Just stumbled over your series and watched this one... amazing. Been about 10 years since I decided to shut down my old system of Plex, CouchPotato, SABnzb, etc, and all the knowledge was forgotten. About to jump back in with a new QNAP and this series is going to be my gospel on how to set it all up. Thank you!
Absolutely amazing. I already have a Plex+AR system running for the past year but I have learnt SO MUCH from this series that I went back, ripped everything out and started from scratch haha. Thank you!!
Wow, that was a little trickier one. I feel fairly confident, it's just hard to see until things start running. I'm a little confused after doing all the setup, how I use these apps in (with) my Plex app. Right now, my Plex has a few streaming services I subscribe too, when I search for movies or tv shows will Plex now also use Sonarr and Radarr? Thanks! Jason
With plex only if you add it to your watch list will sonarr/radarr add it to be monitored. For now use the search option in sonarr/radarr to monitor media since you will have more options to choose from. You can also use lists from trakt, tmdb, and imdb to import popular, top 250 or personal lists you created
I have two NFS volumes on my Synology device. I've tried connecting them to the dockers but they continue to fail when trying to add them as volumes to the container.
I have problems with plex not being able to find all my audiobooks even though they are in the same sub-directory. Is there anything in your setup that can help me with that? I have no problems with my movies
Hopefuly the nex part is dropping soon. I'm struggling to get things working. When I download files vial Sonaar or Raddar I allway get an error saying his directory does not appear to exist inside the container and the file shows no files found are eligible for import, Hoping your next video will help.
If I may, I just ran accross the same type of issue two days ago. It's probably because the path you set in sabznb doesn't exist in sonarr/prowlarr. (or you have a permission issue, that's easier to fix) I'd advise to re-compare the folders suggested in the Trash guides to what you've set in your containers and ensure you have the right paths, so the Sonarr/Radarr containers can access the path you set in sabznb. (I had to read it two more times before figuring how my folder layout wasn't exactly right)
Hi mate love the videos on how to setup the rr's on Portainer(ubuntu), just wondering if you had any instructions on how to setup recyclarr on Portainer?
Sorry, but a tutorial on recyclarr won't be for a while since I will be prioritizing the basic containers needed to run a bare minimum server first. The installation follows the same principles as the other tutorial I made, mount paths, image link, container name, etc. You can always reach out to me on Discord or via email if you need help. I will be making a config.yml file that will be uploaded to github as well.
i cant seem to figure this out, I have done it all how you say too but when i click to see if there they all say this site cant be reached, I have no Idea what I'm doing wrong I just got my Qnap today and trying to set it all up is getting frustrating to say the least
I am attempting to install radarr but i have a question. How are you able to type in the volume box for the media container? I can label it but it won't let me actually type in the path.
These are great guides. I don't have the exact setup; instead running an external HD via USB I have it mounted and have done everything under the sun that I have found online for permissions, but for some reason, my download client, in this case, nzbget, gives me the error: nzbget.conf(46): Invalid value for option "NzbDir" (/media/username/MediaDrive/nzb): Could not create directory /media/username: Permission denied I cannot beat this error. I can create files and folders in this drive via terminal, etc. The next video may help with these types of errors. Any suggestions I am going bald pulling my hair out? Thanks
That means you skipped some steps when creating directories that I outline in my other tutorials as it's a permissions error. I also never recommended using a /Movie folder as that breaks hardlinking with your download folder. I know the videos are long, but they do cover everything you need to know and prevent errors like this from happening by watching and following everything in its entirety
@@mrbuckwheet Wow brotha, thanks for the quick response, wasn;t really expecting one at all. So I did follow your tutorials step by step, paused, did a step, watch a step, pause, did a step, lol... The difference with my setup is that I already have Plex setup on a Ubuntu box in a VM on a server I run other vm's on. Plex runs flawlessly for me, even outside the network. I was hoping to just add Portainer and, Sonarr and Radarr using your guides to the current Plex VM and leaving Plex alone. So, my Library folder's permission are set plex:plex. Inside my Plex folder I have a Library Folder and then Movies, TV Shows, etc. inside of that. So Radarr and Sonarr are to look outside the container to the main plex directory and monitor its folders I have setup already.
@jeffstoner01 if the owner of the folders are plex then you need to replace the 1000 PUID with the PUID for plex. Alternatively, you can chmod the movie folder to 777.
When clicking on the published port link does the IP address in the new tab match the IP address of Ubuntu? If not in Portainer when on the home tab there is pen icon to edit your main docker environment. Enter Ubuntu's local IP address in the "Public IP" field. Now the links should bring you to the correct address. Make sure your Ubuntu instance has a static IP assigned by your router too. You want that IP address to never change so any connections, bookmarks, and other devices/apps accessing Ubuntu will always be able to find it via that IP address on your local network.
I'm having problems with Prowlarr not connecting to Sonarr and Radarr via API. The connection times out and fails. I have tried regenerating new keys but the problem persists, localhost has also been set the IP of my NAS. Any help would be appreciated!

Love these videos. I have followed along so far and I'm looking forward to part 5.
Keep up the great work! I appreciate it a lot.
Thank you!
Yay! A new video!! I absolutely love this playlist you are creating! I am so excited to see the end result in my homelab! Take care, Jason

Thanks MrBuckwheet! so helpful! learning a ton watching your vids. Looking forward to the next one!
Awesome, thank you!
Been looking forward to a new video, awesome series friend
Glad you enjoy it!
Great video. Thank you so much.
I'm looking forward to how you automate quality import from TRaSH into Radarr, Sonarr using Recyclarr.
Thanks mate, I have been following your guide so far it is really helpful. I was wondering when will be the next part coming ?
Right now! 😊
I have two NFS volumes on my Synology device. I've tried connecting them to the dockers but they continue to fail when trying to add them as volumes to the container.
my NFSv was limited to 3... set to 4. bingo.
Great video... would you be willing to make a video about Trailarr?
Been following along but this part feels rushed and a bit harder to follow along. I can tell you've gone through this process many times haha.

Is the IP of your nas set to be static so it doesn't change? How are you accessing your links?

Select the "Bind" option to enter a path manually

What about this error message? - Unable to add root folder

Haha good deal
