Şu an İtalya'da Erasmus yapıyorum, bu dersin final sınavına hazırlanıyorum ve dersi veren ismin bir Türk olduğunu görünce çok mutlu oldum, gururlandım.
I just wanted to express my respect for this professor. I mean, the interest he's putting and the energy he invests on giving this lecture is just worthy of admiration. Very few are those who want their students to get actual knowledge and capabilities.
I know this is lecture 1 of many more but this so far seems very accessible. having a passion for your field and a passion for teaching are two very separate motivations and Prof. Mutlu's work seems to have more than enough of both. Thankyou for making this available to everyone!
I’m a junior in highschool and your lectures make more sense than any of my teachers. Thank you for giving us an in depth and free way to consume computing content!
It's truly astonishing that this calibre of teaching is just presented for free in this day and age. SO grateful for this information explained in such a lucid and enthusiastic manner. THANK YOU.
Anyone watching this also go to the course link in the description and then to the readings section. I found some really interesting reading material there.
1:17:45 that's basically the pattern of the stumbling stone. Christ said "The stone the builders rejected (i.e. the exceptions) has become the capstone (i.e. the main paradigm)"
I just finished taking a graduate level computer architecture course from a respected tech institute in the States. It was interesting, but it was also outdated gravely. Somebody in the course reviews recommended these lectures as a better use of time. I am one of those people who cannot dedicate fully without a set schedule and a rigorous testing of knowledge. Would ETH Zurich eventually consider having these lectures in an online format with a certification? (I haven't checked if there is already one or not.)
"I'm not a predictable system at the moment because we were supposed to start at 1412 and now its 1414" typical nerdy joke😀.. anyway big thanks Its great lecture !!

You can study the next Computer Architecture course, which builds on this one. Fall 2021 edition videos are here: ua-cam.com/video/4yfkM_5EFgo/v-deo.html Fall 2021 edition website: safari.ethz.ch/architecture/fall2021/doku.php
If we would rise the price of energy to its true cost, they can't afford wasting all that money just to guess my next pair of sneakers or they have to use efficient machines :)
All on paper, but I'm designing an architecture that is like nothing before! It doesn't even have any cores, and its Physical Threads are unlimited, well every function on the entire hardware has its own Thread, also can be used like a pointer, it doesn't need a clock except for human interactions like audio for example. It doesn't even have an alu, you make your own alu(s) more like Lambda Calculus type of manner. So you want to do 1 million Simultaneous Parallel math calculations, make your function and copy and paste it 1 million times, each one gets its own thread, and you can have them all active at once. I know that sounds like a lie but its not
This guy gave away literally the complete Computer architecture course and materials for free !!,
God Bless technology, God bless people like him.
It's been three years, did the information provided help you at all?

I am a student from India, doing my masters (MTech) in CSE. I am greatful for this course, which presents cutting edge research topics.

World needs more humans like this gentleman
I just found interest in CS due to his presentation and explanation. Though I'm not a CS student. I hope to transit my career in the field..
Thank you for putting these lectures out for free. Really appreciate it.
My god the quality of this course man. Thank you a thousand times.

What a guy, you worked for a bunch of big tech companies, I'm a huge fan. Thanks sir for these very informative lectures!

böyle biri var olduğu için çok mutlu oldum...
Awesome course! I am an undergraduate student from China and found your course is very detailed and excellent.
Anyone watching this also go to the course link in the description and then to the readings section.
I found some really interesting reading material there.
I used to think a researcher with a lot of publications will have little interest in teaching. But now, I know I am very wrong.
the world needs this professor! really enjoy the lectures.
Thank you professor. Hearing these lectures as i study books on the subject. Helps a lot! thank you.
Professor i have no words to say to express my respect towards you.

This is pure gold
This lecture would be oil if it were natural resources.
thank you doctor onur for giving us this course and materials for free god bless you
you are very very far better than gold sir

Are there any lectures for electrical engineers?

is this good for a digital logic design class?
Can anyone guide me what to do after completing these lectures .

When you realise he discussed about Corona virus in "China"
I did not find any prerequisite from course website. My physics is terrible. Do i need a good commanding of physics in this course?
No
xin tang thanks!
For engineering, you only need to know formulas in physics.
You are a legend! (=
electrons in electrical engineering .....holes in electronics/computer domain.
If we would rise the price of energy to its true cost, they can't afford wasting all that money just to guess my next pair of sneakers or they have to use efficient machines :)
That would just make machine developing slower.
Hello, what are prerequisites for this course?
I think some programming experience is required.
Is spector and meldown viruses or malware could somebody explain the differences?
they are the vulnerabilities which a virus or malware can exploit.
Is this a bachelor or a master course?
bachelor I think
Bachelor introduction level.
its a introduction course there is also a advance course in the playlist section
39:32 I say yes.
10:05 now it has become a serious problem lol

you mean like, the one that had been designed by A. Turing? lol
No one knows what an electron is.
