  • So I’m well down the ECD/Pack/Backpack rabbit hole, and one of the most intriguing materials for me has been UVX40. I just recently received my fully custom Arch Grisetti that uses it as an accent, and now I’ve got a Remote Equipment Alpha 31 that uses it as the primary material!
In my opinion, it’s fabulous! Even better in person than it looks in photos. Beautiful AND rugged!
As for the pack? That’s pretty nice too! It’s almost too bad that Remote Equipment stopped offering it in UVX40. That would be my choice if they still did!
So what do you think? Let me know in the comments! For this video more than ever, I WANT to hear from you!
And if you like this video, please consider giving it a 👍 and subscribing! Every little bit helps, and I really appreciate it!
    Until next time! ✌️

It's a great bag. The front pockets are hard to take advantage of and it doesn't stand on its own. I wish there was a couple of stretch pockets within each of the front tubular pockets, similar to what Packolab did with the front of his new pack, it would make this bag so much better to use.
That being said, it is still my number one pick for a single bag that can do everything from one-bag travel to hiking to EDC

It's definitely impressive in how much it can grow or shrink based on need. As you said, I do wish it could stand on it's own, but I also appreciate it would completely change the look of the pack.🍻

Okay, rarely write comments, will do now to point some things
    1. There is a false bottom. Half inch or so. But amount is irrelevant, elasticity of the fabrics does this absorption and frame sheet stops right 1cm or so before contact. I've used with the lates mac 16 for +1y, perfect. Put as hard as you wish as long as you have a frame sheet.
    2. Ice Axe loops, not just loops. Also side loops are a perfect place to grip pack to get around that tricky corner. It doesn't get much better, but it's fine.
    3. Harness...personally, it was the best for me so just a matter of preference (tried PD, Aer, etc.)
    4. Vertical pockets super versatile for me, like phone in one, glasses in another. Being one dump area would prevent me from using it that often.. Also this seam keeps internal pocket always open, if you unzip it. Extra accessibility.
    5. Bottom is UVX42, you are right. Other fabric is for another variant you might get. Same tag for both packs to shave off couple of cents on mass-producing
    6. Manual is hand-drawn by the creator. Might worth looking at, I really liked it just from aesthetic reasons
This is the only pack, that does perfectly carrying everything I own as a digital nomad and somewhat a refugee (hello Ukraine), especially, when you attach 2 org kits, a TAD double booster pod to one side of the belt, another to the molle webbing. They all fit like a glove. Literally you can't get better than this in being able "to do both". Only their Charlie, though it's not that nice in both scenarios, but lighter.

Great review, I use Remote Equipment Org Kit as a great organizer for my MR Unicorn and MR Dragon Pack the shape is great for internal pockets or the Unicorn zipper pockets. Hope all is well glad, to additional videos after the Grail pack vid 😉

Thank you brother! Always appreciate your comments! I've seen the Remote Equipment Org Kit in photos and did think it looked like a fantastic size for the Dragon. Great to know it fits the Unicorn zipper pockets as well! Thanks for the reminder about these and the info! Everything is well here, and I do have a queue of several other awesome packs that are still in boxes, so a few more to get through, then we'll see... there are a few things on the horizon that interest me - a GWA Alpha Citadel in M81 Woodland coming out later this month that I hope I can snag. I'll just go with the flow and see where it takes me. Hope you're doing fantastic, especially now that it sounds like you've got your Dragon! Congrats!🍻

The V3 improves on a few things vs the V2. How do you feel it compares to the grisetti in terms of comfort?

As I mentioned in the video, the straps on the Alpha are a pretty stiff material. The way they are shaped and fall on my chest to me feels like they won't actually be an issue comfort wise, but the Arch Grisetti straps are up there with the best I've ever used. Same for the foam back padding on the Arch. It's just a very premium material and the comfort is fantastic. The Alpha is a step down by comparison, but it's not really fair given the price point differential. Do you happen to know what was improved upon for the V3? I'm sure I can look it up, but just curious if you know high level off the top of your head?

@@FlawlessActivity all the zippers are smoother, especially the laptop compartment. The shoulder straps are better although in what way I can’t say for sure. On the V2, I couldn’t use the load lifters at all because it caused an uncomfortable pinching across my traps. That’s completely gone with the V3 and I can sort of just set the pack anywhere in terms of shoulder strap length and it just fits well. Oh, there was also a change to the buckles on the roll top, you can’t accidentally buckle it to the compression strap like you could on the V2.

They look more like Ice Axe Loops than a zipper counter pull.

Haha, that would make MUCH more sense, but they are conveniently located... I bet the Owner's Manual would know, but I still haven't looked at it...
