Yes it is truth that this is the best version.because BB sings very deep from inside.his voice makes you feel the pain&blue inside. Eric and BB plays their guitar very Clear, smooth and with harmony to getter and also coming deep from inside. when i am listening this version i close my eyes and find my self in another world. Thank you Eric&BB, You are kings❤️ Love from Turkey.❤️
Nearly all versions of this with Clapton are exemplary, especially Crossroads 2010, BBKing & Friends 1987. His dueling with Gary Moore is electrifying as well.
wow that was just amazing. I have to say BBKING and Clapton playing together is the best combination its like they blend in perfectly. both of these great artists have jammed with all under the sun but when these two play together sparks just fly naturally.
EC and BB were both big influences in the direction my picking went.. I had started to play before I heard Cream in the 60s…. Crossroads was a game changer.. and when ' the thrill" came out it changed again.. Later , after seeing BB several times ( an i would continue to do so for the duration of his life even into my 60s..) and Seeing the unplugged album by clapton.. a revival of the Old folk blues came about.. I still look back to these guys and that let me to Robert Johnson, Howlin wolf, Lightning Hopkins and a multitude of others…. To hear them together now as im 70 ( yes and still pickin) is just wonderful.. I remember this song from my teens and I still never tire of it.. or either of them.. RIP BB…. the king is dead long live the king..
One of the greatest has left us but he has left us a gift to remember him by heaven needed him to play the blues Rest in Peace BB keep singing the blues
ABSOLUTELY 1000% Best Version of this song! Tears, pain and CHILLS fill my soul when I hear this version! Thank you for sharing and where I could find it. It'll play randomly on my Pandora and I can barely contain myself! LOVE DA BLUES! 🥹💙💙💙🎶🎵
I agree- great version. Although the believe the original was a B minor blues while this is in A minor. However the slide in the original B.B. King recording 1969 - in which King slides very briefly to the Fourth or D7 -in this recording - in the first song chorus is not here and in many subsequent recordings. So what. Well I love that move. This is more serious and ponderous. However it is a great recording on its own right!!!
@kIoudie i just heard that version, i'd never heard it before. WOW. That was siiiiick. It's tough for me to choose between the two of them, both are so brilliant! Thanks for letting me know it is possible to find even more BB King magic
with all my love to the song and to the versions that both u said... (they r just amazing), i think the live performance at Crossroads 2010 with Clapton Cray n' Vaughan is way the best... till the next...
you listen to this song and comment on the bass lol! this is hilarious but im glad to see that theres still this many of us that aint afraid of real music played by real people with real talent!
It's good, but I prefer either the pure BB King version or the duet with Tracy Chapman (which combines the greratest ever blues guitarist with awesome vocals)
we would sit around and watch the Brady bunch smoke mother nature, and talk about who's the baddest gutier player jimmy zepplen Clapton Mike Douglas ask Hendrix how does it feel to be the best lead guitar player , he said ask Rory Gallagher, not in the hall Janet Jackson l. no respect, Johnny winter Rossington Collins😀

I saw BB back about 10 yrs ago. What impressed me was his vocal grasp and expression of the genre. Often underrated and overlooked.

But I still get a Thrill whenever I hear this song...
And I've been hearing it since I was 8 years old when it came out in 1969. Saw Mr. King at the Circle Star in the 70's

I agree. But EMI have removed it from You-tube :-(((. And I can't even find it for sale. If they don't sell it, why remove it???
It's good, but I prefer either the pure BB King version or the duet with Tracy Chapman (which combines the greratest ever blues guitarist with awesome vocals)
