They aren't as visible as goose stepping (though the Bundeswehr has done it on several occasions) or the iconic helmets or the old Prussian uniforms, but there are many traditions which Germany has maintained, save for a few. The uniforms are mostly faithful to 20th century German designs (except for the black pants), the German army still uses jackboots on the ceremonial uniforms (albeit half-covered), the hand movements and drill are mostly the same, as well as ceremonies like the Großer Zapfenstreich, most of the Prussian musical pieces, etc. Much still remains, though it is more subtle.

That is just how Scandinavians look like. They could just show up in suits and with briefcases instead of uniforms. But it is important to know the Swedish Royal Guard rotate soldiers from all regiments and branches of the military. Sometimes even the Home Guard and the Women's Volunteer Corps get guard duty. They do have two permanent household regiments, like the German Wachbataillon, or the British King's Guard. They have guarded the Swedish monarchy for 500 years. So if you want to look out for the professional guards at the Swedish Royal Palace, look for The Life Guard Dragoons in their all blue uniforms.

Those helmets spread all-over europe in the 19th century, even russian guard regiments used them and british, too.
