I have heard it said "You can never go back home". So true! Born and raised here, yet I would never consider returning. Never regret my child hood but I will never regret leaving. So sad to see such a wasteland. Maybe, just maybe God will bring back glory to this once precious land! It is good that we have the Kingdom of Heaven as our promised home!!! Peace! Yes!
Mike, I can't wait till you get to Detroit, just be careful in those neighborhoods if you drive through them. They have some cool interstates and a bunch of them too. I also wonder will you go through Columbus, Ohio? If not that's ok.
At 3:50 on the railroad bridge, I was able to photograph the BICENTENNIAL locomotive of the Detroit Toledo and Ironton (DT&I) engine # 1776. (A GM GP38-2) The engine was lead engine. 1776 was still painted bicentennial well into the 1980s.
Looks like a pretty western city. Dayton is good for its low crime rate.Peaceful not glamorous which is hard to say.Nice to build a home off the freeway tho..To enjoy the harmony of travel and nature daily.🐎🐎.🐄🐄🐓🐣🐇🐖🐎🐎. Cool pic!
Yeah you can see a lot of the effects of de-industrialization in these cities. The architect and existing infrastructure looks designed for a larger, busier city than it currently is.
The bridge you went under reminds me of the ones over rivergate pkwy.me n my guy have stayed at the 2 motels there.rodeway inn.best value inn.my favorite one.love that stretch.after you get into goodlettsville.love how they got it decorated.really nice.
between google earth and virtual drives, it gives you a good idea on the Grade rating of Traffic, its infrastructure "bridges, roads, side walks, decade of cleanliness of the area and many other aspects. Mike, goto Vancouver BC Canada and watch. Billions pumped in from the Chinese economy look at the age of the buildings. Most old buldings in 2000 have been replaced. Once 45 cranes were over the Vancouver skyline.
Ladies change your locks and get a door bar! I was drugged and raped at night repeatedly. Then some men had the nerve to use my bathroom to clean women up after raping them while I was sleep!
Sinclair College. Quite an active campus, though most foot traffic is in the buildings, the entire campus is accessible via indoor halls under ground and the bridges across the roads. At least prior to COVID.

Fairly lifeless downtown, very little car or foot traffic and looks like many old vacant buildings. Sad because it didn’t used to be this way.

Is the YMCA downtown still open?

I don't think you've ever been... You can't compare Dayton to cities that are much larger than Dayton...
