Another incredible video from Snowbird! Keep them coming! I had surgery a month ago and use these videos as motivation to get back healthy and strong to get back out to Utah
Sweet tape! Rope drop - insane!! I know the GoPro makes it look not steep and some of this stuff looked STEEP! Glad you're hittin' it for me! Thanks for taking me along!
keep the battery warm when you arent using it! dont just leave it in your gopro on your helmet and then turn it on when you want to record. and yeah 100% need to have enduro batteries!
You make these runs look so easy! I hit the bird the first time ever and looked down some of these runs and could not understand how you do these so fast, while recording, AND talking to us! crazy skill!
LCC is by far the best place to ski in North America. Snow quality, terrain is unmatched. I've skied all over and there really isn't any comparison. Waiting for the next storm cycle and I'm going back out there. Northeast ski season is a joke with rain every week. I've had enough.
Although it was quick I’m glad I was able to catch you at the bird in that tram line. It was nice to see you there. Stay safe and healthy this season brotha.
The mountain I call my home. Drooling right now but have my week booked for the spring with my kids. Your snowbird vids get me stoked. You also were at aspen and those mountains where I spent a full season, I couldn’t help watching those as well. Great shots and some amazing powder in this vid.
POW at the Cirque! Perfect timing you scored. That was flashbacks to last seasons pow days. Amazing content as always man, stay safe out there with all the snow in Luna!
I just got back! Was at the Bird from Sunday through Wednesday, then I was at Brighton on Thursday for a "rest" day before heading back to L.A. You clearly chose the best day for Snowbird and with the locals helping out, it was an excellent day for all! I wish I had seen this a week ago so I could have planned some of these lines. (Only "Some!" I'm not at all near you guys' level.) The year is starting to look better with snow.
Absolute banger Lucas!! This is my new favorite video of yours. You did a great job capturing an all time day. Skiing with a local or a friend showing you around is so cool and so much fun!
GAD2 was sick on 1/11/24. Was on the 20th or so chair up Gadzoom and headed straight for GAD2. The trees around S.T.H were amazing. Knee deep fresh powder. Hit the Cirque later in the day. A classic powder day at the Bird. I love that place.
Thanks for sharing your day. You do an outstanding job. Snuck up the road mid day yesterday for a week at the Iron Blosam. Currently stuck on Interlodge and your video has us stoked for what will be an epic week. Keep on rock’n.
im starting to realize i am going to need some powder skis for this. hopefully i can pick up a used pair in town. my 93's are definitely not going to cut it.
Many days a 93 under foot is great at snowbird. But yeah if you go on a day with big powder I would recommend renting a powder ski at a shop or even at the resort. I mean buying is awesome as well but kinda expensive and ROI depends a bit on how many powder days you get
Lucas, I am not sure if you’re at snowbird right now, but we’re expecting a huge storm and the mountain to be closed tomorrow. Do you think we’ll be closed or we’ll be skiing tomorrow?
You will almost 100% be fully closed tomorrow and likely in interlodge for the day if the storm performs the way it says it’s supposed to. I would say skiing may resume Monday afternoon or even Tuesday.
I'm sad we missed this rope drop Thursday, but we were still able to have a blast lapping gadzoom and gad-2 all day! The glades were filled with freshies and pillows all day long 🤌🏻
I was talking to a couple friends who coach up in Washington and they were saying it was like 20 below sans wind, looks like Utah is getting the cold fluff and meanwhile it was borderline rain with 50 mph winds today at squaw!! Need some love down here in Tahoe! Guess for now I'll have to live vicariously through youtube. Get some face shots for me home slice.
For fun, next time I ski steep tight trees, I’m only using my left pole while keeping my right pole out front and steady. Lucas makes it looks so effortless but I’m sure it’s not.
Remember skiing the Cirque regularly when I was a ski bump there in 74. One of our regulars skied 223 downhills as his powders ski's and would straight line it LOL. Braver than me!
Peter have to say never really hip checked, at least not intentionally. Just jumped in and started cranking short turns as soon as I could to control my speed. Maybe our narrow ski's of the early 70's slowed us up as we certainly did not float like modern ski's do today. My ski's where Rossignol ROC SM550's I believe, Rossignol's top GS ski which I think had a 66mm waist. Being a ski bum in those days we waited for no one! Lovely to see Lucas enjoying the powder. @@PeterDavis-nj5tc
@@garypoyntz6948 I hear ya Gary. There was nothing like pushing the tips down the fall line on serious pow day at AltaBird, fresh snow boiling up in front of you til it blows into your face and over the shoulders. It can still be done on todays skis, you just need to keep on the front/tips to get that pow build-up. My experience, your mileage may vary. Cheers.
There’s no right or wrong way to ski in my opinion. I do it to have fun and be outside. The term you’d be looking for rather than “hip check” is called a slash.
Is there an alternative to holding the camera at the end of your pole? It would be cool if the camera could be mounted on, say, a rig attached to your helmet with the camera in a similar location in front of you, so that you could be free to plant both poles. I guess that presents safety issues in a fall, but it would be cool....
Just wait until the next two days "Saturday: Chance of precipitation is 100%. New snow accumulation of 19 to 25 inches possible. Sunday Chance of precipitation is 100%. New snow accumulation of 18 to 24 inches possible."
@@LucasCatania17 very cool! Thanks for sharing. I was baffled. As an older guy it’s sometimes tough for me to keep up with technology. I really enjoy your videos. Their quality is really amazing.
