If you've been considering bringing a Prophet X into your creative fold, now is the time! A limited number of units are still available at your favorite music stores.
Thank you to everyone who has embraced Prophet X and made it such a beloved instrument. While production is ending, the Prophet X's impact on music will continue to resonate for decades to come.

Hi James, happy to help - I can’t realty elaborate more than what was already stated on our post…but there are no current plans for a Prophet X successor, however that doesn’t necessarily mean there won’t be. We’ll continue to support the Prophet X like all our other discontinued instruments for as long as possible - parts needed still exist but are becoming more difficult to source in bulk quantities. Getting a Prophet X before stock runs out is a good idea!

Changing the subject a bit: what is the chance that a Polyevolver II could be considered as a future build?
I don't have any idea, but I do THINK the P12 was Dave's attempt to kind of recreate that idea and then perhaps further it with the spin off of the Pro 2. I have the PE and it's an amazing machine.
I didn't like that you couldn't sample directly into the Prophet X the way that you could with the Roland V-Synth.
Yeah, that would be a nice feature if they had it as a secondary option to use samples.
V-synth owner here. I sample my sounds into Reaper. Then exported them into Audacity for additional editing. This is then loaded on the Compact flash card right from the computer. Now pristine edited samples can be added to the V-Synth. Sounds like more work than it really is. I think the same process would work for the X, but instead using a USB stick (why didn’t Sequential use SD cards?)
Good news for us PXL owners DSI will support their synths into its future
I had one for a while but if you are in a daw environment I think the offering is a little redundant with samples and other granular synths, as well as I have the iridium now that replaced it , the synth engine I thought sounded good, But given only so much space it had to go for my workflow
SO many synths are gonna be discontinued, because the DSP chips are not gonna be made anymore. Such a shame.
Does that mean they will be impossible to repair at some point?
@@TwinCitiesOxygen Correct. It's already getting hard to find a DSP, which debuted in the early 90s. They have long since been obsoleted. So in 5 years canniballization will be the only solution. In 15 years, you won't even be able to scrounge that.

Looks like a great synth, but for me and the speed I have to write music I am mainly in the box.
Wow! I thank God I have analog synths, tape machines, and mixers. I would just give up music if l had to use protools and fake emulation plugins..
