Thanks for everyone's kind words and support of Mim Yaj. She is a niece from a sister in law of mine. Thanks for posting this up too. Those that don't know, the fact is that Mim only had less than a week to prepare for the pageant. When she had wanted to compete in Nov, she was denied for bogus reasons and told if she wins, the locals wouldn't b happy about it. So then she was sad she wasn't going to be able to compete but a few days b4 the new year started, she got called to join the pageant becuz they were short girls and a few girls backed out. She agreed to compete to help the pageant go on otherwise the pageant couldn't continue with only 4 girls. She studied all night long memorizing her speeches and working on this outfit. She's the hardest worker and so very talented. She wanted to let ppl know she represents our original Hmong ppl from China and that we r all from one family and ancestors. She clearly stood out from all the other girls although each was beautiful and talented in their own ways. Mim did great but we know there was some cheating involved. We asked to see all the girls scores and was refused. We asked many ppl for days after and was given poor excuses and told we can only see her scores but not the other girls. Going back on what the ppl that had denied her to compete the first time had said, that's probably the reason y they didn't let Mim win. These ppl used her to help get their pageant going and in the end tossed her to 3rd place cuz they knew if she didn't land in top 3, they would have issues to deal with. Btw, the MC's messed up and said she wants to b a singer in the future as her goal but the real announcement they were supposed to say was that she "is" a singer. It took 2 freaken days for them to get that changed after we asked many times. Maybe it was meant to make her look like an idiot? Idk but it shouldn't have taken 2 days of the competition for them to change that intro of Mim. In our hearts, Mim Yaj is our #1 and should have won. This is only her 2nd competition unlike other girls whose competed in every pageant in California and has competed many times. Mim came to this pageant with little experience and the least experience but walked away as our #1. She is modest and says she's content with 3rd place. Mim wants to thank everyone for your support of her, her music and your kind words. She is now back in China and will visit again soon.We love her and thank u all for your continuous support.
I really liked her platform speech about clean water for her village. Few people know the problems affecting areas in China due to the pollution from industrial factories. Her speech was heartfelt, and she spoke about an issue affecting her community. It gives many people an opportunity to see the struggles of others, and the things that we take for granted here in America. She did a fantastic job, and her energy was refreshing! She had the best outfits, and evening gown!
Rose Xyoo,,,i know clearly why she didn't win....my uncles was one of the judges...i asked him why mim yaj didn't win??? he's reply was ''' she didn't win ,cuz the hmong pageant organization feels she wouldn't be able to help promote the organization and she's only a stand by to fulfill the pageant...mim yaj got ripped of big time in our horrific hmong cheating scandal as always...she has beauty beyond any of those other pageant contestant, skills, identity,and a pure speech, unlike the fake ass hmong contestant...so sad people are so fuckin corrupt n biased...they need to get judges that are truly qualified to know beauty,talent and speech..the winner is one of their family members that quite sad,,,why is hmong so corrupt??? MONEY!!!!!!!!!!!!....
Mee Yang is amazingly beautiful and talented! Nothing fake about her! She is as real as real can be! Please support her and help her with her well project for the poor Hmong families in Paj Tawg Lag (Wenshan Yunnan).

I know these lost their confidence in Mim yaj when they heard that she wanted to become a popular singer. And has no other goals. We need to listen to her interviews when she was in Sacramento, ca. Mim clearly stated that it's very expensive to get an education in china. Only the wealthy can get the right education. Am sure she will return home and become even more famous, not only singer but education too.
Come on. Look at all the Hmong singers *cough-choke* from/in Laos/Thailand. Hmong-USA practically worship these 3-world "American Idol" wanna-bees. So basically you, and the judges, are hypocrites for "criticizing" her aspiration to become a "singer" -- not to mention all the US-Hmong wanna-bees too.
Mim is very pretty. Winning the top prize not only based on look but intellectual ideas and performances. What made her not able to win first is her choice of words, her responses and informative speeches. She did okay but Teng and Wendy delivered better.
agree these pageant and Hmong new year org are lost beyond repair, look at the 2 current so called Hmong org. fighting for 2 different spot for a Hmong new year. Sometime I question myself if Hmong people actually should deserved a country.
It's unbelievable how she didn't win. She out beat the other contestants by far. These judges must be blinded by her talent. These judges just have to give it to the locals. Only five competing and she still could not win. What was her flaws? I am super disappointed that she did not win.

It didn't how many judges to judge this event. These judges are fraud and didn't judge correctly. Compared her to the other four contestants, Mim yaj was by far better then them. How sad that they gave it to the locals just because her father was a doctor.
