You need the Maillard reaction on the steak for flavour 👍 The choice of bun/ bread is essential and it must be toasted - caramelised onions is also a must for steak 😋

I’m simple… cook steak in a cast iron with thyme or rosemary, salt pepper , garlic. If you charcoal grill it… marinate it in dales lol

Just do your research and you'll quickly find out which are the best ones to go to, and there are quite a few that make the most dynamic cheesesteak you've ever eaten.
