The Buzzworthy Bumblebee line is Target exclusive in the US. Oddly the older Kup was still shelfwarming and there were several of both versions of the figure at Target when I bought my Buzzworthy version, including a "swapped" version of the older Kup in Buzzworthy packaging... Some people are scum...
Honestly, I don't believe a word of the whole "do-over" story. It's not because these people are "reaching out" to fans that they aren't talking the talk. This is obviously marketing strategy by Hasbro: Sell them the okay version first. Sell them the "improved" version later. They've done it before and they'll do it again. I'd symphatize with the story of the guy being overwhelmed with work. Heck, I've been overwhelmed with all the bullshit at work since the lockdowns ended and the post-covid lemon-squeezing started. But come on... We know this isn't the first time they pulled this shit. However, I don't agree with the way you seem to expect understaffed and burned out people in neo-liberal businesses which don't care about providing a service and who get their profit from saving on everything to burn themselves out further in order to "do their job". I don't generally symphatize with people who work in the entertainment industry, but I'd symphatize with this designer's story... If I believed that's what really happened.
Considering how little time and effort it took to determine Kup's proper colour scheme, i'm not ready to let this professional designer off the hook, but i agree the business practices are ultimately Hasbro's responsibility and the buck stops with them. When they are raking in record profits and raising prices, there is no excuse for lack of manpower and quality to slip. Next time they can hire me and i'll knock the design out better and cheaper 😁

I think the head sculpt looks uncanny tbh I'll stick with my IDW inspired one from Gen.
