    We have a Halo 5 and it’s been 2 years, we are starting to notice limescale building up on our fixtures. I called Halo and the rep asked what type of water heater do I have and if I have a recirculating line for the hot water. I have tankless and recirculating line. They recommend that I get a Ion 6 installed to the recirculating line bc the hot water that is sitting there unused is the cause of limescale buildup, is that correct? If so, where should I be installing the ion 6? It’s starting to get expensive.

      In our experience the HALO 5 is GREAT for cleaning the water, but not good for dealing with hard water.
      Are you drinking the water that halo 5 puts out? What type of water pipes do you have? ( Pex ? Copper? Etc)

    Not for wells! My plumber recommended this… does not prevent calcium buildup.. theres less if i just use raw water…And the guy I talked to at Hallo was a jerk..2 thumbs down…. Now I have to buy a water softener to treat the water coming out of the Halo….

      I have the same issue. We have very hard well water . We're in the TX Hill Country. This was recommended by a plumber. They tested my water hardness and it was apparently off the charts. They did not test it after installation. Imagine that. I too am considering a water softener. Not sure if this Halo 5 is doing me any good at all. Good luck.

    Sounds good so far, clearly a lot of progress since the open beta. I have a few concerns though.
    Where is the BR?
    Will the built in hard water conditioning prevent and remove flood spores from the UNSC ships?
    And most importantly, does the 10 year warranty cover cataclysmic outer colony slip space anomalies?

    halo 5 came out in 2013? I guess 343 is releasing halo 5 part 2 this year.

    Our home was built in 2013, and we've had this installed since built. I honestly was never that impressed with this Halo 5 system. When you test the water with a TDS (total dissolved solids) meter, it tests around 250 to 300 or more! There's calcium buildup on all our bathroom fixtures. Likewise, we just renovated the 3 bathrooms in our home. Only a few weeks after installing new toilets, there's already a calcium ring that forms at the water line. Our ice is not 'pure' looking or tasting. We buy bottled water using a 5 gallon bottle water dispenser for drinking water. This Halo system is just not that great....in my opinion.

      GREAT INFO & FEEDBACK!

      I don't know anything about the Halo 5 but I can tell you based on the specs it isn't actually a softener therefore the TDS levels will not significantly if any change. It uses a saltless conditioning concept that just makes the solids inert in a simplistic explanation. If you research you will find lots of info & become more confused probably.
      I'm looking for a new system myself & may just go with what I had before a eagle by crystal quest.

    But there's no information on what it filters out. Fluoride is a very small molecule that I've read cannot be filtered out.... but that is exactly what I want taken out. After all, clean water is more for MY health... not for the health of the water heaters.

    • @TwinHomeExperts
      @TwinHomeExperts  9 років тому

      +Hi Letta Mego ,yes ,your right ,this system is NOT going to remove fluoride . This system will remove the chlorine,, other chemicals, rust , particles,
      Our professional opinion is to install a whole house water filtration to take out most of the contaminates out of the water ,this makes a huge difference for bathing in clean water ,but then the added benefit, is it does protect your overall plumbing system . Then you ADD a RO system at the kitchen sink for the purest drinking water ,this will remove fluoride and everything else you dont want to put in your body.
      hopefully this helped you . Thank you for your post !

    • @annberry8149
      @annberry8149 9 років тому +1

      Thank you. Trouble is, fluoride is readily absorbed through the skin and lungs so it's even worse to bath in it than to drink it.
      I've discovered that the state I'm in claims their fluoridation machine broke down and they can't afford a new one... ha ha... they wouldn't want to offend the corporations that want to get rid of their toxic waste through our water system.

    I just purchased the Halo 5 Deluxe. Had it installed in my garage. Had a 6 stage Pelican reverse osmosis systems for cooking and drinking. I was about to install a water softener, But didn't want all the negative side effects of salt. I have a whole house pre-filter installed before any water enters the Halo 5, then it goes into my Nuvo Citrus water softener, then into my house. I bought this system to extend the life of my Rinnai tankless water heater

    I had a Halo 5 water system installed in 2011 and as of today the 15th of Sep 2014, we have the lime/calcium or whatever you call the white scale stuff that forms on faucets etc the same as if no system was installed at all. ;-( The water sometimes has a bad odor coming out of the faucet and the taste is horrible compared to an RO system.

    • @u.h.d.4580

      +Lacy Croft That is argonite, it is made of calcium and magnesium and is actually a sign the system is working. It also coats the interior surface of your water heater and prevents corosion. The odor could be biological matter stuck in your Ptrap releasing methane...think of this as a small compost heap in your P traps. The way to test this is to pour a glass of water and walk away and smell the water. If there is no smell this is your problem, if it smells it is your plumbing system and is called Back Flow. This would have nothing to do with a Halo 5 attatched to your supply line.I would call a plumber and have them come out and inspect your lines, maybe also do a sewer line video inspection.

    Halo's customer service is horrific ... the Twin Home Experts are wrong when they say Halo's customer service response is quick. That is not true at all. I can't get anyone from Halo to return my phone calls at all. "Great customer service" is simply not true and The Twin Home Experts should not be touting this in their video. I have tried numerous times to get help with my system ... company direct .. and no one at Halo has bothered to return my phone calls nor messages I've left with their "after hours Service Team."

      @@TwinHomeExperts Hey guys ... I've got an E2 message on the front panel that won't go away. I've unplugged the unit, replugged it back in and still an E2 message. I don't believe it is currently self-regenerating and I've had zero luck with Halo Systems to call me back after multiple attempts.
