Almost all productions I’ve seen actually pulls out a poster of Jeff Blim in one form or another, so I guess it’s either a voluntary thing or part of the script
@@sugarm1860 I just imagined it being part of the script. I imagined Jeff writing in "Feel free to use this script as long as you pull out a poster of my face during the show"
Im happy that there are people other than the starkids performing their musicals, I want this to be a regular thing from people so kiddos out of the country could watch it live :)
@@flamestar4568Well, that's the censored version that Starkid themselves wrote for licensing. They also wrote one for TTO, but these people are doing the adult version.
I'm guessing he was worried the "I look like Jeff Blim" joke that came later wouldn't work as well or would be confusing. Or he already got that name in a show before.
How am i only finding this now? I can't pick a favourite part, how the father actually kinda looks like jeff blim, the son trying to eat the ox skin, and the wonderful vocals from everybody??
Aw, it sucks that some of the jokes weren't heard because the music was too loud. I really wanted to see people's reactions to the cock-a-doodle-doo joke.
2019: no she doesnt want this... 2020: OOOOOOO let's put this in her recommended now Seriously, how am I just now finding this Also let me add that the mothers voice is amazing
This is actually kind of really good??? Like??? Just a little hard to hear, it was a little hard to hear the Mother's name, but maybe it's just me and my tired brain not being able to recognize words
This is really good. Like most productions I see of StarKid shows could use a lot of improvement but you guys are really talented, and this is extremely well done.
i was about to be like "hey, starkid puts all of their musicals including tto on youtube so you should probably take this down" and then i realized it's a smaller theatre group! i love this!
I really want to do this with my friends but 1. Quarantine 2. None of them know Starkid other than one who introduced me but I don't think she'd want to lol
Yes they do sell the rights to some of there musicals I believe there was also an off west-end production of the trail to Oregon. They just can't give people the rights to plays like AVPM for copyright reasons.
Hi! If you wouldn’t mind answering a question I have I would appreciate it. I work with a theater group and we just bought the rights to the all-ages (PG-13) version of this show, but there were no karaoke tracks included. (only sheet music). Did you buy the Original version? In that case we might just have to sacrifice family-friendliness to be able to perform! Thank you!
@@stellaj3180 Hey there! I'd suggest shooting em an email about them - they were included within the package when we got the rights but they'd likely give you more info on that!
I mean, they're really good singers but they kind of lack that kick of "something" of emotion? Of chaotic energy?? I guess idk... like I feel that this production was soft...?? Like some times don't have comedic timing but anyway, still a pretty good productiod!!!
The spoken lines. I wouldn't even say they lack energy, as a portrayal that is less chaotic and exaggerated as Starkid would still work just as well. The problem is that they seem rushed and scripted.
If you want their rehearsal called Gone to Oregon(gone wrong) it's chaotic in general and then the editing makes it even more chaotic. It's form the same cast.
From the getgo they don’t seem enthusiastic. For example, in the original, the parents still put on happy faces in front of their children when they were getting weird names. Here everybody seems so defeated with every comedic line.
has amazing energy so far! only critiques atm would be some slightly off harmonies from the daughter (i think?) not sure if that was a personal choice or she was directed to do that? idk, otherwise she sounds great. it might just be that i'm used to starkid's harmonies, aha.
damn poor ruth, is it really that hard to come up with something stupid on the spot? all they had to do was combine curse words or name her after an object or animal and it still would've been funny
I’m really sorry but maybe this will change, I’m only six minutes in, but the person playing grandpa just isn’t doing it for me, she seems like she doesn’t want to be there. Like all her lines are delivered like she is tired or bored, Grandpa is supposed to be a chaotic lively character. Which means enthusiasm and excitement. Yes he is old but in a way that say I might die tomorrow so might as well say what I want because no consequences if dead
Sodium Bicarbonate shes actually my favorite! every actor makes different choices and interprets characters differently. her interpretation is what made me fall in love with her. I can also understand if she made these choices to not be a copycat, but if you fell in love with starkids production, I can see how this can turn you off a bit
We almost got a version of TTO where the father's name is Jeff Blim
There’s a show were they named either the son or the grandpa Jeff Blim
But we DID get Blazing Saddles, a classic from Mel Brooks. Sure, it isn't AS good, but it's a strong second.
they shouldve just named the daughter jeff blim instead of ruth
Father: Blazing Saddles
Mother: Hotdog water
Brother: Upchuck
Sister: Ruth
Grandpa: Grandpa Overalls
The son's name is Upchuck.
@@maskedsinger8337 Hey, thanks for telling me. Didn't hear the first part.

You're welcome! I just knew that because the daughter complained how he got a creative name so I knew it wasn't just Chuck.
I thought I heard Porkchop for the son. 🤣
I thought the daughter's name was Bruce. I guess I misheard

Fritz Monorail I think they can- I heard my school did a production of it a few years back
