I have two 2016 models. One of them AWD. I love both. Been mine for 6 years. Never a mechanical failure. It is one of those cars that you start to love because them never fail and always bring you to your destiny. That's important.
I own a 2016 Fiat 500x.... The one you tested is super bare bones. You might want to mention that. Mine does not have any of the issues you complained about. Be clearer on your reviews.
In all honesty this sounded like a kid whining because it didn’t fit his preference. I don’t own one of these but to make it sound that bad is kind of silly. Didn’t sound like anything was actually wrong with the car and minor wear and tear is normal but actually looked pretty good for it’s age. One thing I notice about Most Mini Coopers and now Fiats is the owners tend to really take care of them so that’s a good thing if your gonna buy a car. With all that said, thanks for the review.
I happen to love my Fiat 500X Trekking. 78k with no problems. Performance is great for what I need. My only problem is although it’s under the Chrysler tag; most will not work on them and the Fiat dealerships are shrinking in numbers 😟
Had the Trekking myself. One of my favorite cars I ever had. Only reason I still don't have it, is COVID happened, I lost my job and couldn't keep up on the car payments.
“Down the road your setting yourself up” well tell me , what was wrong with this car? I didn’t hear you mention one mechanical failure at 100k miles because there were none. A worn steering wheel won’t leave me on the side of the road. The key fob u can very obviously see has Been kicked dropped and thrown all over. This was a very harsh, petty, attention seeking video. Also, you don’t even need the key it’s keyless enter n go. Just ugh
tend to agree. No specifics mentioned ... plus it's fair to say that this very review completely differs from other reviews ... which tend to be quite favorable actually. Zack was good fun to watch, but little value to derive from the review. Sorry ...
I have an Audi tt 3.2 v6 but prefer to use my fiat 500X most days as it’s fast and stylish ,comfy and reliable. It’s the 1.4 turbo and a manual. Do not be put off by this revue. Oh and mine is 9 years old.
get the AWD model.. keep it in "manual" mode. never had issues. And is actual a peppy daily. and handles well. The ZF 9HP transmission is notorious for harder shifts in colder climates.. and this is true.. once it's warmed up no issues. very smooth.
Ive watched 8 reviews on the 500x, yours is the first negative. Sure a corolla is more reliable, but honestly look at one. In fact good looking and Toyota should never be used in the same sentence!
With the steering wheel wear and key wear, 90,000 miles on the clock is considered a fairly high mileage for a five year old car where I come from. Yes, cars do go for more miles than they used to and 40 years ago a 90,000 mile European car at only a few years old would be an ex-fleet car and on sale more cheaply than a low mileage privately owned car, and if you take your chances with the ex-fleet car, you should know the risks. The highest miles used car I bought was a 70,000 mile five year old Mercedes-Benz. I’d never buy a cheaper car with that kind of miles on it and not expect wear. Thank goodness Mercedes-Benz separated from Chrysler!
I own a 2019 Ford focus ST and the wife has a 2020 fiat 500x sport and it leaves my focus for dust in the quality and driving stakes and it out accelerates my focus and its only a 1.4 auto my focus is a 2.3🤷♂️ the fiat far better car!
I rented one yesterday and the driving experience was absolutely horrible for a modern car. I agree 100% on the engine and adding to this the bumpiness of the ride. Me and my wife both got a headache, as you did. She even got car sick on the curvy roads in Provence, France. Has never happened with any other car we’ve driven here. So this review was a little like a consolation… ”we’re not alone”. 😅
The small screen complaint, is hilarious to me, because I hated how big it was, compared to a typical radio from the cars I grew up driving. I don't need a backup cam and I'd prefer proper buttons, when I navigate my radio/settings, because I can do that, without having to take my eyes off the road.
I have the 2016 500X Trekking Plus and I love it! The interior quality is much better than the reviewed model. I previously had the 500 Lounge in a manual, which I prefer, but manual was only available in the base model in Canada for the 500x. Since this was my first automatic car I did notice the gear shifting when I bought it, but I don't notice it anymore after a computer upgrade. Both Fiats I've owned have been fun to drive & reliable. My only complaint is having to deal with Dodge for warranty work. When Fiat had their own dealership and mechanics they were awesome to deal with. Dodge mechanics don't seem to know as much about Fiats, and the sales staff don't understand that Fiat and Dodge owners are very different & want different things. It's bad enough that I'm considering another brand to get better service when it's time for my next car. Too bad, because I really like these cars.
I really like the looks of late model Fiats. They're unique. They're still undeniably Italian... *but* ... yeah, quality isn't there. It's a shame really.
The critic has a responsibility to evaluate beyond their own limited view. The comments here and on other sites suggest that you were more interested in a sensational 'bad' review than actually reviewing the car.
You’ve talked a lot about how much attention to detail Fiat paid to the minute things in this car, but it takes a very attentive person to notice these things. Great review by you!
I am on my second Fiat 500x, and I must say that i'm impressed on how different this model is in the US vs Chile. I have a 1.4l Turbo with a 6 speed manual transmition, dual zone climate control, spare tire, a much bigger screen with no backup camera, foglights, electric lumbar adjustments, etc. The only thing I must agree with you are the seats, they are hard as a rock, and the headrest can give you head trauma if you rest on it for five minutes!
I own a 2017 Fiat Abarth in addition to an Acura and Porsche. I bought the Abarth as a fun car during Covid that I would have for just a little while and then get rid of before problems started, 4 years later the car has 80k and has been flawless. Cheap interior parts yes, but mechanically these get a worse rap than they deserve. Mine has been problem free (and it’s an automatic) I think there is a certain style about these cars that appeals to some and makes people want to take a chance on them.
But the main technical (besides the superficial points) is that the tranny shifting seems awkward? right? idling shifting. You do realize that software updates can and do change those irregularities
I have a Fiat 500x 2016. I do love it, but it's tight for larger people. Vibrates at stop lights and shifting is not smooth. But at 80,000 miles I've had no issues.
Definately need the right storm with this car. You need the 2.4L for sure. You must flash the ECU immediately with a nice tune. When chipped, and sport mode with the traction off is good fun.
Negative or not, this was one of your better reviews, Zack! That shot where you laid down on the ground in front of the car for a good cry was hilarious! Thank you.
Somebody stop him please…. Nothing about the ride quality, build or economy. Nice to hear him complain about the button icons. Should be on the muppets show. 90000 + miles and he is wanting to test the performance. Stick to the super sized burger rivers.
I didn't get what was really bad about this car... Here is almost nothing about how this car drives, I just know that Toyotas is from a driving point of view is - a vegetable, so if these cars are used as a prototype..... Perhaps you just need Chinese vegetable cars with nice huge Android screens, fake leather, huge pathos, etc., and without anything else...
You can honestly do quite worse than the 500X. I’d say the 500L is WAY worse, with awkward ugly-duckling styling, a terrible transmission, wonky handling, poor use of space, and the exact same awful build quality and fit & finish. This looks like a base model 500X, and yeah those 9-speeds are notorious for rough shifts when they’re not warmed up. At least it looks pretty cool. 🤷♂️
I agreed with everything you say about the car, until I test drove one with a 6-speed manual and the same engine set up as the Abarth. That automatic completely ruins the car from almost 6 years ago, but I understand the new ones are a lot better.
Three years later and I just bought the six gear 500x sport version. Its a great car and flies with no issues... Its a fun car with a retro look with good leather and alcantara...
Got half way through video can't figure out way this guy hates the car. The figure on the air condition button, seriously. The water bottle test which it passed. Ahh whatever
These cars are great ,love mine. You wrote the review before you drove it. You are obviously very biased, the type of person who would have loved the car if it was American. BTW it's your constant rabbiting that caused your sore head ,and no you don't need a seat you need to walk .lots.
I've been seriously eyeing one of these for the last few weeks and I was fully prepared to hate on your review... but when your right your right, your review was just straight up honest and can't hate on ya for it.
You should drive my fiat punto 1.2 NA methane 60hp to experience the absolute worst Got it because there's a law in italy which states you can't drive a car over 80hp for the first year after you get your driving license
Dam dude, talking and trashing about this Fiat, if you hate it so much, then why review it. Let it be known to the other car manufacturers, this guy will trash the reputation of any vehicle that he doesn't like, so don't let him.
The Smart's transmission was bad from the start. This transmission was very good for a few miles, then has been on a steep decline ever since, only getting worse with age. At least the Smart is consistent!
funny to think that in 2022 Fiat kept the worst vehicle in it's lineup even after all other models have been discontinued for the American market, I'm guessing it's because of the shared platform with the Jeep Renegade
I had 1.4 torbo one the fuel was horendous 28 to the gallon I've switched to 1 6 diesel and its a lot better I'm getting 50 to the gallon and its more powerful to with much more torque and its the best car I have ever had
The left button is the unlock one and the right lock. I know this because i own a renegade and its the same key also you are right about the climate button🤣🤣🤣
The car is fun in sport transmission certainly shifts faster I’m gonna sell Mine this month because of the reliability issues now that it’s out of warranty.
The later model 500x has a totally different drivetrain. I really, really enjoyed driving the turbo awd 3 cylinder. Plenty of go, transmission was well programmed and engaging. Neat vehicle. I think the 9speed ruined this earlier drivetrain model you reviewed. It's great to see an auto manufacture make a quick change for the better. Otherwise, I believe fiat makes very good vehicles! The only real comparable vehicles to this platform are the not so fun and unengaging Mazda CX-3, the far nicer and ridiculously fun Mini Countryman (2017 and newer because screw the older models with french engines), and I don't know, the WRX? lol. I'll gladly take one of these 500x's with the newer drivetrain over the renegade any day.
This is the worst car I’ve owned. My 2017 500X has been at the dealerships repair shop for 4 months and counting. They can not figure out why the car stalls while in drive. Which is extremely dangerous!
I have two 2016 models. One of them AWD. I love both. Been mine for 6 years. Never a mechanical failure. It is one of those cars that you start to love because them never fail and always bring you to your destiny. That's important.

Sorry it’s still a POS
Being a base model doesn't excuse poor quality or just a poor car
@@jtlmnts457 it isn't.
This looks like a review written before you drove the car.
Useless review, never mentioned roominess for the driver, handling, tall drivers, noise, cornering ac performance, why renegade not 500x etc
In all honesty this sounded like a kid whining because it didn’t fit his preference. I don’t own one of these but to make it sound that bad is kind of silly. Didn’t sound like anything was actually wrong with the car and minor wear and tear is normal but actually looked pretty good for it’s age. U ate a hatter i think. A base model and u want to be a fully lexus quality?
I happen to love my Fiat 500X Trekking. 78k with no problems. Performance is great for what I need. My only problem is although it’s under the Chrysler tag; most will not work on them and the Fiat dealerships are shrinking in numbers 😟
It’s a 2016 2.4L, 9 speed automatic. Too bad they didn’t make them with manual option.
Had the Trekking myself. One of my favorite cars I ever had. Only reason I still don't have it, is COVID happened, I lost my job and couldn't keep up on the car payments.

Looks like a great car,try driving a Nissan Jukebox..Terrible design and leg room...
The parts sharing reminds me of the Dodge Dart window buttons in the Maserati models
Biiiig oof on Maserati's part!
As the owner of the Yugo you reviewed, the "worst car I've driven in a very long time" title made me do a happy dance
I only look back on the Yugo with fond memories, and it's a fun conversation starter!
I think you deserve compliments! Buying a Yugo is a brave thing! Well done! 🙂
I have an Audi tt 3.2 v6 but prefer to use my fiat 500X most days as it’s fast and stylish ,comfy and reliable. It’s the 1.4 turbo and a manual. Do not be put off by this revue. Oh and mine is 9 years old.

Iies
Either you’re lying, your car is broken, or you’re a horrible driver. In no world is a 500X going to accelerate quicker than a Focus ST.
What's the purpose of lying to a bunch of strangers on the internet? It's kinda sad my dude.
You don't understand because you don't know...Chrysler and Fiat are together......the only cars you should talk about are John Deer tractors.
I rented one yesterday and the driving experience was absolutely horrible for a modern car. I agree 100% on the engine and adding to this the bumpiness of the ride. I agree, looks good! So does a pan of lasagna. But when I eat the whole thing it, like the Fiat, ruins my day.
Beavis and butthead brought me here
The critic has a responsibility to evaluate beyond their own limited view. The comments here and on other sites suggest that you were more interested in a sensational 'bad' review than actually reviewing the car.
The car maintaining 1000rpm at all times is a feature to prevent the car stalling
the way you act around this fiat , is the exact way i act around renaults
I generally dislike European car brands. I'd much rather have Japanese brands...well, except Nissan.
You’ve talked a lot about how much attention to detail Fiat paid to the minute things in this car, but it takes a very attentive person to notice these things. Great review by you!

Totally disagree...!!!
Really enjoyed it.
You tested the worst version... You missed the european version with turbo engine and a manual transmission.
I didn't get what was really bad about this car... Here is almost nothing about how this car drives, I just know that Toyotas is from a driving point of view is - a vegetable, so if these cars are used as a prototype..... Ok, inreality advertising for Toyota.
Won't be watching this guy again.
How big are you? Ie, tall and weight? I'm trying to judge how small the back seat really is.
He is very fat
I'm considering buying a used one with a manual transmission as an Uber! 😁
I've been seriously eyeing one of these for the last few weeks and I was fully prepared to hate on your review... but when your right your right, your review was just straight up honest and can't hate on ya for it.
Stellantis should just pull Fiat out of the US and put one of the PSA brands in the dealerships that previously had Fiat logos.
Maybe if this didn’t carry him self like a sloppy bum that hasn’t showered in days his opinion might carry more weight 🤷♂️
It's whatever button that locks/unlocks it on a Dodge/Chrysler/Jeep 😀
I hope you are joking.....the worst car test I ever see...
You should drive my fiat punto 1.2 NA methane 60hp to experience the absolute worst
Got it because there's a law in italy which states you can't drive a car over 80hp for the first year after you get your driving license
When one of the nicest, most genuine, most humble car reviewers in the game rips a car a new one, you KNOW its bad
Misleading, poorly made review.
Only 90k mile! That’s bloody lot for that type of car 🚗
So it's not safe or... I ...I need this dumbed down I'm looking to buy my first car are there safety issues or is it looks and design
Dam dude, talking and trashing about this Fiat, if you hate it so much, then why review it. Let it be known to the other car manufacturers, this guy will trash the reputation of any vehicle that he doesn't like, so don't let him.
Also, better or worse trans than the Smart car?
Probably better but they’re both hot garbage.

Goodenuff 360 had better luck with the Fiat 500 X AWD
and you are ?
4:03 That's what she said.
😂😂😂
the multiair engines sound nice, thats about it lol
You sorta remind me of Doug Demuro crossed with a young Jonah Hill, I love it
The later model 500x has a totally different drivetrain. I really, really enjoyed driving the turbo awd 3 cylinder. Plenty of go, transmission was well programmed and engaging. Neat vehicle. I feel the same way about most fiat products
This is the worst car I’ve owned. My 2017 500X has been at the dealerships repair shop for 4 months and counting. They can not figure out why the car stalls while in drive. Which is extremely dangerous!
I haven’t heard anything good about any fiat.
What do you drive
The button on the shift booth is for easier repairs because of fiat quality
I read the title thinking "this was an 'Easy Review' because this is 'Easily' the worst car"
I disagree!
Aww I love my fiat
I wonder if anyone dared to buy this?! If they did, they sure don't watch Shooting Cars vids! 😂😂😂😂
Worst head rests of any car.
Exhibit # 3882839 of why I hate it
Those headrest hard as a roll of quarters
You know what they say-Fix It Again Tony
Well mine is 2016 and its not been fixed yet, had a long line of Fiats and honestly only had a couple of sensors on one of them.
Looks like Scotty Killer is right on something 😂
He’s 100% not. Go on Facebook groups and forums and see. This man doesn’t own a fiat neither does Scotty.
Isn't Scotty paid by Toyota? That's why he shits on every other car company
Foh
😂😂😂😂 best review ever!
This vehicle is terrible. I hate it!
So tell us what happened to your one
