Nice to hear that he does have fans in the U.S. I have asked like 100 different movie reviewers on youtube to make reviews of some of their movies, that is just impossible. Everybody is like, who the hell are those random guys ??
I can't believe they were not big in America in 1983. In Australia, they were huge, and every time they had a new movie, everyone would go. All through the 70's and 80's. We absolutely loved them!
Neither had a fraction of the fame in US they had in the rest of the world. They Call Me trinity was their biggest hit in America. Ace High, Boot Hill, Trinity Is Still My Name and God Forgives...I Don't got B movie treatment. They tried to make Hill a star in America, but the two films he did here (March or Die with Gene Hackman and Mr. Billion with Jackie Gleason) were big flops. Superfuzz was popular here, but his other 70's and 80's film either got very limited release or straight to video release here.
I grew up with Movies from Bud & Terence, I always watched them as a kid on Sundays when Grand Pa came over with VHS movies from them, and we'd watch, laugh, eat (like the epic scenes from these guys, lol) and sometimes even fight together with Grand Pa (for fun of course). I was Terence & he was Bud. He actually looked a little bit like him. Those are truly grand memories! Thanks Bud & Terence for giving me the childhood om my life ;)
I saw some movie of yours yesterday with my best friend. Remembering our childhood in the 80s. You both were a big part of it. We will miss Bud forever. Have a great time up there hero.👊🏻 ..... .two of your loving fans✌🏽✌🏻😢
I've totally missed this interview OMG, how could I !!!! Thank you so much robatsea2009!! They're my heroes !! The funny thing is that although they're Italian they are dubbed in Italian..... in Italy :-)
I love this interview! Bud Spencer and Terence Hill will always be me and my dad's favourite actors ever! And we were deeply saddened by the passing of Bud Spencer RIP. But thanks to the internet we can always watch their movies!
Thank you very much for this video I saw scenes ever recorded on the set of Terence Hill and Bud Spencer was a great surprise to see this video brilliant
These guys were a legend when a was a kid, I was born in 1980. If you were a kid in the 80s and you lived in Italy, you basically grew up with these guys. I love them and Terence is so hot. His real name is Mario Girotti.
These two made my childhood a much better time! By the sound of his voice Terence did all his own voice dubbing for the bulk of their movies together (Crimebusters in 1977 and the next 8 films with Bud). While Bud seems to have used a voice actor.
My all time favorite duo. And definitely one of my childhood heroes whose shine has not diminished over the years. On the contrary; it was only a couple of years ago I learned that Bud used to be an olympic swimmer, a lawyer and has registered several patents.
For those who can receive MHz Worldview on their cable, satellite, or PBS system, Terence Hill is playing a small town priest-detective in the Italian TV series "Don Matteo." And he's still gorgeous.
Terence lived for so many years in Florida, if my mind doesn't fault. Also his wife is american, now they live in Italy, nearby the town where they shoot his tv-show Don Matteo.
r.i.p. bud i just hope god dosent take his pan of beans from him or he will get a slap. great films, no violence, no swearing, no sex, just good funny family stuff. Much love from all your u.k. fans big man.
Watching the Trinity shows in my pre-teens.... almost thought I should get a horse and a gun and go west... I think I turned 12 a year later. The 'roaming for action - good guys outside the law' was (and is) a much more appealing lifestlye than schoolwork or accounting with each day an adventure. Awesome interview, loved their shows, had my kids watch them, too... These guys were genius together! :)
Stipe Nazorin He was a successful swimmer before he started his movie career. He was the first italian to swim the 100m freestyle in less than one minute in 1950. He reached the 100m freestyle semi finals in two consecutives Olympics (Helsinki and Melbourne). From 1949 to 1957 he won 7 times the 100m freestyle italian national championship. He was a water polo player too. He won the italian national championship in 1954 with his team, S.S. Lazio. He was a great athlete.
Bud reminds me of the guy who came to help me as a kid being bullied. He showed up when I was in trouble. That friend could clear out a whole batch of punk thugs the same way Bud did, named Ron. I love watching these movies, Terence is funny. They're numerous placements as a duo in various times and jobs is like the 3 Stooges placements. Same team, different a scenarios.
I grew up watching these two, rip Bud you beautiful man, all my love to you Terence, my first ever crush when I was an 11 year old girl ❤ The two of you made movie gold, and the friendship you shared is to be admired ❤
A reason for theyr success in Germany etc. are the ecellent sinchroun voice actors. So the movie feels perfect. But when I see it in english, it feels like the soul is out of the movie. For me personaly the german voices are the best synchrounised one.
I had that EXACTLY same thought in my mind. Even tho I dont understand that much German I still prefer it synced in German. And as you say when I watch them in English it seems like something is missing. Maybe its because thats the way we saw the movies at the first time when we were kids and it stuck. Either way I love them both. Part of my childhood.
is there anybody who lives in miami and a fan of the duo who can do a before after/then and now locations it would generate a lot´s a Wies because of the fans all around the world specialy "who finds a friend finds a treasure" location with the nativs bongo bongo island
Hearing Bud speak English is extremely rare, he doesn't speak German either, all films used vocal actors for which ever country the release was marketed for, When I came across "I'm for the hippopotamus" which was quite a few into my collection, it was then you heard Buds real deep voice singing Grau Grau Grau, RIP Jumbo, God forgives, But I don't for he who took you from us all.
Not quite right. Carlo Pedersoli could speak a little German, but of course not fluently. The movies were mostly shot in Italian language (because his English wasn't good either) and of course he didn't do the voiceovers himself. He even had a dub-voice for Italian (not all movies!) because of his heavy Neapolitan accent. ;-)
Never bothered their paycheck. Anyone born in Europe before 1990 knows very well who they are and knows their movies. Why they were never big in USA?... Because USA never saw money in them. No media exposure no sale or movies. Simple as that. Many of their movies was made in South America instead.
I think it was a time where it was hard to compete with the comedy and action-movies in America. I'm born in th 90s but still think that the 80s brought so much quality in American cult-movies. They just followed the trend and it was very different from Bud Spencer and Terrence Hill movies at the time.
RIP Bud Spencer from your fans in the USA, we love you!
Nice to hear that he does have fans in the U.S. I have asked like 100 different movie reviewers on youtube to make reviews of some of their movies, that is just impossible. Everybody is like, who the hell are those random guys ??
Hi
Kenneth Pedersen I live in Australia and a very big fan of Hill and Spencer
Are they known or celebs there ?
His wife Lori Hill is American. They lived in Los Angeles for a long time.
I can't believe they were not big in America in 1983. In Australia, they were huge, and every time they had a new movie, everyone would go. All through the 70's and 80's. We absolutely loved them!
+Dan_from_Epsilon_Crucis Same in Austria! Agree to 100%

I didnt know they are popular in Australia. wow!

Hollywood protects itself
I think they were popular ( and still are) everywhere. Here in Czech republic everyone knows them. They were my heores when I was a kid.
This video for the first time are seeing many people in Italy and Spain, is a great gift for all fans of Bud Spencer and Terence Hill

Hearing Bud speaking english feels extremely rare!
I own Extralarge seasons 1&2 and We Are Angels box set all have English language tracks
Not my proudest fap.
I agree. With other interviews also Bud (Carlo) talks his own Italian language. Terence (Mario) knew some English later.
I never knew any of these 2 speaking English, that's pretty cool. Bud usually grunts in most his films.
I saw some movie of yours yesterday with my best friend. Remembering our childhood in the 80s. You both were a big part of it. We will miss Bud forever. Have a great time up there hero.👊🏻 .....

How many languages they speak, Italian, German and English, what else?, these guys were very intelligent.
Bud Spencer for a man of his age & build back in 83' seemed to be in top health even after running around in some of his film scenes

Don't fully understand why they weren't as big in America as they were everywhere else. But it doesn't bother me and I hope it never bothered them.
