We visited this place last summer, and it was an absolute bliss! Jody is very nice, and it was fun to see how she created a flower arrangement using flowers cut from the garden. Those lavender lattes, ice-cream and scones were delitious, and the place so peaceful, we didn't want to leave! This reminds me that we need to visit again this summer! Thank you for the video!
Oh the wonder of zone 8b - looking it up was fun too. (5b me) I love the wide generous plantings - and the crunch of the pea gravel. Warmest thoughts Jennie
Beautiful garden! Inspired me to go and take cuttings of my lavender for more next year. Such an easy plant, and gives everything: scent, food, flowers.
@@cherylpereira-hodges8961 Hi Cheryl, I take cuttings in early summer, before the flowers appear. Put them in well-drained compost having taken the lowest leaves off. This site covers hardwood cuttings as well, but I haven't used this method before www.gardeningknowhow.com/edible/herbs/lavender/rooting-lavender-cuttings.htm
Wow! What a beautiful destination. What lovely gardens she’s created. I realize UA-cam is not your primary income stream and, granted, I watched this video while on the treadmill, but I would encourage you to buy a couple of microphones. 😜
Enjoyed watching the garden. I have a couple of questions...my lavender is in full flower now; do I cut it and how much do I cut? It looks so pretty in the garden. I also want to plant some in the front garden strip; can I just take a cutting and how? Thanks.
Hi Cheryl. You can cut now or wait, depending on how you want to enjoy it. An earlier cut gives some chance for second flush of flowers later in the season. Here's how to take cuttings: ua-cam.com/video/ZskIUlUxbU0/v-deo.html
Hi , I know you sent me a link to a u tube to take cuttings from the lavender...can't seem to find it. Can you please send me again? I also have another question . My friend is trying to give ma a cutting or make a graft of the jasmine.. Not the climbing, starry tiny flowers but the plant with the bigger ones that look like small roses. He hasnt succeeded but I so want that plant...memories of my grandpa and I. Can you please tell us how to do it. Will it survive in the garden outdoors here in Ontario?
@@FraserValleyRoseFarm Your videos are fantastic in content but your camera makes me feel sick! have you tried a new gopro? That would make your videos much better!
Fraser Valley Rose Farm it was spring but I live in a secluded area which is very damp during winter so I don’t think it recovered. Thank you for asking. I’ll try again
Hi Ethan. I find it really easy in potting soil: ua-cam.com/video/ZskIUlUxbU0/v-deo.html And that way, there's no "transition" later from water to soil.
What kind of temperature range do you get where you live? I'm in Wisconsin and have debated about whether to leave Lavender outside over winter. We are about the middle of the State north to south and zone 4.
Hi Stan. We're a pretty solid zone 8 on the west coast. Munstead and Hidcote are marginal at zone 4 - but I wonder if a little shelter from cold winds would help?

Happy to hear it. Yes, they do a great job, and I'm looking forward to all of their future plans.
Thank you Jason for taking us along!
My pleasure Kathy. Sorry for the shaky hands and spotty audio, but I thought it was worth a look nonetheless.
What a lovely property and who doesn't LOVE Lavender!

My mom lives in Abbotsford. I'll have to go visit these lovely gardens!
Thanks. Yes, well worth a visit!

How do you take cuttings from the lavender?

Lovely and interesting ! Thanks for the tour. Watching from San Francisco.
I spray baking soda and water on the roses right after a rain and also on the soil around it which is where the black spot spires are.
Interesting - and you've had good results I suppose (otherwise you wouldn't have mentioned it!)
I would love to visit this garden sometime. I do have many types of lavender. Hidcote, English, French, a white one and a yellow French one.
Thanks Diane. I'm getting my hands on a new English variety this year 'Annet' I'm excited to see how it compares!
Spectacular! Thanks for sharing :)

Thanks Rebecca. Yes, I was underprepared for that tour, and just shot it with what I had on hand. I've learned my lesson (I hope!)
Great video

I would LOVE to see that Echinacea in bloom!!!
Me too. What a massive planting!
Loved it!! Thank you!!

This is such a nice garden but the camera was moving and zooming in and out so fast. It’s hard to watch without feeling dizzy.
Sorry about that. I'll have to see about getting a stabilizer for next time I do handheld footage.

I hope you can get a stabilizer for your camera. It's beautiful but extremely shaky. 😇
Sorry about that Jesse. Normally I use a tripod for my vids, but if I do more handheld footage, I'd better upgrade.
my dream is to visit a lavender farm, and your farm.
I love lavender reminds me of my grandmother, I had some but they turned black 😢

Which is more effective propagating lavender in water or soil ?

What's the name of that lovely, yellow-green grass that was growing by the rose?
I think it was Japanese forest grass.
Yep. Hakonechloa

What is the timing of planting lavender mind
I think planting is best in early spring. It gives the young roots enough time to spread out before the heat and dryness of summer.
@@FraserValleyRoseFarm Thank you very much, dear brother
