- Camping in Northern Arizona in the middle of the Arizona summer while in the Kodiak Canvas Truck tent. A couple friends and I also participate in the annual ham radio Field Day 2023 event, and discuss camp etiquette when camping around other people nearby.

great vid. I always look forward to your content. I'm glad you were able to find some cool weather
Awesome thank you!
Awesome video Chad! Looked like a relaxing and laid-back trip! Thanks for sharing! 73 from K0TJT!
Glad you enjoyed it
A big one for me is the building of multiple fire pits in one camp spot. I personally try for the "leave no trace" camping. Always have a shovel and 50 gallon drum liners for cleaning up sites that inconsiderate people leave behind.
On a side note, I've started down the rabbit hole. Just picked up the 5th edition ham radio manual. Working on my technicians license, might need some pointers lol. Great video as always.
yes! This is a major issue at some of the campsites Ive visited. One literally had 8 fire rings in a half acre vicinity. dumb.
Noise, loud music late night. I go into nature to unplug
Lol.... How are you gonna call me out like that!? 😂🤣 Glad to see you brought some back up TP! You just never know when eating off a shovel might backfire... 😜 Haha! How did the canvas do in warmer weather?
😁 It did just fine. Not a fan of the setup and tear down in the heat though!
Great video! Literally had my last video ruined because of people blasting music, drunk and carrying on.
Ugh! Thats the worst! Not a great reset! Thanks for your comment!
Awesome video.I’m looking into getting into HAM myself here in the grate state of TX. Just starting my research on equipment and licensing. Any tips on equipment please leave me some info.
Thanks
Dont buy an old used radio. The prices hams ask for their used antiquated equipment is crazy. For the same or less money get yourself a gently used or new Icom 7300 or FT 991a.
Awesome video Chad. I have a question….. have you used the Napier tent with the diesel heater and if so how is the condensation? 73 de KE8PHJ
I have! Zero condensation with one of the windows slightly open. It did well.
@@DirtRoadReset thank you
My biggest peeves out in camping is just camping etiquette in general; dont cut/walk/drive through anyones site. Don't blast your obnoxious music until 3am if you see everyones trying to sleep. Sound travels. And please, for the love of the Gods- NO ONE loves hearing your dogs bark all day and night. Lastly, dont be a slob and trash our beautiful forests. :) lol I feel like these should be common sense.
agreed!
