- Today we will look at an alternate timeline where every Pokemon Ash encounters will be random. So instead of Pikachu Ash could encounter a Greninja. Team Rocket's Meowth could be a Mimikyu instead of a Meowth. I hope you guys enjoy this what if I definitely enjoyed writing it.
Rules for the What If:
1. All Pokemon can be encountered in any region
2. No Mythical and Legendary (Until Hoenn)
3. Starter Pokemon are Locked
4. Gym Leaders are Typed Locked

Can we show and explain that ash is like the 2nd strongest human being in pokemon I mean he literally can use pokemon Moves and has super strength and speed I mean what da heck bro like sure he will prob lose to pokemon but gosh he is powerful for a human in a game franchise that u battle with wild animals u catch that can be powerful

Larvitar actually makes sense as a starter because in several points in the anime, Ash and friends took care of a Larvitar and the Larvitar almost bonded with him.
Ash getting bodied by a golisipod is so hilarious I love it.
I loved every second of this.
My one complaint though is that Ash didn’t catch the Galisopod. It’s my favorite bug type. I would suggest that Misty could have caught it since she’d be following Ash, but then I remembered that she doesn’t like bugs.

@@DexComics Yeah, it’s a shame. Then again…..this is in Kanto, so maybe she doesn’t realize it’s a bug at first? Could be she thought it was some other type using that “first anime” logic, and she caught it because it was part water type

Damn, Ash must’ve been hitting the gym before his journey. Pokédex entries clock in a Larvitar’s average weight at almost 159 lbs. He’s gonna be seriously jacked by Johto.
Superhuman Ash aside, I like this take on Ash’s journey. Ash is still the same stubborn but lovable dunce and the changes in Pokémon keep things interesting.
I mean, he carried around a Lavrvitar in canon as well lol
I mean Lillie carries one of the heaviest Pokemon EVER in the Sun & Moon games and anime as well I think.

I never expected Ash's story to get ramonized but overall this part was good. I would love a part 2.

Love the concept, thought I think you should have a Reroll rule just if you reroll the same pokemon twice.
Ash having a Lavaitar would fit him perfectly, given the fact its one of his underutilised pokemon in cannon; plus I personally can't wait for everyone's reaction for when it finally evolves into a Tyrantitar.
Exited for what other pokemon Ash and company will get, and what crazy adventures would soon fallow.
Having the Gym Leader’s be Type locked was a good call. You might want to limit the Legendaries someone can possibly have, cause some species only have one member to them… An explanation for why so many exotic Pokémon can be found outside their native regions could be; Breedject eggs. Some people farm eggs in order to find a shiny Pokémon or get the perfect stats. Most exotic Pokémon are rejected from irresponsible breeders who dumped them somewhere before or after being born.
How the rest of the season 1 anime plays out randomized will be interesting. Have you been restricting evolution stages for some of these mons? Like how Ash and Misty have stage one Pokémon while Brock has a Boldore, if so then good call.
poor larvitar got shafted in this gym, he just needed to learn a ground move and he'd be fine in a rock gym. looks like it'll be awhile before he gets to shine
Great concept and execution! I love how the starter is larvitar, it reminds me of Iris’ Axew, but with a decent storyline - Only criticism is that it’s pretty similar to the anime except it’s with random mons. But I’m still enjoying it and would love more parts.
Can’t wait for part 2, with the meeting of Misty’s sisters, a visit to AJ’s unofficial Pokemon gym and Pokemon Tech, and encounters with the not!Kanto starters.

Something that make me love this even more is that everyone of ashes pokemon is weak to eachother a can teach it about type matchups like flints tried too

Even with help from Misty's Wooper(I type-locked gym leaders), they still don't stand a chance against Jessie's Ultra Beast.
Team Rocket wins and steals all the pokemon.

I'm fine with these rules although I would add in a rule been unless Ash or trainer was supposed to catch or have that mythical or legendary pokemon it is randomize into another Legendary or Mythical Pokémon basically, I still like to see Legendary still feel like "Legendary Pokémon" from the anime. 👍 I'm curious on how Ash will deal Larvitar been outside his Pokéball when he evolves into a Pupitar and Tyranitar later. 🤔 Nice Ash doing better then canon with catching Budew on route 1. 🙂 Wait a minute? This mean Professor Oak won his bet against Gray. Fun fact: It's actually inconsistant whether or not a Pokemon eating a Poke Ball nullifies it. Yes here was the infamous dude who used a Master Ball on Whiscash and it ate the ball, nullifying it, but May caught her Munchlax because it ate one of her Pokeballs and was caught.
I’d say the Coin Flip Rule applies to this. It can be either or depending on the situation.
