Lack of oil in the sight glass might be due to the engine sitting in a different orientation than originally designed. I think originally the orientation was slightly more vertical. Find that motors original bike and measure the engine angle.

You´re probably right. All Honda Motors are build into the Motorcycle the way that the Name is horizontal to the Ground. Yours however is tilted to the front of the bike by a good few degrees. That might be it

I have the first 300 swapped grom in DFW and to see the oil correctly through the window you need to jack the front of the bike up because the swap makes the engine tilt forward

Damn, if Honda made the grom come with their 300 out of the shop I'd buy one so fast.

If you ever get to tearing the motor apart to see how it is, let me know how the wear on the cylinders are. Since they now have to endure som gravitational force on the sides.

I have 7k hard miles on mine so far without any issues. I also have a big bore kit on it but plan on tearing it down for rebuild at 12k

Nicenice, would love one of those too. But here in Germany a big swap like this on a bike not certified for more power or a bigger motor is impossible to realize. @@quanwick4516
