The real gem is the lyrics: Father, I know that you've witnessed a darkness in me 'Twas spawned in shadows of the old gallows tree I'm but a sad depraved reflection of our inhumanity The warped exaggeration of the lost and darkest of dreams Bring forth a wrath of cleansing fire Here now in mankind's bleakest hour Born of a casket I'm the heir to a corpse I've eyes that see maggots through the thin flesh they bore I shall bloody my hands 'til the last breath be torn from me So blindly we walk the winds of these plagued streets Dead, the once feeling part of me Oh lord divine, please break this silence Destroy your race of faceless liars At the edge of existence We the clays of intention have ripened in your image Ah, the binds of tradition Your archaic deception numbs our empty beings City that stands on a million graves In a world full of hatred to fear enslaved Countless the dead slaughtered in your name Not a utter of your voice have you once repaid No above, no below, just a man letting go When all my earthly desire is disowned No screaming sirens should sound No revelations profound Simply lowered into the ground That's just what I'll be dead in the dirt So blindly we walk the winds of these plagued streets Dead, the once feeling part of me Bring forth a wrath of cleansing fire Here now in mankind's bleakest hour Oh lord divine, please break this silence Destroy your race of faceless liars Necropolis
Just seeing the title = already liking it! Time for more "Goblin Voice" or the "Substitude Teacher" :D Please do more of them. "Statutory Ape" is also really awesome.
At 2:25 you were right. Trevor does, mostly, all the Vocals ...May he rest in peace. Also check out one of the concert shots. Such an amazing and underrated band
haha I got to play with these guys a few years ago in Birmingham. I knew the singer was a huge pothead so I got some edibles to bring to the show. I introduced myself to him and just handed him a handful of gummies. He without hesitation popped them in his mouth lol Super cool dudes.
You can't go wrong with the Black Dahlia Murder you should check out Sunless Empire they just released a video for a few days ago.. or my favorite song Deathmask Divine
I love how even chels realizes how talented Trevor is as a vocalist, dudes highs are so consistent compared to a lot of people that can’t sustain clean highs for long durations
Black Dahlia Murder are always an all out assault, such a brutal band, if i have a request, it would be I Killed The Prom Queen-Kjaerlighet, its a mixture of brutal and chilled, i think both of you guys would like that song, it got me through a hard time and i still listen to it every day now, much love from Stoke On Trent, England
I don't think Deflorate has any of the songs I would consider to be my "favorites" ...... I think my top 2 songs are Elder Misanthropy and Closed Casket Requiem
@@masterblade12 Only one for me, which is I will return. I will return is and will always be a favorite. My favorite album on the other hand has to be ritual. They combined so many of the styles from their earlier albums. Ritual is a very well balanced album IMO.
Christ Deformed is I think one of the most brutal songs they’ve ever written. You’re right, Deflorate is absolutely unrelenting, but it will forever be in my top two (Ritual is an absolute masterpiece)
Add a math teacher back when I was in school that had Rhapsody and who let us listen to whatever we want and I'd suggest a couple of songs by Black Dahlia Murder layer and Cannibal Corpse and he had to look up the lyrics before we listen to the song it wouldn't let me listen to Judas Preist and Cannibal Corpse but there was a few songs by Black Dahlia murder and napalm death that he let me listen to cannibal corpse but that was fine there was only three of us that were metalheads and extreme metal junkies just wanting our daily fix of the metal and the rest of them were normies who listen to freaking country and Taylor Swift and freak out out panik and get mortified every time it was our turn every time I put on that that metal magic it was like a mosh pit it was fine and teachers like oh shit here we go again but deep down inside I'm pretty sure our math teacher was secretly a fan of old school metal and classic rock and trying to hide it I knew he was dying inside whenever he was listening to that Taylor Swift everyday
@@MatandChelsReact I remembered two more songs by black dahlia murder so now I got y'all three to check out. (Into the everblack), (virally yours) and (nocturnal). If y'all like those. I got more for y'all.🤘🤘. Have y'all heard a band called abismal dawn? They or fucking awesome also.
The real gem is the lyrics:
Father, I know that you've witnessed a darkness in me
'Twas spawned in shadows of the old gallows tree
I'm but a sad depraved reflection of our inhumanity
The warped exaggeration of the lost and darkest of dreams
Bring forth a wrath of cleansing fire
Here now in mankind's bleakest hour
Born of a casket I'm the heir to a corpse
I've eyes that see maggots through the thin flesh they bore
I shall bloody my hands 'til the last breath be torn from me
So blindly we walk the winds of these plagued streets
Dead, the once feeling part of me
Oh lord divine, please break this silence
Destroy your race of faceless liars
At the edge of existence
We the clays of intention have ripened in your image
Ah, the binds of tradition
Your archaic deception numbs our empty beings
City that stands on a million graves
In a world full of hatred to fear enslaved
Countless the dead slaughtered in your name
Not a utter of your voice have you once repaid
No above, no below, just a man letting go
When all my earthly desire is disowned
No screaming sirens should sound
No revelations profound
Simply lowered into the ground
That's just what I'll be dead in the dirt
So blindly we walk the winds of these plagued streets
Dead, the once feeling part of me
Bring forth a wrath of cleansing fire
Here now in mankind's bleakest hour
Oh lord divine, please break this silence
Destroy your race of faceless liars
Necropolis
Trevor can write some amazing shit
Trevor was such an amazing lyricist... Rest in POWER MY GUY
R.I.P Trevor!! Got to see them live in 06 at ozzfest.
RIP Trevor Strnad one of the most underappreciated vocalists in metal. Also the monster drummer Shannon Lucas has also left he band.
Ryan knight left and came back tho! Weirdest grooviest guitarist in melodeath
The videos for Goat of Departure and Statutory Ape are also very funny with bangers of songs.
RIP Trevor 🖤
Dude it sucks! 😥
Just seeing the title = already liking it! Time for more "Goblin Voice" or the "Substitude Teacher" :D
Please do more of them. "Statutory Ape" is also really awesome.
Yes! Statutory Ape is a must after seeing him (the ape) in What a Horrible Night to Have a Curse, and now Necropolis lol.
At 2:25 you were right. Trevor does, mostly, all the Vocals ...May he rest in peace. Also check out one of the concert shots. Such an amazing and underrated band
You two should check out Sunless Empire by The Black Dahlia Murder.
Absolutely, one of the best tracks on the new album
they are the most MUSICALLY! Epic!

For sure. I can’t do highs for very long. They just get dry
Dave Grohls brother is named Ryan Knight and Dave couldn't come close to carrying Ryan's jock strap
Mat your t-shirt is so cool!!!

Go back to some of the older stuff, the gorilla suit pertains to a really old music song "statutory ape " by far one of the best songs as well
if u like that kind of song and the video, watch "Everything went black" from them
The bowling alley is in Detroit, can't exactly remember the name but I've been to a show there before which was upstairs above all this
The Magic stick/Majestic
It’s at Garden Bowl in Detroit
No screaming sirens should sound, no revelations profound, simply lowered into the ground, that's just what I'll be, DEAD IN THE DIRT
The guys from BDM are real party aminals
shoutout to dave grohls brother
have you done Moonlight Equilibrium by these guys?
I hope they do. I honestly think Deflorate may be the worst album to react to if you're new to TBDM. It's just a completely unrelenting wall of sound.
I don't think Deflorate has any of the songs I would consider to be my "favorites" ...... I think my top 2 songs are Elder Misanthropy and Closed Casket Requiem
