  • Weathering the interior of the Tamiya Mini Cooper 1275S is what this vlog is all about. And I’ll make a new gear lever, make a nice dusty dashboard, practice fake chipping, add self designed 3D objects and weather with oils and pigments!
    Haven't seen the previous vids about the Mini? Check this!

    Again great tips Robby. I'll need to watch your videos a few times before i do another salvage and/or abandoned car. Excellent tutorials.

    I've just recently decided to renew my hobby skill of scale model building and discovered Hobby Robby!
    Now, I know this is an older vlog and the "contest" is closed, but I wanted to add....
    I once acquired a Volvo 244DL with a sign in the rear window that read
    "I'd rather push my Volvo than drive a Honda"
    😅😂😅😊😅😂
    I'm sure this would make a great bumper sticker, adjusted, of course, to reflect whichever brands are necessary.....
    Thx!

    Just found this channel after doing research on how to weather models. I'm building a 1976 Chevy Stepside Pickup that I want to be an old beat up farm truck. I never thought to use punches and real leaves! I'm going to have to fill the bed of the truck with those, some twigs, and some pine straw!

    This reminds me very much of some of my a few of my friends cars I used to bum rides to get the Grateful Dead shows in the mid to late 80s.
    A Grateful Dead sticker would look perfectly in place.

    Great model I would print a stick on Garfield seeing that you have a resin printer, just to add a bit of humour to the build..

    Thanks for this great and inspiring content! This series is just the content I need for next builds with weathering techniques. Removing mould lines with Tamiya thin cement just brilliant (1:09). Fake chipping also is a good resource instead chipping medium (5:32). Just in love of book detail (9:20). Patience is the mother of the Science (12:31 & 14:39) 😁 Late but sticker: Baby on board

    That was a lot coming together in this one. Might be the best episode so far! Looked like you had more fun too. Liked the 'mindful' comment for detail work that would freak me out 😁 Again loved the motivation behind some choices for attributes. The actual leaves are simple but so cool - "goed gereedschap is het halve werk", zo niet het hele. I do like shortcuts - pun not intended ;)
    As for a sticker? The Aardman logo perhaps? They build lots of tiny things. They had a huge amount of those on display at Forum's Story World recently - you can borrow the accompanying book, if you like. Their short film 'Adam' from 1992 had several nominations so it kind of fits with the time.

    For the knob: put it into another pinvise, tighten, then you can drill?

    • @hobbyrobby
      @hobbyrobby  2 роки тому

      That’s probably a quicker method, is it as a lathe 👍

    • @jaanikaapa6925
      @jaanikaapa6925 2 роки тому +1

      @@hobbyrobby Yes. You can also use a Dremeltype thing as a lathe. Kenji's and A4 (Japanese modeling YT channels do a lot of modifying and scratch building. Their stuff are like jewellery. Working lock on the mini's boot, for example. Huge amounts of modeling hacks there. Another great one is Ebroin if you ever wish to venture out to ships or sculpting.

      @hobbyrobby  2 роки тому

      @@jaanikaapa6925 I know A4 Garage (Korean) and Nandemo Seisaku (Japanese). They do a very engineering like modelling. Very nice, but not my style (honestly I couldn’t do what they do). My style is more to tell a story with my models 😊
