What fascinates me the most about your videos? Your voice! It has such a reassuring and calming effect! You have the voice of authority that is non-judgmental. I liked your tree work too! George
You do talk like a middleschopl teacher or lawyer..there's a tree guy in between are age gap that had the best voice and way of speaking well spoken I've ever heard he does alot of solo work like me can't remember his name i will send it when I do ..stay cool
Zach, you absolutely can handle that mini-ex. I was thinking maybe a piece of plywood against the house and the bucket in case of accidental overswing /overstrike with the bucket but you really handled it well. Noticed also the absence of any reinforcing steel in the concrete slab when you broke it. Interesting. Good job
Thanks Clell! Thays a great idea! I have some old plywood laying around, I'll definitely take that into consideration next time. Yeah, it seems like older concrete around here doesn't have much pencil wire in it. It's even more rare to find full rebar in anything that isn't newer commercial construction. I must say I'm glad there wasn't any steel in there 😅
Cool video, but I'd have liked to see more of the digging out the blockwork an rubble. Seeing your digger lifting those slabs like they were fethers was sweet. I thought you'd have to break them up!! Not so much 😂
Zach, you did an 'alright job' and I am again impressed with your skills and safe manner in the way you operate. Actually, I subscribed a long time ago. I did smash the like button also. Blessings to you.
Cool to see another tree guy who likes doing other landscaping/construction work themselves. Is that your miniex and do you advertise these other services or do people just ask you? Haha just the other day I was topping some huge cedars as well as transporting an old antique automobile for a client
Thanks man! Income diversification has not proven to be the most profitable, but it has been a little more fun 😅 It is! I do a little advertising, but I'm still trying to figure that out. It's a little harder to advertise Excavating services than tree services.
What type of attachment is that? The "gripper"... I am going to start a project that needs a tear down and will have to request if the company has this gripper. I actually wish I could hire you lol
The device opposing the bucket is commonly referred to as a thumb. Most smaller excavators have them these days. Some bigger machines do too. Ah, I'd be happy to help, but I imagine your a little far away. I'm located near Canton, Ohio.
well you shoulda posted this a few days ago so I wouldnt have asked so many questions about loading lol how heavy are those ramps? look heavy buy easy enough to carry, mine are like ~75-80 pounds each and hang on the fenders of my trailer, kinda suck, normally I just slide them in next to my machine
These ones are right around 100lbs and they're a real pain to move around, but they were cheaper than a trailer and I didn't have a CDL when I bought the mini excavator so this was the only way I could move it legally. I'd like to upgrade the situation someday, but this is what I have to work with now. If I don't have to lay the ramps on the ground, they're not too bad to deal with 😊
I hope what they're going to do is an improvement. I don't see anything wrong with that step to get in the front door I guess it's just not good enough for them
@@Zogg1281 . Hmmmmmm I wonder why they couldn't just build the ramp along the side up to that nice concrete solid Landing so secure. I hope he updates us
I'm not really sure why they chose to remove the concrete porch. I was just a subcontractor for a construction company that will be building the new structure there, but I might be able to swing back by and see what they built. A few other houses on the street had nicer looking wood porches and my suspicion is that the home owner wanted to give the front of the house a face lift and just improve the appearance of things. 🤷♂️
Haha good eye! That headset makes such a different in my own productivity. It's got better noise canceling than the smh10 units and I can hold a phone conversation while doing just about anything.

Agreed, I told him that on a couple of occasions.
Thank you man! That's mighty encouraging to hear! Thanks so much for watching and supporting the channel!

Thanks for that feedback! Making excavator videos is a lot different than tree videos and I still have a lot to figure out 😅

Thanks Bill! I remember interacting with you in the comments before. Thank you for all of your support!
Man there were a lot of phone/power wires there! Good job.
Haha thanks! Seems like low data cables have been a struggle lately for whatever reason 😅
Saw the paint lines on the sidewalk u involved in that and the next investment should be a bull pick. ( make demo work alot easier) great video
Thanks for the suggestion! I'm not familiar with a bull pick and I couldn't find anything under that name. Does it go by anything else?
Cool!
thats some crazy slope to go on this truck
Yeah it is a little steeper than I prefer. I just can't get any longer ramps without them sticking out of the back of the truck
Dude what a badass rig! Where did you get those ramps from?
Thanks man! I think it was just discountramps.com if I recall correctly 😅 they weren't cheap, but they were cheaper than a trailer 😂
now that's a set of ramps!
😂

Where's the B reel where you frisbee the largest slab?
Hahahaaaa! I wish I had footage of it. The gopro died right when I did it 😂
How long is your dump bed?
12 feet!

😂😂😂 this street had data wires everywhere, it was a little ridiculous

F800 with a 5.9 cummins 🤙
