  • When it comes to bass fishing, the toughest part for most anglers is not knowing what to throw or when to throw it. But, know why is what makes you much more effective at selecting the right lure at the right time.

I'm so glad you mentioned the soluner tables. I used to go by it a lot but over the years I have gotten away from using them. I'm excited to start using them again and will also start a keeping a log. Thanks for severing our country and for all the tips on kayak fishing.

I’m a believer in solar lunar. As a kid, 6 to 8 years old I was a shrimp boat deckhand off the Texas coast for my dad and grandpa. Solar lunar, barometric pressure, wind and direction all of those factors were critical to success and constantly monitored and discussed. Watching the moon was as important as the sun.

Chad I have been a sceptic myself about this.so for the last two months I've been tracking on and off peak times and logging everything including weather associated with it and I have become a believer in it myself. Great video man!

I've been having great success with a swim jig over the past few years. It's versatility is the reason, you can change up your presentation with it and cater to the mood of the fish.

    Chad two parter:
1-which lunar phase app do you use and
2-I live near our church and want to know where is the best area to fish around here for say a 2-3 hour period close to home
    Thank you

    Chad,
I tried your tips today and it worked. I only caught 1 Bass, but had reactions from others so I know it would have worked if I had had more time to fish through the peak time period today. The Bass I caught was my PB too. Although tiny compared to your average, I was ecstatic with my catch. I'm middle aged and learning to fish, so today was wonderful. Thank you Chad for allowing me to possess this knowledge by creating and posting these types of videos. I really appreciate it a whole bunch. Caught it from shore out on Percy Priest. :-)

There's definitely good advice here. I definitely know that getting hung up on lures that work can kill your chances. For example, on a cooler summer evening after a long heat wave, a spinnerbait or crankbait can absolutely kill it! When they will hit those moving baits, it's the greatest thing ever!

Always appreciate your insight thanks for the reinforcing SWATT, ans So-lunar it makes all the difference. Chad, thank you for this video, I love content like this. It's fun to see videos of people on the water catching fish after fish, but after a while that gets old because it doesn't reflect the real experience of fishing. Videos like this one actually help me to target fish and get closer to understanding why I caught a fish instead of feeling lucky when I get one.

I’ve just found your videos and I truly do like this type of video. Your concept is right on. It’s better to explain these ideas off the lake because not only is it easier for you to discuss it, but it is easier for us to pay attention to what you’re saying . Otherwise we’re only paying half the attention because we are consumed with what type of action is physically happening. thank you very much keep them coming

Great job, I just fished a tournament this past Saturday and did not do too well. The guys that finished on top caught them using a few techniques that all crossed my mind when i was out there but because I dont like those techniques, I opted into ignoring them and have learned from that. Watching this just reminded me again how I need to open up to other techniques whether I like them or not. Great thing about having a bad tournament is you learn so much more from that and will utilize my experience, go forward to making better decisions.

Great video, Chad! You may have just explained why I seem to not do as well in the middle of the feeding window. I always seem have better luck just before and at the beginning of the Solunar period (as well as at the end and just after). During the solunar peak period I usually keep on using slow moving presentations (soft plastics), whereas in the middle of the active period I should be switching to power fishing techniques. Can't wait to try that next year!
