    and that 505 hp you still get over 30 mpg highway, complete daily drivability with incredible reliability and an incredibly compact, lightweight engine.. honestly the best production pushrod engine ever made, and one of the best engines of any type (OHV or OHC ever made)

    It's basically a convertible ZO6. Just an incredible machine. I can't even afford this car in my dreams.

    even Jeremy Clarkson of Top Gear fame says the Corvette is a great handling sports car, (rough riding on the normal road, but fantastic on a track)

    It's amazing how a convertible is still so rigid and solid that it gets 1.03G on the skid pad.

    if you are a true car enthusiast you would appreciate the fact that in a vette it takes time and skill to get the most potential out of the car. with a GTR you can drive it at the limit the first day your own it. some want a challenge and thrill not just bragging rights. GTR is a great car but if you listen to any good review it always leaves the reviewers wanting more which is why many GTR owners end up tuning their cars because it gets boring after a while. some want that some don't.

    Oh and the mag-ride is not bullshit. For those that don't know, its the EXACT SAME set of delphi dampers and computer system as utilized in present Ferraris.
    Just watch demonstration videos of standard suspension and the magride over big bumps, the magride basically anticipates it and makes it smooth as butter, whereas the standard suspension just kinda slams over it and responds as you would expect any "dumb" non adaptive suspension to do.

    Pablo Sandoval's mvp prize! go Giants! this car is amazing.
    If only Chevy can do it justice by drastically improving the interior, using higher grade parts, and improving the shifter on all corvettes, this engine is incredible.

  • @jacobpainter3417
    @jacobpainter3417 9 років тому +1

    "How does it only make 505hp?"
    It's a pushrod motor for starters. 2 valves per cylinder.
    and it's a pretty conservative tune as well.
    This thing beats up the C7 stingray and convertibles.
    And while it can be around the same price range, it's typically a little pricier.
    all-in-all it's BAD ASS.
    A C6 Z06 with a rag-top is all it is.
    Such an amazing car.

    With the price of the ZO6 vette you can buy anything else but the vette is a vette , 1 of American best car 30 mpg , 11.9 (1/4) , cheap to fix the engine 4 more performance, good suspension, with my 08 ZO6 I've never had any problems , i just changed tires for better traction, when I go cruising with my brothers i got to wait 4 them to fill up their gas tanks

    i always find it amazing that rangerz06 and other drivers have gotten these cars to 10 seconds on drag radials only, and these driving enthusiast shows cant seem to find anyone who can get within 1 second of that. if i were motor trend or someone like that id hire someone who knew how to show accurate results based on true driving skillls, but then again for the average driver they prob would run a 12.0

    Where have you seen 700+ rwhp N/A z06s? I've seen a few in the low to mid 600 range but none much higher than that. You would need a pretty good amount of head and cam work to pull off 700+.

    • @nightman922
      @nightman922 2 роки тому

      @@Rockdaground if u can get it for that amount. The LS7 also has 505HP and 470lbft torque while C8 stingray has 490HP and 465lbft torque. C8 is also around 300 pounds heavier (3,355 vs 3,647). Any speed difference is found because of the transmission which is personal pref on if you like automatics or manuals

    700 hp in a N/A engine isn't very fun on the road, and definitely NOT a daily driver.. you need to go with forced induction for that. (not a problem, since most people don't care how they get the power) also, most people wouldn't know what to do with 700 hp except crash the vehicle.

    Okay, your point is? 505 hp isn't good enough for you? Or you're just going to repeat what everyone else say. ''Oh how can a car have a big displacement and little power?'' The whole point is you can upgrade your engine with little cost. You go buy a Merc that has 500 hp and try and tune it up and see how much it'll cost.

    Corvette has never had a problem with going fast, so that's not really worth pontificating about all you super-fans.
    Am I to believe that convertible 'vette buyers are too dumb to look past the slalom and g numbers? Is that all it's got, a big engine and a long first gear?
