    We happened to be in DC on August 28, 1963 and watched the March on DC from the Balcony of our hotel room. My dad was a 38 year old attorney; he was in tears as he told me "Theresa, you are witnessing history; things will be better now". We must have hope for the future..

    Greetings from England. I can't listen to this without tears - we expected so much and it hasn't come about the way we hoped. I did what I could from here in the cause of equality and civil rights but so much is yet to do and the momentum has gone. We need the decent caring people to speak up and say 'enough'!

    Mary at her most beautiful. I won a speech contest my sophomore year in high school celebrating this march, in a very red county, and I am white. I always thrill to this song, having stood where they stood many times over the years, never ceasing to shed tears, for we once had a Lincoln as President, and may soon have a Trump, the defier and destroyer of all that is our country. Shame on all of you who support him, for you are ignorant, and know not what you do. PPM know, and they condemn you and all your works.

    To Jan Hammer: Though I agree and support many of the ideals you espouse let me go back to the "50s and 60s" movements you mention. Looking back the Vietnam War was wrong since so many rich kids go deferments while those of us with less money went to fight a war. I would have supported your movement except its participants were throwing s*** at us servicemen returning to the "world." That has been a craw in my throat for 5 decades.

    • @janhammer39
      @janhammer39  5 років тому

      I am OK with your criticism. The treatment of returning G.Is by some was most unfortunate. The war was as decisive as it could be.

      @@janhammer39 I was a hawk after returning from 'Nam but as I read about Vietnam and how we got there I became disillusioned with our government. It seems at present that our so-called leaders have not learned the lessons of the past. The more I learned about PP&M the more I respect the views they held. I feel sad for my friend who is enshrined on the Wall in D.C. For those who criticize my views that are the same as yours I say, "I risked my life so that you can have the liberty of criticizing me. What have you done for your country?"

      I'm a Vietnam veteran and also a war protester, I say good for those who really worked to stop the war, when I came "home" and told my father the war was wrong, he threw me out of the house. America scapegoated veterans because they refused to take moral responsibility for the mindless slaughter their taxes paid for, and America has gone downhill ever since. Facts.

  • @TheProactiveCreative
    @TheProactiveCreative 4 роки тому

    The darkness is very great, and many voices are crying out, but the Light shines in the darkness and the darkness does not overcome it!
    There are many good things happening, but they are often hidden, or buried (like treasure). Fear sells. There are many who are trying too hard to make money, and they are deceived. This is often how people lie - they don't know that they are deceived! Don't follow them, look to the Light.
    Also, know that the greatest loss in the universe has already happened - that God would die. But God the Father raised God the Son from the dead.
    Love forced is not love at all, God knows that, because God is Love. He is a gentleman - He must be asked. There are many asking, and much is happening. He wants us to freely choose to love one another and to freely choose to love Him. Love always hopes, Love never fails. That doesn't mean there are no problems, issues, conflicts or risks, but that is the nature and character of God - God is love
    and each one of us can be as close to Him as we want to be.
