You taught me more about baking than I'd ever known in my 65 years. You made it fun, relatable, and relaxing. You instilled courage to fail, if necessary, in order to learn. I kept coming back, and you became my favorite baker.

Hi Jack, I never leave comments but this I think is important. I'm a 71 year young, retired RN, from California. At the start of the pandemic I saw massive hoarding, flour, yeast, topped the list. I NEVER BAKED BREAD, I knew a little about "fermented" yeast. I turned to UA-cam and found your channel. You were and are a delight. I make beautiful sourdough bread because of your channel and charm. If you're allowed to replay those earlier shows new viewers would find them helpful. Best wishes from a forever fan. ❤

Just yesterday, I gave a sourdough loaf to one of my neighbours ( I do this every weekend, by the way, cos they love it so much 😊) and they shared it with their extended family, and the wonderful comments I got back about how wonderful it tastes and they all wanted me to open up a bakery 😮 and that is all down to you and your amazing teaching. I watched so many you tube channels to learn how to make sourdough and disaster after disaster until YOU. So all I can say is 'Thank you, thank you, thank you.'

Jack! Do what you must! I’ve been freeloading along since near the beginning of the UA-cam channel. You brought back to life my interest in baking and cured the problem I ran into with sourdough. I suggested you write a book. You wrote it. I bought it. I can’t rationalize involvement in the club…very old guy, limited income….but wish you and its members the best. There’s a wealth of material in your video back catalog, assuming you leave them up. And the cheeky chap producing everything via his phone in his home kitchen remains the golden era of the series. Hate to see you join the exodus of more and more long-time UA-cam types who feel they’ve worn it out (or it’s worn them out), but it is a logical development. Evolve or die. Better that you evolve. That is you, personally, Jack. You’re a gem. Thank you.

Jack, I always wanted to make sourdough bread and then a friend of mine gave me a starter. I found you online during the pandemic. I love your attitude, the freedom you gave me to try it and the courage to make it happen. I couldn’t quite follow your pattern of water and it was very runny for the longest time. My bread was flat and hard but I still loved it. I kept making it that way until I went out on my own and just made bread like I used to make yeast bread. I realize the texture is what counts. I now make bread once a week, and not worry about throwing away anything that I’m not going to use. Baking every day is ridiculous. We can’t eat that much bread anyway. I have become inventive and put different things in my bread that everyone loves. It’s rising well I just have a great time. Believe me Jack. You are responsible. Thank you so much for bringing sourdough into my life. It’s part of the fulfilling part that I enjoy so much.
I am American and I have a hard time understanding your accent but I wish you luck in whatever you want to do. The best of everything for you Jack. You deserve it!

Bake with Jack is one of the UA-cam channels I switch on religiously. Your philosophy of baking , your approach to bakers who have not yet acquired the confidence they need to understand how forgiving bread making really is; your approach to folk who are unsure whether their approaches to baking bread is right or wrong, makes your videos so good. And here's the thing: psychologists discovered decades ago that when one gets paid for doing what you enjoy, most if not all the pleasure and enjoyment from that activity goes out the door. Sounds to me that ending the limited liability company may give you back the joy you got from your craft.

Not only have you taught me THE PRINCIPLES of bread-baking, but I think you just taught me an important life lesson: It's OK to keep trying to do the right thing - even if you aren't sure you know what you're doing. The important thing is to TRY. (And write it down, of course.) I LOVE that! Jack, you are a fantastic teacher. You have freed me from slavishly clinging to recipes to understanding the PROCESS of bread baking. Now I feel joy in the journey to that loaf of bread, not just worrying that my loaves will not be "the best bread ever," but truly appreciateing the thrill of watching that blob of flour, water, and yeast , ect. turn into an actual LOAF OF BREAD! Thank you! May God give you peace!

Jack, like so many people I can only thank you and wish you all the best. I watched your few episodes and than your 101 Sourdough From Start To Finish came out - and that was it. Started slow and after few small hiccups a master piece emerged - homemade sourdough bread, 40% Rye with Caraway and Thyme, just like I remember from my childhood growing up in Europe. Now being few months shy of 70 I can enjoy that artisan marvel again, at least 1 loaf a week. And it also proved a hit within and outside family, whoever tasted it asks for the recipe and directions how to make it. Then I send then to your YT channel. Thanks to you many people enjoy it now as they taste the difference from any commercial product. It simply multiplies and grows in numbers and that is to your credit. Wishing you all the best in your new endeavors while enjoying a piece of wholesome bread in British Columbia, Canada. 🙏🙏🙏

Totally get it. I'm glad our paths crossed when they did, I was in a bad place and the one thing I had my heart set on was baking sourdough and was constantly failing. Tried your method and now successfully make two loaves a week. As humans we are constantly coming into contact with each other, sometimes fleeting, and we'll never know the impact that has had 🥰

Every point you made here makes complete sense and your honesty, integrity and willingness to help others is a shining example for the rest of us. Loving the shorts, really pleased whenever they pop up! If you do get back to full vids here on YT, I'll no doubt devour them with the same enthusiasm as the other 200+
Whatever path you choose, we'll be here, hugs at the ready! See you on 21/5/24...can't wait :)

Wishing you nothing but the best in whatever your future brings. I’ll be in London visiting my daughter early June. Do you have any events planned? Anyway, you are the BEST! You are getting wiser. That is always a good thing. I went through the same thing when first opening a medical office. It quickly became clear that I did not own it. It owned me and was an unwelcomed distraction from the patients that I loved. After two years, that was it, closed, and life was good again. Being free to focus on my craft again was wonderful. I just ordered 2 books and scissors from your store. Thank You !

Hey Jack! I was a baker long before Covid, but I came across your channel while trying to find new ways to score my sourdough loaves, and I was hooked! As far as your decision, I too had a UA-cam channel (Conquer Your Kitchen) that I pulled the plug on because of the “Reels” syndrome. Not many people want to be taught, they just want to be shown 15 seconds at a time.
My reasons were a bit different, but I understand and appreciate where you are. Thank you so much for EVERYTHING that you’ve given to the baking world! Good luck in all of your future endeavors, and your old vids will continue to help the baking world! Cheers mate!
