This song is just too wonderful for words. A Swedish group, singing a song about a war in Mexico and the US across the Rio Grande! The friendship that bound them through the years. Fighting for liberty.
ABBA - best band ever. Check in Eagle (long version) or The Name Of The Game from ABBA - The Album. Two excellent songs in other kind of melodies than the one you have heard now.
One of their many original world hits. No band is so versatile! Dance rock ballads they can do it all and they are the greatist doing it. I think they could have 60+ hits if they only had made singles of most of their album tracks
great reaction thanks. one of my favourite Abba songs. must have heard this thousands of times over the years and it just doesn't get old. think people will be listening to Abba many years from now
Hello again, dear friend Happy to see you following the single Fernando "Fernando" (1976) is slowly, and beautiful The best is the beauty of their vocal harmonies, with great solo intro by the brunette singer Frida, very soft at the whisper level but at a level of perfection, with Agnetha join in the test of the song and gives a fantástic harmonies, with exploted in a powerful chorus ABBA had already recorded "Dancing Queen" and it came from the success of "Mamma Mía" It was their manager who convinced Them to record "Fernando" so as not to repeat the style (the brunette singer Frida had done it the year before on her solo album in Swedish, with other lyrics, and it was a big success in Sweden) The manager was right and everything was a great success, one after another in 1976, that gives ABBA three #1 consecutives in UK: Mamma Mía (2 weeks) Fernando (4 weeks) Dancing Queen (6 weeks) "Fernando" was a colossal success in Australia (14 weeks #1 surpassed the BEATLES with "Hey Jude") and #1 in U.S. Adult Contemporary too "Fernando" is (in a tie with Chiquitita, from 1979) the ABBA second greatest worldwide (only behind Dancing Queen) and sell more than 10 millions singles all over the world And in 1980, after the worldwide succes of the single Chiquitita at latín countries in 1979, "Fernando" was one of the songs recorded in spanish to the full album 'Gracias por la música" (ABBA singing in spanish languuage) the official video of Fernando was filmed in two days , at the same time with the official video of Dancing Queen, in February 1976 That's what my new sugestion is "Chiquitita" (1979) the other biggest ABBA worldwide hit , specialy in LatinAmerican countries A cordial greeting with affection from Buenos Aires Argentina South América
It's wonderful to see your reactions. I grew up with this music by Abba and other bands and met the love of my life while dancing. Because I worked in the music industry stage technology from 1980 to 1995, I know a lot of the old bands very well. With today's digital technic, almost anyone can make music. In the past, musicians needed a good voice and had to be able to play an instrument, and everything was analogue. Greetings from Germany 🙂🙃
Aww love me some ABBA. One of the greatest groups ever. This song is about a guy reminiscing about the Mexican Civil War. Not sure how much u know about them. They are 2 married couples from Sweden. ABBA is the initials of their first names Anni-Frid aka Frida or Annie the auburn haired girl was married to Benny the guy with the beard and usually the pianist. Agnetha is the blonde haired girl married the guitarist Bjorn. The guys wrote and compised the songs and the ladies, both whom had amazing voices took turns on lead vocals but when they harmonized together it was magic and known as ABBAS 3rd voice. They have sold over 400 million records. Only the Beatles have sold more
A bit of Spanish folk music in this tune, so many great ones by this band. How about checking out Little River Band "Reminiscing" "Lonesome loser" "Cool change" "Lady" "It's a long way there" "Happy anniversary" "Take it easy on me"
How many pop songs were written about the Mexican War? Frida is so beautiful. The song’s lyrics in Swedish, the first version is on Frida’s solo album - are different in meaning.
Best group ever.
Best Band Ever

Great reaction. There’s plenty more to come. Try “ Take a Chance on me” 😊👍🏾
My favourite tune my Abba..fab tune.
Now you know how the whole world felt everytime these 2 magnificent creatures burst into melody

Hello again, dear friend
Happy to see you following the single Fernando
"Fernando" (1976) is slowly, and beautiful
The best is the beauty of their vocal harmonies, with great solo intro by the brunette singer Frida,
very soft at the whisper level but at a level of perfection,

ABBA had already recorded "Dancing Queen" and it came from the success of "Mamma Mía"
It was their manager who convinced Them to record "Fernando" so as not to repeat the style
(the brunette singer Frida had done it the year before on her solo album in Swedish, with other lyrics,
and it was a big success in Sweden)
The manager was right and everything was a great success, one after another in 1976, that gives ABBA three #1 consecutives in UK:
Mamma Mía (2 weeks)
Fernando (4 weeks)
Dancing Queen (6 weeks)
"Fernando" was a colossal success in Australia (14 weeks #1 surpassed the BEATLES with "Hey Jude")
and #1 in U.S. Adult Contemporary too
"Fernando" is (in a tie with Chiquitita, from 1979) the ABBA second greatest worldwide
(only behind Dancing Queen)
and sell more than 10 millions singles all over the world
And in 1980, after the worldwide succes of the single Chiquitita at latín countries in 1979,
"Fernando" was one of the songs recorded in spanish to the full album 'Gracias por la música"
(ABBA singing in spanish languuage)
the official video of Fernando was filmed in two days ,
at the same time with the official video of Dancing Queen, in February 1976
That's what my new sugestion is
"Chiquitita" (1979)
the other biggest ABBA worldwide hit , specialy in LatinAmerican countries
A cordial greeting with affection from
Buenos Aires Argentina
South América

'Voulez Vous' will blow your mind😊😅.
