One of the best changes was Dahlia. She's sweet and funny and a bit clueless, which makes her all the more lovable.
Thats anothern easter egg.They took many of Jasmine's original characteristics and made Dalia.
Think about it. She is charming and a bit naive. She has no interest in living in the palace, she simply wants to escape, travel the world, and marry for love.
Dalia is the original Jasmine, who is released to allow for the new and modern Jasmine.

Honestly I was super surprised how much I loved this movie. I actually liked Will Smith as the Genie.

It kind of lacked "energy" in the songs, so flair-wise, not so much. But, it was good enough I guess.
Rob Sanchez I noticed that, it’s not perfect by any means. The only thing that super bothers me is the speechless song by Naomi, i always think new songs are unnecessary and in this particular movie ruins the tension especially in her final part of singing

How can you compare a voice acting to a whole acting? They are different. So he may be the voice forever but not the whole character.
@@Gaby-om5rd you do know even voice acting needs some real acting to further get yourself into the character? and the fact that most of genie's scenes are cgi anyway that doesnt really change much. the only difference here is one has the looks and one does not. thats why most live action adapted movies dont use original voice actors. however when they do have the looks they would absolutely use the original voice actor
Gaby Valerin you are aware the genie was literally specifically written for robin and how most of his lines are improvised and that you could make a whole other 2 movies with the 14-23 hours of improvised dialogue from him right?

they both did great performances and in this case it is comparable.

Critics said Will put a very "fresh prince" spin on the Genie and I can absolutely see it, especially in the scene where Aladdin as the Prince awkwardly (REALLY AWKWARDLY) introduces himself to Jasmine. That had a "fresh prince" vibe written all over it.
There's only two things that I really missed in the film, and both is about Jafar.
1) His Prince Ali Song
2) His Snake Form.

The theater room I went to to watch this movie got a bunch of little kids and they kept talking and asking throughout the movie, and some dumb idiots in the front row used their phones while people are watching. There were a guy sits next to me and he smelled like an alcoholic hillbilly.

Me too! I watched it with my daughter (4 years old) and i liked it so much I went to see it again by myself.
I will probably see it a third time but will have to see if any of my friends want to go.
Also, Will Smith did such an amazing job in making the character his own without overshadowing or trying to out-do Robin William’s original character.
mena sounds EXACTLY like the orginal aladdin

I love both. A shot for shot remake would of taken away the charm of the animated movie so I’m glad they stayed away from that. I also like how they updated the story to fit modern times. I know over the years and be of the biggest complaint was the princesses in the older Disney movies were just there. So I’m glad to see jasmine shine. Bravo Disney for a fantastic live action movie.

I just saw the movie this Friday and i was surprised how much i liked it. I didn't think Disney could improve on the beloved story, but i was wrong. I especially liked how Disney moved the story to allow Jasmine to become Sultan.
@@shane55pwnt It certainly didn't come out of nowhere, it was set up throughout the whole film. Plus she sang the first part of the song earlier in the film. And if you don't think this Jasmine was different, well I don't know what film you were watching....
The biggest crime is making Jafar young and hot because my favorite animated scene got cut. “The princess will marry me.”

Absolutely loved the live action! Yes, they did change things from the original but it only made the plot stronger and the characters/story all the more magical. The cast did an incredible job and brought so much to movie in their own way while maintaining respect for the original (i.e; Will Smith recognising the shoes he had to fill)! It was wonderfully done and I would 100% recommend it and watch again!

I have seen both of the Aladdin Movies. Although I love the original film, the new movie gives us more background and an exciting twist to the classic songs while keeping to the basics of it. The actors and actresses did an amazing job on bringing their characters to life. I vote 2019 Aladdin.
They forgot all about Jafar’s little beard! That was his iconic feature...! But I absolutely LOVED the new movie(live action) the original was good,but the new one was just so beautiful!

I love the live action better, especially the scene when Prince Ali arrives at the Palace. It was so lively and festive compared to the original animation but I still love the animation since childhood 😘❤️

The fact that the remake didn’t try to copy the original shot for shot made the remake better than it could’ve been.
I also really enjoyed live action Jafar’s calm approach to the character. There’s no way anyone can pull off animated Jafar’s insanity, and he was portrayed excellently.
Now I'm starting to wonder if Jasmine just married Aladdin because he's the only person who'd give her complete rule over the kingdom.

The actors did such good job on their roles, i don't know how a lot of people hate it just by seeing the thrailer. They definitely judged the book by it's cover, well in this case it was the thrailer. But i still loved it. for me Mena is the best aladdin they could have found.

Critics are usually really hard on things that get really popular because unfortunately there is an idea that its "cool" to hate popular things
Movie critics normally don’t know sh**t about anything. I never take into consideration anything that comes out of Rotten Tomatoes and sites like that.
I can’t speak for all critics because like all things it’s subjective. I will say this though; the speechless number ‘should’ve been better’
It was a song that was beautiful and big but where does it take place? In an empty throne room in her mind. It’s like if Elsa sang let it go; but instead of creating a giant ice castle, she just sings on a mountain like a looney person.
The song felt big, it sounded big, why wasn’t it big in the movie? Good song and talent, poor execution.
I really liked the new Aladdin! You can tell Will gave his all!💕

I really enjoyed this adaption of the animated film. I was pretty impressed with Will Smiths take on the Genie and enjoyed it a lot. Although there were a few distractions that were unnecessary. Firstly, Jafar (Marwan Kenzari) was the absolute wrong choice in casting. He was bland and one dimensional and had high tone voice. Not at all menacing or evil. Hakim (Numan Acar) would have made a way better Jafar. The American accents werent even tried to be hidden or modified. The Sultan (Navid Nagahban), wasn't comical as his counterpart but I understand this change. Other than these it's a fun film

Thoroughly enjoyed the film, and Aladdin is my all time favourite. Only two things that I was dissatisfied with ....
1. Dalia looked more like the animated Jasmine than Jasmine did.
2. The magic carpet's personality wasnt used enough. In the animation he's really lively and funny. Especially when he sneaks up on Abu in the cave.
(Jafar didnt look wicked enough even though he was a great actor )
