For anyone reading this in the future, do NOT repair this like the poster. There’s a reason the wires melted and you need to figure put why. Most of the time samsung uses the wrong gauge for its application so it cannot handle the current draw. The other possibilities could be blown capacitor / bad magnetron / something feeding back or not insulated or otherwise broken. Repairing like this you’re inviting a house fire because there’s so much juice going through the components. Also you can discharge the cap by leaving a meter connected or a very very high resistance resistor
I totally agree with your comments. In this case the wire connector was too close to grounding and when the microwave got steam from cooking on the stove the moisture would cause arks at that connection. Once I wrapped that connector it stopped the arks and popping.
