  • I totally get why people can be sort of yuck on tofu. It can be really tough to nail, and if you don’t know what you’re doing, it can end up a sort of tasteless, gelatinous mess.
    But this crispy, air fryer tofu is one of my favorite recipes. It’s super quick and easy, and goes great in ramen bowls, on top of yakisoba, in spring rolls or on its own.
    It’s also super yummy just dipped in a little sweet chili sauce as a snack.
    Are you a tofu fan? Have you tried air fryer tofu yet?

      Excited to hear how it goes! If you can find the Wildwood brand or one that isn't packed in water, you'll have more luck! Let me know if you have any questions!

      @@alexandrasteinmetz3690 My inexperienced self-grabbed the one in water so I think I'm going to have to let it dry out for a bit. Thank you for the help I appreciate it I'm excited to try something other than meat I'm so sick of meat.

      @@760mom You can still make it work! Wrap in paper towels and put something heavy on top (like a cast iron pan) and get the water out first :)

      @@BrandiHoferStudios I love your heart. Thank you:). That's exactly what I'm doing. I stacked a deep skillet and tortilla skillet and boom, down came the tower😆. My tile is A LOT stronger than I thought 🤣. Lesson learned.

      @@BrandiHoferStudios So much moisture came out of my tofu I left it in the fridge with a cast iron on top and I swear I got about 3 oz of liquid out. It's not bad for my first attempt. I used Irish moss instead of corn starch and I think for my taste I added too much cayenne but otherwise dipped in teriyaki sauce it's edible 🤣. Try try again. Thanks for the encouragement 😊

      It's just sweet chili sauce that you can find in any asian market or in your grocery store. Enjoy!

    Looks good...but are you using an oven instead? Air Fryer's don't go close to 400 degrees (Celsius).

      My degrees are in fahrenheit, so it would be 205 Celsius, hope that helps!

      Are you buying water packed tofu (I avoid this). If so are you pressing the water out of your tofu by weighing it down for an extended period of time?

      That’s because you’re not going to learn a whole recipe like this in a 30 second video they don’t explain how much of each they’re using they don’t tell you if it’s firm or anything hell I’ve never even seen a tofu block that big in the store but yeah when they make videos don’t give you no instructions whatever they say is salt pepper this that how long did you cook it forput some instructions in the description like every other place does unless you’re just too lazy to type or even voice type

    • @tase8723
      @tase8723 6 місяців тому

      @@Paul-ng4jxNone of that was missing from the video though. They said what kind of tofu they were using, we can see they used the whole block, and they also explained what temp to cook it at and for how long. All the information needed was there.
