Spot on demonstrations and good advice. I live in West Virginia and can tell ya all about mowing hills, lol. I've got customers with steep hills that lead right down to their back door of their homes. The biggest pain is that in the early spring and summer we get alot of rain and sometimes ya cant wait for it to dry out. I love those little honda mowers. I bought the hrx217 4 years ago and it's been flawless.
Good strategy he's giving out, it works. Been mowing worse for yrs.; conical inverted inside/outside radius scaping. Lucked out and got pair of 197s 21' Lawn boy 4.5hp 2 stroke self-propelled 3spd. Back in the day 4 strokes only had splash oilers on the crank, they'd burn-up if tilted wrong way very long!🔥Now they have oil pumps which is good, but no more 2cyl 😮💨. Electric stack li-Ion🪨is no replacement for displacement.
Brilliant safety and cutting advice. I'm from Scotland and just starting up my maintenance service - I think this may be the first type of job that I'm going to be doing, so I'm happy to have found your page...one new subscriber!
I have a self propelled mower, and I walk straight up and down my hill full of Bermuda grass. I find it hard to keep straight lines on the hill when going side to side. But as I get older, I better figure out a new way. That's why I came to this video.

The way I understand it is if your mowing slopes is always mow with the air cleaner facing uphill that way you won't starve the engine of oil! I own a Honda also.
dang that is crazy hard work, too bad husqvarna stopped selling the hovering mower in the USA. I'm having trouble mowing hear a lake along the edge, a major PITA.
Ok so how can I cut a hill like this with a stripper? I was thinking of starting from the top and going down. Thanks for this video, I don’t feel so alone.
We would want to have healthy respect for gravity, that is for sure!!!...If I could get though the fence gate, with my 48'' walk behind, then that would be the route to go, if not ,then the 21'' would have to do !!!...
I just purchased the Honda 21 in HRN 170cc Variable Speed. The manual states to avoid slopes of more than 20 degrees don't mow up & down makes sense. Mowing steep slopes can stare the engine of oil, causing engine damage that is not covered by the ( limited warranty). I have a slope of about 25 degrees that stops at the road approx 9 ft by 50 ft. Do you know of any problems with the Honda's engine with slopes?
My dad never tought me how to do this just wanted to say thank you

Nicely done. Great video. We have 1 acre and it’s intensely hard to push mow. I’ve considered renting goats
Got a steep hill in the future im looking to cut with my Cub Cadet. This is great help thank you.
Thank you friend for this insight. We have an extremely steep hill in back.
Love the humor and information.

Awesome tips on mowing hillside. I can use this strategy on my sloped areas of my lawn. ThanksQ
I thought my ditches look bad, that hill looked extra bad. Thanks for the advice.
Thanks ! I needed that tip on using a little bit of throttle on the upward turns. It makes great sense.
Funny intro!💕

You’re hilarious 😂
I bought a pair of football cleats to not slip
Professor of Physics 101 LOL
Screw those builders for leaving those hills or slopes. 🖕
great video lmao
i don't understand why a weed eater wouldn't be preferred on these slopes
Some people prefer the look of the lawnmower vs the weed Wacker.
@@theneighborhoodhero1 Ah yeah; the old preferences. They sure do like to make life harder.
@@theneighborhoodhero1 thanks; forgot about preferences
With that Honda mower, you are cheating😂
I find it harder going sideways and I find it easier going up and down hill
Talk to much get on with it
Can you do any better? Make a video and I'll watch 👌🏻
I love y'all...
