    Loving the one-arm drills brother. This is exactly what I use in my private lessons! Do work!! @coz he's landing early to make sure he gets his foot down. He doesn't have to worry about losing momentum because he getting proper separation with his lead arm. Great stuff pelaez!!

    It's a 28 inch one handed bat. Phoenix Bat Co. Any small bat would work though. The point it's to strengthen both hands individually.

    Really, hitting off the tee is one of the most important things you can do for your swing. Its boring but in the long run it makes a big difference

    Amazing throws better than me. When you swing out with both hands, try to swing the arms out a little bit more, but other than that perfect. Amazing v shaping with the arms!

    Keep working hard with a purpose not everybody will agree with the way players practice but the only thing all true athletes have in common is they have behind the fence critiques and haters if you have both you are doing something special. So always strive so haters can hate. OUTWORK TALENT

    That's because he's standing tall with back shoulder elevated on every swing. The only way he can reach a low ball doing that is to drop the hands.

    Like the way the eyes don't follow the ball after it's hit during soft toss. If you think a tee is a waste of time your not to bright and you prolly don't have a very consistent swing. Hitting a baseball isn't easy but it's not the hardest part. Hitting a baseball square and solid is. You need to practice your fundamentals and mechanics over & over to keep your muscle memory. When you can hit the 80 mph pitch but your dipping and hitting pop ups or pulling your head and hitting easy grounders

  • @iknowbaseball3452
    @iknowbaseball3452 9 років тому +6

    Your swing is putting tremendous amounts of torque on your front knee. You will have knee problems later in your career unless you start opening your front foot more after contact.

      @drew63215 8 років тому

      I agree...

    • @TopTierGaming21
      @TopTierGaming21 6 років тому

      The reason for this is to stay closed and keep the hitters hands inside the baseball. This is a sound traditional approach and I agree to some extent about the torque but each player has to find their own comfort at the plate.

    Question: do you keep your front foot closed on purpose?

    • @pelaez16
      @pelaez16  7 років тому +3

      yes, it gives him something to hit against with his legs. not everyone can keep it closed all the way, some can. we understand the front foot will swing open a bit but we are trying to minimize it and stay away from your heel.

  • @GJ3200

    Balls are not static in position. Hitting off a tee is the WORST thing u can do above the age of 10. And hold on to your bat with 2 hands on every swing through. Don't ever practice something you don't do in a real game. 3rd this kid needs to use his hips along with learning to transfer his weight from front to back to contact. All techniques taught today teach players that hitting 2.5 balls out of 10 is ok. Well its not.

    Can tell the kid is a good athlete, but needs to stop hitting down on the ball. Bat doesn't enter the hitting zone early enough and exits way to fast. Needs to learn how to plane the bat. Will hit for much more power if he does.

    I'll say it again, Tee hitting over 10 yrs old is a complete waste of time and energy for any and all serious players. You need to acquire speed in dechipering speed, distance and acquisition of target. You train your eyes not your muscles. If you train to hit one ball at one spot over and over again you are wasting your time. Get into the hardest throwing outdoor batting cages and never leave them till you know how to develop your eye speed acqusition.

  • @jonathant5221
    @jonathant5221 10 років тому

    Your hitter refuses to open his front foot after heel drop for some reason. I believe that takes torque away from the hips leading the hands known the as a Rotational Swing; plus puts way to much strain on that front knee. He may not feel it now, but it will catch up to him and be a nasty knee problem some day. Just watch the direction of his hips and thigh compared to the knee. It hurts me just watching it.

    • @AMD-wz7jx
      @AMD-wz7jx 10 років тому +1

      Keeping your front foot closed helps keep you shoulder and body from flying out and it also keep your knob and bat through the zone longer as opposed to pulling off of the ball.

    • @AMD-wz7jx
      @AMD-wz7jx 10 років тому

    Watched 32 seconds of this video and I have to stop. I am sure you are a good all around player...but, man you have got to stop all that movement before swinging. You are continuously going to have issues with your timing. If you would like to see how you can eliminate that...just let me know and I will post a video on my channel or something. Good luck man...I wish you the best.
