Filipinos are no stranger when it comes to CGI work (Inside Out, the design for Groot, Finding Nemo, etc) and I think we just need money and time to fully showcase our talent when it comes to anything CGI and big budget project related. Pinakita ko ang trailer sa kapatid ko (na judgemental sa movies) and first thing that came out from his mouth: "Ang ganda ng CGI." Hopefully this show will show the general audience na Filipinos are capable of doing more and mamatay na ang stigma about Filipinos = bad CGI. It is not the artists' fault, they just needed more time and money.
Nakita ko ang post ni Bitoy about sa mga bashers ng show na ito. Here's my take about it:
It is fine to be skeptical. It is fine if we felt uncomfortable seeing some typical Pinoy TV tropes gaya nung campire scene na yun sa trailer. But we should never let our bias and emotions define the quality of this show. By the time na ipapalabas ito, we should put our expectations away and let these story tellers tell us their story and from there, we can judge whether this show is good or not. We can only truly define the quality of this show ONCE we've seen all episodes. I, for one, am hoping that this lives up to the hype and deserves the title: Voltes V.

gets ko si sir Bitoy kasi andami naman kasi talagang bashers na may masabi na lang esp those in network wars. Valid yung frustration ni sir Bitoy sa mga bashers kasi lahat naman ng nakita sa trailer dumaan muna sa Toei, kaya kung approved sa Toei, it means may dahilan bakit nandyan yan. Hanggang ngayon kasi masyadong engraved pa rin satin yung crab mentality na kahit gaano pa kaganda yung gawa ng pinoy hahanap pa rin tayo ng butas. Kaya nga bilib ako sa gma, after being bullied for so long sa cgi nila, that did not stop them from making/investing into this kind of shows. kumbaga they got the balls. sobrang tapang at risk takers, something na we should give credit to
GMA7 always go out from stereotypes.. napaka underrated lang ng mga palabas at artista nila dahil malakas ang sindikato ng abscbn sa paninira sa kapuso..
pinagkakagastusan ng gma7 ang mga palabas nila.. walang kupit at yabang... hindi dinadaan sa artista pero dinadaan nila sa storylines at quality..
thank god at napansin ng husto ang GMA7 after the permanent closure ng kabila..
BIG RESPECT to GMA7! Tahimik lang sila pero they work hard to give their televiewers what they really deserve!

May kapit ang abs cbn.. I think they sell their artist like what hollywood did. Kaya ganyan din ugali ng fans nila mana sa Culto nila na sinasamba.
GMA is indeed a trailblazer! May bayag sumubok ng kakaiba, matapang sa paghahatid ng bago sa viewers at hindi pakakahon sa nakagawian. 2023 is a great year to be a kapuso!
Think about it, noon, nagpapalabas lang ang GMA ng animes sa primetime and now, they are making a live adaptation ng isang anime sa primetime. Full circle. In the 90s, as I enjoy animes sa gabi habang naghahapunan, I never thought na magkakaroon ang isa sa mga ito ng live action adaptation. Galing!

Not just from TV. Kahit sa movies, they made history in the past, namely Rizal and Muro Ami. Damn those works were superb! Mahusay sila sa hisfic at sa may moral lessons. Sayang at hindi na nila nasundan and they focused on TV series.
They really take risks, first and out of the box concepts such as their cultural, historical, epic,LGBT themed, fantasy, adbokaseryes and more.
Yung creative team kasi ng GMA malalakas din. Ung Maria clara maganda din. Ung original enkantadia ska mulawin ang lakas noon. They are raising the bar high slowly but surely

GMA is doing a great job offerring a wide variety of shows. Yun yung ma aapreciate mo sa kanila eh, they are willing to take risks and maglabas ng malaking budget. Take note, this is for free TV. So malaking sugal.

Honestly, GMA raised the bar when creating Sentai Robot films in comparison to Japanese Sentai Robot Shows! My only gripe is Riot needs to improve explosions like the way objects interact with smoke plumes. Other than that, the rest of it are breathtaking! Kudos to the GMA team! 👍 👏👏👏🎉
Same comment. Hindi rin consistent ang texturing sa CGIs kaya may ibang scene na hindi pa masyadong realistic tingnan. But I heard from a source kulang pa rin talaga sa manpower ang Riot at GMA Post. This type of project needs hundreds of artists. What we see in the trailer is actually very impressive already given the situation of the prod. Imagine if GMA has same level of budgeting as Disney or WB.

Nanotice ko lang sa lumang voltes V, sobrang bilis matuto ng mga technicals & hidden armory ng robot. And this mega trailer ng voltes V 2022, grabe.... Amazing!!

I 100% agree. we need some honest reaction tlga about the quality...i can say those people na under Sir Mark and CGI and Riot did a good job , alam ko na un ung goal ni Sir Mark noon pa kaya napost poned some of Encantadia works at future prequels at remakes . and a plan of multiverse ng Ravelos but we all know ABS doing their best to do it
btw ung helmet at suit malayo sa nakikita nyo ngaun it was declined by TOEI so they did 7 revisions of it...so i can say we dont blame the loval team kasi ung una at second suit at helmet ay parang Not anime-ish

in fact when you look at Japanese live action tv series, their CGI is actually mediocre

We are in the new age of Philippine TV. MCI at VVL palang.
I think this one will set a new standard sa mga fantasy shows ng Philipine TV if not buong ASEAN. Iilan lang ang ganto, Mecha series na inadapt from anime. Kahit US and Japan hirap makapag adapt ng live adaptation ng anime, lalo na mecha series. Tapos in terms of acting, halos lahat cringe specially yung acting ng mga Japanese.
Ang ilan lang na magandang adaptaion ng anime is Alice in Borderland, Samurai X, tsaka Bleach tapos the rest na may heavy CGI, so, so na lang. Yung Attack on Titan na Live action nga iniba din story although ang ganda ng CGI.
Then, we talk about super sentai series (Power Rangers, Kamen Rider, etc.) which were already decades old pero check nyo yung effects nila, di pa rin ganun kapulido. Di rin sya full CGI. Cringe din mga acting ng actors nila pero it is intended kasi to be viewed majorly ng mga bata kaya di na napapansin yon.
Dun sa mga bashers, ang hirap nyo talagang i-please. Don na lang kayo sa Darna, Batang Quiapo, at Dirty Linen nyo. XD

When this was first teased, ang sinabi nung creators is hindi siya gagawin like isang buong teleserye until the end. Gagawin daw siyang parsng per series. It took long for this show to be aired or teased kasi per shoot ng GMA, pinapadala pa sa Japan yung episode for approval.

I think kaya mukhang cartoony yung mga costumes (including ung helmet) is because nasa contract ng gma and toei to retain yung mga aspects na ganun. so I can say that those details are intentional.
Hahahaha. To each his own. I like it. Voltes V is not real. Realistically speaking, it's from an anime tv series and so it works, costumes and all. I'm not complaining. I don't like it. I love it!

Yung fight scene po ni steve at price sardoz.. sa isang kamay ng robot is kamay ni gador isang ancient robot na piniloto ni price sardoz sa last fight nya with voltes v.. dyan din sa part na yan malalamn na mg kapatid sila sa ama..
They never forgot the back story of the Armstrong family which built the foundation for the creation of Voltes V. This mega trailer may not be 100% perfect but it set standards on modern CGI at least in the Philippines.
Key notes
- more improvement sa paghawak ni Little John sa Volt Frigate. Konting angas pa like his anime counterpart.
- Slight loophole yung eksena sa bonfire nina Steve at Jamie. May nakakalusot na Pinoy teleserye cliche (agawan)
I think yung agawan is the pinoy touch they incorporated in the adaptation. Not complaining. I assume it will give the characters more depth and make them more human if that make sense.
I felt that in the brainstorming phase of every character, they tried to make himay of the individuality of the main characters. Si steve na bihasang pilot, bagamat bata pa ay "ano kaya ang personal niyang buhay bukod sa training na pinakita sa umpisa ng anime? May nobya ba siya? A nerd? Paano siya bilang bagets na piloto?" these questions might have been thrown in the brainstorming phase tapos nirelay sa toie para mabigyang linaw ang depth ng characters and the team was given the go signal to go deeper sa character arcs ng v5 characters na wala sa anime. I still believe na mild lamang ito at dapat daanan in order to flesh out v5's character arcs.

True lalo na kung nanunuod ka ng mga series ng japan na gaya neto, hindi man perfect(Same sa japan) pero sobrang ganda and sobrang improvement para sa Pilipinas! AS IN! need lang talaga ng napakalaking budget para sa ganitong palabas.
The trailer actually shows a scene in the final episode, the Steve Vs Zardos sword fight and it looks like they've finished shooting everything CGI to the last episode and it gives me hope na they really took time..

Feeling ko sir you haven't watched the Voltes V in your childhood. For me, and animation and CGI work is great already given na its done by Filipino, yung consistency nalang ang aabangan natin kung magtutuloy tuloy or not. Pero parang international na ang audience nito since may reactions na din ang mega trailer from japanese, so dapat from start to finish maganda.

I've seen it along with Ghost Fighter and Yu-Gi-Oh pero I was too young to remember the story and the names of the characters. May mga laruang Voltes V rin ako kaya balak kong panuorin yung entirety ng anime.

No po weekly po ito total of 80 episodes and tapos na filming nila dito. So binusisi talaga nila per episode and need pa ng approval ni Toei kada episode na sinasubmit nila sa Toei .

Wow! I love it. When is the TV series coming out? I got chills too. I wasn't expecting something this good.
It will air in April 2023. Maria Clara will be replaced by Urduja Season 1 by March or End of Feb. V5 will premiere in late April replacing Urduja.

Sinabi sa interview sa 24 Oras na 2nd quarter ng 2023 ang airing ng Voltes V. Most likely replacing Maria Clara at Ibarra.
Urduja muna yata after ng MCAI. Filler drama lang siya and won't be that long. Tapos nun, Voltes V na. They're buying them more time to finish the whole series.

Tbh the cgi isn't that great (if we compared it to holllywood) but it's a huge improvement for Philippines' cgi, I hope they won't stop improving, and of course those cgi artists need to be paid equally for their hardwork.
Well it's a TV Series with 80 episodes kaya ganyan, pero di hamak na matino naman ang CGI neto sa karamihan ng TV series sa ibang Bansa.

Now I know what kind of mindset you have, instead of accepting that the cgi in Voltes V is not that good compared to shows from other country, ang ginawa mo, cinompare mo sa show na galing din sa Philippines which is mas mababa ang quality.
Cinocompare mo sa show na mas low ang quality kaya syempre mas mag mumukang high quality yung Voltes V 🤡 As I said, the cgi in Voltes V is a huge improvement from previous CGIs here in Philippines but I'm talking about its potential to go further close enough to other country's CGI
if you watch some super sentai or kamen rider series from toei, their cgi is worse compared to the cgi shown here
