Watching this channel played a big part on me choosing the 468 RS cam n my soft tail breakout 117. With a hpi 2-1 n a SnS 55m ported manifold. Screaming eagle tuner😢(due to warranty)= 117hp-136tq.😁
You had me pulling my Dyno sheet back out Tall. 😂. Knowing the reputation of my dyno guy I figured I had a SAE, but I had to look….. SAE on my sheet.👍🏾
The shop that did my first cam install & dyno tune, gave me a generic dyno sheet with no information but the graph & output. After having issues with the tune I went somewhere else and it was a can tune, never put on the dyno.
I had a bike dynotuned. I looked at the sheet. It does not state sae or std. This video has me wondering which it was. It was dynotuned twice. The second time they made 7 or 8 more horsepower than the first shop did. The first was an independent shop and the second was the local Harley Dealer.
Hey Adam I truly respect your knowledge as a mechanic. Now tell me how has the reliability of your Pan America been? I really want one, but read a lot of bad stuff on them
Hey Tall, what is all done to your bike? I've got zippers stage 3 muscle kit on my lowrider s and would love to make the horsepower that you are making!
If the baseline is std and the final is std the gains are still the same overall gain is the same the #'s shouldnt matter much anyway the gain should be the focus cause baselines are different so final #'s will be different
guy that tuned my motor has years of experience in his trade, along with two land speed records. if you know what you are doing, you should be able to dial in all the perimeters of fuel, air, spark, and timing in either format. I will agree with you if the tuner just graduated from some schooling doesn't know his craft. I was at my local harley shop yesterday talking to the service guy, I asked if he knew Steve. he states he was just in here yesterday helping their tuner on a motor they were unable to tune. Steve, being the dude that did my motor. If you know your craft, what format shouldn't matter? It just makes an easier step.
I asked those dyno guys this question! He said std was more accurate and repeatable yr round. It’s only like a 2% difference in std from sae. So many people get wrapped up in all this. A dyno is only a tuning tool. Everyone’s reads differently anyways.
Please get a second opinion, it's disturbing that he would tell you that. Dyno numbers and Dyno tuning is two separate things. Dyno tuning is self explained. Your bike is getting tuned and adjustments are being made using the dyno. Getting your bikes Dyno numbers is seeing who much power it's making at the rear wheel. I hate hearing that you was told this, that's exactly why I felt the need to make this video. My motive is to shed some light on the difference. My bike made 183 RWHP using STD but I know that's not a real number. The real number is 177 using the correct SAE. However, at the end of the day, it all comes down to the rider. Big horsepower numbers doesn't always mean low track times. I've seen people with less horsepower make super fast passes.
1:10 - I'm probably VERY late to the party with this comment but you KILLED it with that intro!!!! I loved it!!!!
Good information thanks guys
That new intro is absolutely awesome
Great job on the new intro, love it!!!
Thanks Adam for knowledge. And as always, appreciate what You do Tall.
Love the new intro Tall! Blessings🙏
Thank you 🙌
The new intro is awesome
Thank you

I like the bars u put down on the track.nice work/nice content/knowledge!
Glad you like it. Thanks for watching
Just remember, nobody wants STD’s! 😂
Good show 👏
Thanks, thanks for watching.
Good info. Everyone needs to get on the same page.
100% Adam! Thank you Tall.

Just checked mine and have CF SAE smoothing

✌🏾Great information but you know some people will get it to there fellings on that.👍🏾
I'd rather inform the people that's trying to build their bike. It's important that they know.
BARZZZZ on that new intro🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

How can a dyno be done on my Harley without voiding my warranty?

Does your Dyno sheet have an SAE or STD correction factor? Does your local shop use SAE or STD on their Dyno sheets?
Love when ppl say RWHP on bikes
For cars ? Yea bc there FWHP AWHP RWHP depending on the car
I think if he know u know the difference it’s not a huge deal

I agree, if you base line STD "but I'm not sure why you would" then you should stick with it when you do your final results.
It's only 4 hp. 4 torque. That's all. No big deal. You won't even feel that. Unless is 15 hp 15 torque
I wouldn't necessarily say your tuner is fooling you.
Ok, so if it's not industry standard and it's out dated and reports inflated numbers, why else would they do it?
As long as the before measurements are in the same system as the after. It's like using metric vs sae measurements. Some people are hesitant to change

Sure sounds like youve been taking shots at a certain camp these last couple videos. Yall gonna line em up?
Butt dyno is the only thing that matters. Not a piece of paper.
It’s 2-3% not a big deal
You're kidding right? 2-3% on big Horsepower cars, it can mean 100 or more HP gain. Again, ask yourself why?
@@TravelingTallIt was legit a 2hp/2tq difference between sae/std on my bike.
@@TravelingTall 2-3% of 1000hp is only 20-30hp. Significant, but not 100hp bud
