smh how does that benefit chivas? Also Alexis Vega chicote canelo angulo Antuna Zendejas all came in at a very young age. No they right away jump to their personal life’s like bro wtf that is some tóxico shxt I think that’s why vela doesn’t want to come to Mexico because of how the media works & it happens at the national team too. I remember the incident I think chile 2011 copa America were vela salcido went through some things but the squad was very good.
@@Cisco3 I think the solution to el TRI is to have Mr Azcarraga out of the national team and federación mexicana. That dude show be to blame on because he has full control. As a chivas fan we know exactly why they sell chivas players more expensive. Also in the national team he chooses the line up. Mr jimmy lozano said prior to qatar that would start the cycle with santi malagon Kevin Alvarez etc pretty much having a squad under 25 but we all know how that is going.
Cisco hey I subscribed. But the national team downfall was in 2019 Mexico biggest problems is to play in the USA we are the only national team to play outside our country and the problem is televisa Ocho is the problem he controls who to pick televisa only wants America players to play in national team , liga Mx only wants players from other countries instead of out youth system and no ascenso or descenso or copa Mx . Julian quiñones we don’t need him he’s old we need new young players not quiñones 🤦♂️🤦♂️ the big problem is that we play only for money we don’t play in Mexico that’s sad we don’t even learn 4 years of bad games can’t win nations league 🤦♂️🤦♂️ it’s sad disappointing
I’m with you on everything except for the Ochoa bit. I feel like he can still perform even if he is old, it’s just that he’s gotten complacent. Call up other keepers and PLAY THEM, that way you get the message across to Ochoa that he need to be better or else
Yeah I mean he’s undoubtedly a leader in the dressing room and very respected so we could still call him up. But as a defensive line you need to have a great understanding as a unit so we need to start giving other keepers time NOW to build that understanding. Ochoa aint gonna be around forever
Bro if you don't understand that in Mexico it is legal to monopolize the market then you are blind beyond belief. Mexican Soccer is a blatant monopoly corrupt to the core. Three owners control but 50% of the leagues total teams. Club Caliente, Grupo Pachuca and Televisa each owning 4-5 teams a piece. It is they who decide who gets a position on the National Team. Surprise surprise they always choose players of whom they have a vested interest in. Or did you actually think that every other coach that came prior weren't as smart as you and never got the bright idea of choosing the best players to his squad?
At this point, Mexico has only six players who would make the USMNT (Alvarez, Santi, Ochoa, Montes, Vasquez, Chuky). And none of these players is much better than the equivalent USMNT player. Several are probably worse. The USMNT, on the hand, has seven midfielders who are clearly better than Mexico's 2nd best midfielder. Let that sink in. The lesson should be clear: LigaMX players can't cut it in today's game.
In Memo defense, you can’t really put all the blame on him when he’s playing horrible teams he just won VIP for his Italian club despite of them losing and they are still losing without him, so it’s not Ochoa’s fault. Now as far as the national team you can say Ochoa is old and he can’t save but what about the strikers and the wingers? Why can’t they score a fuckn goal? You can’t expect Ochoa to save everything when you have Luis Romo, Jorge Sanchez , Erick Sanchez, and Jesus Gallardo starting! What about Chucky what has he done? Everyone’s been riding him since 2018 and that was it. You can sing “el chucky Lozano, el chucky lozaAnoooo…” but the man is starting to become more and more washed. You can’t put malagon because he will be a Ochoa 2.0 with Televisa wanting him to start and stay til 2062.
@@theneweraofmusic5578 Memo Ochoa, has been suffering myopia from a long time, he literally uses contact lenses, if you rewatch most of his goals it will make sense to you.
Sometimes these kind of videos and the comments are hilarious. I have lived in Mexico and in the USA. I can simply understand why the “US gold generation” is just a failure: 1. The fan base here doesn’t understand football .. oh well that is the first problem, the fan base here call it soccer… 2. MLS championship is the most ridiculous way to crown any team. US shield … that should go in general to the champion for the whole season, but not… MLS absurdity created play-in and play-offs for the 2 conferences. 9 teams classify for play offs out of 15 teams for each conference. 60% of the teams can be champions. ABSURD. 3. Now about the so infamous “US golden generation”, yes, they play in Europe but at very mediocre level. Just look at Pepi… he is bench in PSV Eindhoven whilst Chucky is a legend in the same team. And Pulisic has proved him self to be over rated, he was such a failure at Chelsea. 4. All in all, best Mexican players could play abroad or domestic, and you can see in the CONCACAF Champions league, is astonishing how the Mexican teams pulverized MLS teams. 5. Leagues Cup is just a misery of tournament, look at the Mexican teams, they get punished if they speak the truth on how they don’t like to play it. 6. US only wins against Mexico… yes so what, they just go to Copa America or World a cup to be kick out by Panama or any other mid-range team …. 7. Yes, at the moment Mexico football is in crisis, but this will not last beyond the years, they will get back and their national team will run business as usual. This is a summary why the USA football and MLS teams will live in this bubble … their major win is always to win against Mexico. Because beyond that , they cannot stand to the real super powers or even to the 2nd class football national teams, meanwhile Nexico has done that through several generations…
Ehhh, at times Mexico has shown quality outside of Concacaf. World cup qualification would definitely be alot more complicated for them if they were in CONEMBOL but i dont think impossible
Why is it that almost every Mexican outlet loves to cover the “what if” story. We knew Alexis could’ve gone to Europe but we all know why he didn’t. This is one of the reasons Mexico is where it is. Too concentrated on the past and caught up in the obsession of old rumors
Accurate.
people discuss the "what ifs" because it we get examples of Mexico's problems with every single generation of players.
Alexis vega is a bum and would have been on the bench lol
He had his chance last night and he was terrible.
Thats a good point too bro, a big lack of discipline from our current stars
Thank you 🙏 for admitting that you’re biased in the beginning of your reporting. Some decent insight in what you’ve said but in the end about El Tri winning it all in 2026 😂was indeed a laugher, even more so as watching the Mexican fan’s reaction when they lose again by the infamous score of 2-0. Maybe I’ll subscribe to your channel for some more laughs 😂, the saying is laughter is the best medicine, so please 🙏 bring it
Yup that's why they have to boycott mediocrity
Bruh how is that a better metric when all games are played in the states come on and you have got to stop with the same excuses you always use
@bulletproofman323 keep living in delusion and keep saying the same bs excuse let's have the league cup games only played in mexico and see how ya do
The federation is controlled by Televisa & sponsors, who control who plays in the national team. That’s why Raul Jimenez went to the WC while still not being fully recovered because he came through America which had rights from Televisa.
I doubt mexico changes until a second co concacaf teams consistently beats them. Can jamaica be that teamidk
Jamaica or Canada.
Canada are creeping up
@@calc1657 Jamaica is playing with strong physical prowess, their skill is still mediocre.

And the US have outscored Mexico 48-33 goals in the span. Mexico hasn’t score on the US in a competitive match (5) this decade.
You obviously haven't played en el llano to even scratch the surface of the various problems that pollute Mexican fútbol.
And only alloweds players from america play
Also bring back copa mx and let the 3rd division and 2nd division participated in copa mx screw the leagues cup...
Bring 20 or 22 teams to the first division.. Relegate the 3 worst team each season.. And also they should stop about the certification of the Stadium ... Have ppl even seen the tigres stadium or pumas stadium.. They are really in bad conditions
All they care is about the money and not the fans or team i know this sport is a business but come on at least they should hide they real colors
Spot on, I would add a Release clauses for every player like in Spain.
Just be a USMNT fan you’ll be alright
Not a real fan if he does that, I can’t switch up 😂
Lmao im alright on this side
Like trying to sell El chiquito for stupid money
The problem is that Liga MX is trying to be the MLS, by making it a closed league (no pro/rel) and the expansion of liguilla (just like the MLS playoffs expanded)
Owners are greedy and outright don't want relegation back because it's making them money
Money runs these two leagues so much
We just don't evolve and we are still depeneding on memo to save us when his best days are behind him the level of mexican futbol has just dropped in general atleast its what it feels like i always think of our old squad with players like oswaldo sanchez, torrado, rafa marquez, osorio, salcido, omar bravo, jared borgetti, ramon morales, pavel pardo, andres guardado, arellano, bofo bautista, palacios just to name a few.

Nothing but facts were stated 🤝🏾🤝🏾
The USA is worse historically. The reason Mexico gets so much backlash is because everyone knows they have the spirit and players to become big again. USA on the other hand are just starting to get big
Bro the problem isn’t just logs MX and the federation. It’s that you guys don’t send younger players to other leagues as well. Not to top off how the Mexican Federation is corrupt and the coaches don’t ever get enough time to train or help the players before they get replaced or fired. This is actually why the US is getting younger n younger talent, as the MLS works with their young talent to export them into prime leagues like Germany, England or even France.
100% bro! Like I said even if the players dont end up working out, we wont know until we send them. Definitely agree about the corruption 🫣
I would also add lowering the limit of forgen players in Liga MX so young Mexican players can have a chance to play
To much corruption in Mexico that then drives the decisions of LIGA mx
As an American I agree with everything you've said. As much as I hate to say it, it's kind of sad to see the decline of Mexico's National scene as they were always fun to watch. I was definitely hoping they would do better in the 2018 world cup than they did. I was hoping they would go through to the round of 16 so I could see a North American team competing against the giants.
I meant 2022 world cup lol
Mexico is gonna have another horrible World Cup in 2026, hope that motivates them to do better on forward
It won’t sadly
I HOPE we have a better World cup than i expect. But if we do poorly i hope its a kick in the ass
Also not playing Copa libertadores plays a big role on our downfall

In my opinion, Liga MX have been importing South American players since 2000 and relegrates native players' playing time. Have you notice that Liga MX topscorer sheet every season in the last 20 years have been loaded by South American players?
Yup, our guys who win the u20 world cups and stuff hardly even materialize due to this reason
Welp we got the humiliation defeat from Uruguay happened.

Literally insane people can't comprehend this and that son of a bitch is now managing messi
(Just because everything is WAY cheaper in Mexico)
Yeah, its fricking CRAZY.
Liga mx needs to be a league that could be just interesting like uefa because theu got foreign players from south america
this is good for lLga MX its time for Mexico to developed their own style and if that means trial by error then so be it. look how bad Brazil has fallen, they are disaster having a coach sticking the JOGA Bonito way but the players inherently only play the "technical EPL Way"
Theres definitely an argument to be made that trying something new can be beneficial but atleast short term it doesnt seem to be working out.
A lot.
I think the Liga MX > MLS comparison is getting weaker too, I don't necessarily think MLS is better, but Liga MX can't claim clear superiority.
Messi aint teaching sh!t towards mediocre MLS players watch Miami get humiliated wed by monterrey
And to another extent, Monterrey, Cruz Azul, and Santos
Speaking of Santos, Ochoa should retire to force mexico to call up Carlos Acevedo.
But what do i know? Im just a pinche americano.
Yeah i mean thats definitely the case anywhere bro! For example in England, players who play for top 6 clubs are forsure given priority.
Coaching is also definitely an issue. I feel like often times we arent a creative force and thus like you mentioned, struggle to break team down
We need the 20/11 in Liga mx again, with this rule we were able to get players like guardado to be known
Man 😭
You don't need any "qualifications" to talk about why the Mexican national team is a joke right now.
El Chiquito Sanchez does nothing on the pitch. I don't understand why he's so popular
Using CCC is a terrible metric considering MLS is in preseason mode and Liga MX is in midseason form
better metric than leagues cup
And in leagues cup MLS is already in season and liga MX is off season lol
Considering using Leagues cup but 1) competition is new 2) all games are US based
Both tourneys are flawed imo
@@fbnfranco They're both dog-shit metrics
This aged like Cheese. Panama is the king of USA
Panama really put on for Concacaf no cap
Hahahhah
This title aged like milk.
No pexico is still ass
Mexico is also not developing young prospects. Mexico was known for under 21 squads. Now they can't even qualify for the Olympics.
And also allow regulation in the liga mex i'm sorry but removing it was a terrible idea
Facts bro!
The US looks strong only against Mexico. I haven’t seen them play with as much passion against any other national team. If the US focused on playing like how they play against Mexico for every other game they would be dangerous.
That’s mainly because Mexico plays a style that suits how Gregg sets up. If Mexico bunkered then they would give us more problems.
Team sucks also because team owners only recruit players with rich daddies that can pay extra to get them in the team. It’s short term profit without any regard for long term success. To them, success is making revenue, not winning championships.
We need some guys that can score the ⚽️ put it in .
7:27 Tbf the bottom 3 teams have to pay a fine
And they believing on Simpson's prediction that mexico and portugal will go to the final😂. Lol not a chance coz too many national teams also improving. Maybe Netherlands could win first the world cup before Portugal
The Simpsons don't make predictions tho they already know that's going to happen
@@crow_g1639 when it comes to football they missed spectacularly then, mexico and portugal on a world cup final is something that can only happen on playstation lol
Liga MX being better than MLS is debatable. But looking at the direction of both leagues… in 5 years MLS will easily surpass LigaMX
Mexico's team fall is just returning to whatever it should've been.
2006 Mexico was my favorite. so based
LEGENDARY team right there bro
At least the Women's Team looks good. They probably have a chance of Winning a World Cup soon the way things are going.
Yeah bro! They’ve made so many leaps and bounds is pretty cool to see
There are too many issues that were pointed out.
Overall, the team has to go through a full rebuild, the same way how American professional sports do
Bott the the US and Mexico teams have fallen behind Canada...😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅
pexico 🤏😂
We will know who is the best in World Cup
“more then likely making the playoffs” and proceeds to show chivas is funny 😭😭bums barely even make the playoffs
but do you have a Sledgehammer bicycle with which to do cool stunts and have become school president?
No i dont
as much as i love ochoa i agree, hes too old to be as good at his prime
Hard to watch ngl
Sad huh
Love from Americano-Trinidadian
Thanks brotha ✌🏽
Santi proved he is ass and OVERRATED this Tournament 🤣
Memo 4ever tho hahaha 🇲🇽
Its ova
Should see his medical, his he has miopía.
@@Alvinobeat27 who are you talking about?
@@theneweraofmusic5578 Memo Ochoa, has been suffering myopia from a long time, he literally uses contact lenses, if you rewatch most of his goals it will make sense to you.
I blame the awful youth development that we have. 😢
Pay to play, that's how Miguel Layun got there.
Sometimes these kind of videos and the comments are hilarious.
I have lived in Mexico and in the USA.
I can simply understand why the “US gold generation” is just a failure:
1. The fan base here doesn’t understand football .. oh well that is the first problem, the fan base here call it soccer…
Let's get something out of the way: Mexico was never a good national team. It wouldn't make it to the world cup if they played in CONMEBOL.
Ehhh, at times Mexico has shown quality outside of Concacaf. World cup qualification would definitely be alot more complicated for them if they were in CONEMBOL but i dont think impossible
@@Cisco3yes they would struggle
US's youth system is better than Mexico's. Also, it's growing rapidly so the difference will only widen if Mexico doesn't act immediately.
Mexicos u 17 is looking promising their recent match against France was 2-0
MLS needs to make football affordable for poor people to get in
Mexico always has good young players (u20) but fail to capitalize on so many
Too bad so many of those players will ride bench in Liga MX
Mexico is doing poorly but the USA has also improved
They’ve improved so much

I’ll be back when Mexico has a new goalie and Santi is a starter and Mexico is still losing. Then I’ll see what excuses you have
Lots more problems than just those
