यदि आप उचित समझें तो एक सुझाव देना चाहता हूं हर साल कई ऐसी फिल्में होती हैं जो हिट फिल्मों के दायरे के बाहर होते हुए भी चर्चित रहती हैं जैसे 1970 में प्रेम पुजारी,यादगार,मेरा नाम जोकर 1966 दिल ने फिर याद किया,तीसरी कसम 1965 की नई उमर की नई फसल भूत बंगला इत्यादि मेरा सुझाव है कि आप भले ही उन फिल्मों को हिट फ्लाॅप के दायरे में न लायें पर उनका संक्षिप्त परिचय जरुर दें , 9:06 कि फलां साल में ये फिल्म सूची में न होकर भी
चर्चित रहीं थी इससे हमें भी जानकारी मिलेगी कि चाहे कोई फिल्म सूची के बाहर है तो भी उस साल ये चर्चा में रही ।

Rakesh bhai, episode bahoot achcha laga. Some special points and doubts i want to mention.
1. I am surprised not to see Satyakam in top 20. It was a great film by Hrishikesh mukherjee. And Dharmendra gave his careers best performance. Also it had brilliant star cast like Ashok Kumar, Sanjeev Kumar and Sharmila Tagore.
2. Also surprised that Talaash was not a hit. It was a good romantic suspense film and me and my family loved it.
3. If I am right, Was Pyar hi pyar the only film of Vyjayanthimala and Dharmendra?
4. Lot of websites say that Waris was one of the top 10 films and Jigri Dost was in 11 to 20 films of 1969. Can you clear my doubt on that ?
5. This was the year when Rajesh Khanna gained Superstardom and lot of people say that Aradhana film made him à Superstar but when I checked, Aradhana released towards the end of 1969 which means rajesh khanna had already given few hits before that? So which film made him à Superstar (the first hit of his 15 consécutive hits)?

1 satyakam was classic..best of Dharmendra but it was flop....2 and 3 you are right...4 it will give you clear picture in top 10...5 Rajesh Khanna was made super Star by media... aradhana was perhaps in September... please check Rajesh Khanna consecutive hits episode at my channel...

I can’t believe Talaash was flop. Almost every top 20 movie had amazing music and very good stories, great acting and very good direction. 1969 is possibly the best year in the golden era of Bollywood.

i doubt talsh budget is 1 crore may be they did it for publicity purpose as OP Ralhan might had high expectations on the movie also some where I read its budget is only 55 lakhs, also talash collections 1crore is not true , in one of the hindu paper article I am reading its a profit venture , its a hit film although its not a big hit but it had a decent run of 100days. On day of its release itself movie carried hit talk in theaters and ran decently
why these channels always categorizing old movies on some collection reports which does not have much credibility as these movies are very much old and no one can tell the true collections today and mostly in those days also no one would have tracked.
its so funny to see only top hit of the year is being given credit as blockbuster , but truth is in 1950s , 1960s in every year there are atleast 3 to 4 films which were running silver jubilee , golden jubilee. All jubilee movies must be mentioned as blockbusters
and also many 100days ran movies are being mentioned as above avg , semi hit and only few which stood at 5th 6th place as hit . I dont know what is the difference between above avg and semi hit atleast I know the movies which are being mentioned as semi hit were decent hits. there was no such thing called semi hit
also many small budget movies also had a long run although they might not have collections equal to that of big stars movies , one such movie is Parasmani i saw in another channel it is categorized as aboveavg
You have expressed in detail.. great effort..the budget collection etc is taken from internet pages which may not be true i know...my episodes from 1972 to 1977 films are based on trade journals information please check those episodes also...yes you are right o p ralhan promoted talash as 1 cr budget Film which may not be the actual budget.... REGARDING VERDICT...i have told in many episodes about this in detail let me write here for you again... for normal people a Film earning more than its budget is hit film...but in trade verdict is decided by the profit shared by producers with distributors... more profit shared means High verdict less profit means low verdict (if Film is successful) verdict decline according to profit shared blockbuster..super hit..hit..semi hit.. above average.. average...etc..some producers shared more profits with distributors like Raj Kapoor Manoj Kumar...and many others
