Mackell was such an underrated player, those side of the net goals are an amazing talent. He was also very fast and a great all round player. Too bad for Boston that they didn't have the other talents to surround Mackell.
I think 544 were his regular season totals. The 561 includes playoff goals. Not sure why they don't include playoff goals in a player's totals. Gretzky has 894 regular season goals and 122 playoff goals for a total of 1,016 goals. To me that is the real total. Richard had 544 regular season goals and 82 playoff goals for 626 goals.
